I want to be able to watch Netflix on my Moto G on the tv via HDMI but I'm not sure what cable I need.
I bought a micro HDMI to HDMI cable but that doesn't appear to fit.
I've had a look at Micro USB to HDMI cables but they all seem to say theyre for other devices like the Samsung Galaxies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Moto G has no video output via cable. You can use DLNA or Miracast to wirelessly stream your media to your TV. If your TV does not support this, there are options like Chromecast(only works with some apps yet) or any Miracast HDMI dongle, that actually streams the screen and audio of your phone to your TV. I hope this helps, good luck.
I have tried Miracast to my LG Smart TV, utilising the hack on 4.3......
although it attempts connection, which shows via pop-up on the TV, it does not connect at least not for me.....
I will try again after I upgrade to KK....
apparently the screen cast option is available natively.

Hello guys,
My nexus 5 is not connecting with the TV via usb cable. Previously I had a phone and I use to play movies from that phone to the TV. What to do???
You need to buy a Slim Port adapter. It plugs into the HDMI port of your TV, not USB.
Edit: Or if you have a smart TV, screencast. In display settings.
Slimport? Will it work with 'LCD' cuz I don't have smart TV or HDTV??

What TV do you have? You need a HDMI on your TV
Yep it does have a HDMI port BTW its lg 42 inch
"lg 42 inch" hardly tells us anything lol..
If your TV is a 42' LCD with HDMI ports, I'm pretty sure it's a HDTV. Link to your television if you can find it? As long as there's a working HDMI connection, slimport should work.
Just pick one up from RadioShack or something. Keep the receipt. If it doesn't work just go back and tell them that and return it.
Well, I live in Pakistan and I can't find a slimport nearby me but yes I found a Mhl cable will it work?
No

MHL is for Samsung devices. Nexus uses a slimport to plug it on an HDTV and yes your TV is HDTV since it has an HDMI port

Hey guys, I have been searching but I couldn't find, is there any way that I can project my phone to external display which is a projector by the way with a vga port.. So a microusb to vga converter can do this job aur any thing that can help me plz do tell me.. Thankyou..
No one???
I don't think you can by cable. You can by Casting (wifi).
Apparently the one plus one is not mhl compatible, so an usb adapter won't work like already said by JeffDC. You can cast using miracast if the projector is compatible, or maybe search about buy a device like a chromecast for exemple ?
No mhl support, chromecast only. The new chromecast devices are good for 5ghz
Boosted 1+1
Does your projector have HDMI input? If so, chromecast would work nicely.
Chrome-cast, or really any wifi direct gadget ought to work. I use Netgears in my house and on travel. Perfect.
Chromecast is the answer for your question. If you don't want to buy it then connect the projector to you computer or laptop and use some screen mirroring apps from play store to mirror your phone to the PC.
Mirrorop from play store is a good option.

Hi!
Does anyone know whether connecting our phone to a TV via Micro USB to HDMI cable would work?
If so, is there a cable you'd recommend?
I loved using my previous smartphone as a portable movie player and I'd love to do the same with my XT1562.

you could buy a micro usb mhl hub to hdmi which normally includes a few ports other than hdmi. I haven't tested it myself but the prospect of installing Kodi into the phone, plug the mhl hub, hdmi cable to the tv, plug a bluetooth mouse adapter to the mhl hub usb port then you get a small android tv player. the only problem would be charging the phone, I'm not sure if the mhl hub could charge it.
Tell you what, I have an old moto Atrix HD with dual port (mini hdmi and micro usb). Perhaps I should buy the mhl hub and see if it works.

AFAIK Moto have no MHL nor Slimport, so it's not able to send video through MicroUSB.
Depending on your TV you could use screencasting.

Yep I confirm it works great.
On a 4K LG TV with WebOS and also with a Miracast dongle from Gearbest :good:
hello xda developers!
I recently found on ebay a micro-USB to USB OTG , HDMI , SD card and i want to use it with my galaxy tab s 8.4 as a media center (mainly kodi)
I have few questions that i hope you can answer me:
what type of cable do i need (compatible to which phone)?
does it charge the tablet or i have to use it with the hub while it is discharging?
Does the Ebay MHL to hdmi from china give out good fps , image quality and respond time (screencast i too slow)
doest it send sound through cable?
Thanks for the help
You need MHL 3rd generation compatible. This generation also charge tablet. With MHL cable you get higher FPS, image quality same as on tablet.
this is the kind of mhl cable that i use.

Dont get a MHL. Invest in a chrome cast its better and the quality is HD. Get the all cast app too as you can cast anything but the google home app lets you mirror your phone to tv.

I can agree with this. I always used to have an MHL cable. And I also have one for this tablet. But with less and less tablets supporting MHL. Not many custom roms supporting MHL, it's way better to invest in a Chromecast. It's more furute proof. A chromecast is smaller (less cable). With a chromecast you can put your phone/tablet anywhere in the room, no restictions of cable lenghts. Etc.
That being said, I still need to get my own chromecast. It's going to be one of the first things I'm going to buy.
