Hello guys,
I just want to ask: is there a cracked version for WhatsApp that overrides the one year renewal?
Thank you.
I don't think the question for a cracked version is a legitimate question around here. Anyway, I would advise you to wait for a couple of days. When I waited, I ultimately got the announcement that my license was renewed for a year even though I didn't pay.
You could, I don't know if this still works, log into whatsapp with an iPhone of a friend who bought it in the AppStore.
Is there anyway to get whatsapp working on a wifi tablet?

If yo have a 3g tablet, you must have different SIM and number.
Just head to the generic app forum or the gtab 10.1 app forum and you will find the app APK to install on your tab.
and off you go whatsapping !!! People will reply to the number you send from.
I use both phones and tablet with great ease.

Hello XDA,
I know Gameloft's polices suck just as much as their games are generally awesome.
What I am wondering though is if I buy games now for my Vibrant, if there is ever a way to transfer those titles by any means possible to another phone later on in the future?
I have titanium backups of the games and the SD data copied and the original APK's downloaded from the gameloft store.
Can I restore those titanium backup's on future phones?
Could I install the APK's on future phones in Airplane Mode?
Has anyone gotten this to work at all?
Thanks!
I've read that you can call them and explain your situation and they'll switch the license(s) over without much hassle.
Otherwise, you might be able to get things to work now, but if you ever wanted any of the updates you'd be SOL.
I haven't had a problem with restoring Titanium backups.
When I returned my Vibrant for a replacement I called and they transfered the games to my new phone. I don't know if they would transfer to a different model.

That is all I was really wondering. Is if Titanium backup or installing the APK's in airplane mode would work on another kind of device.
I bought 4 gameloft games, but lets say if the Playstation Phone comes out and it doesn't fail horribly, then, naturally, I would want to be able to transfer them to that somehow.
I just cant justify having to buy the same games again just for a new phone, especially since my old phone would go to someone who never uses games anyway.

My Asus transformer was stolen today. Is there any app or way I can track it?
thanks
Todd
not unless you're really lucky.
i'm not sure, but if you get yourself another android device, active latitude to display your location, i wonder if it would cause latitude on your tab (if you even have it) to start displaying it's location.
of course, this wholy depends on your tab having google latitude (included with google maps?), have gps access, and the theif haven't done a factory reset.
I don't need a signature.

Yes there is. Go to market.android.com and install Plan B to your transformer. ( it will then email your gmail account associated with your android account once its located * very accurate aswell)do it now before the battery dies. If it works please post back!

you can install apps to your devices straight from the market on a web browser, however, i think you still have a confirmation prompt ( not too sure)
no there is no confirmation, but the thief will ge prompted that certain program has been installed.
sorry to disappoint you but honestly I would say the hope is slim... a factory reset will wipe out all the trails..
Slim ...But there is hope. The thief may not even know how to turn it on. Or it may be missplaced somewhere unattended.

plan b sends out the first one without prompting, so it's worth a shot. You only need to text it if you are pinging it more than once.
So far nothing. Tried Plan B, but maybe the thief hasn't turned it on and hooked it up to wifi. I'm hoping they or the person they sell it to does before the juice runs out of it. The morons didn't take the power supply!

I've tried Plan B on my own and it never notified me. I don't think it works over Wifi alone.
So for the past year or so I've been using whatsapp. The main reasons? It's cross platform and the ability to group instant message. My parents, sister, wife, in law's... My entire family has adopted it on my account. And it's great, for mobile phones. But yesterday I bought a nexus 7 and discovered it won't work on tablets. So basically I'm now trying to find either a way to get it to work on the nexus (preferably) or any alternative that suits our needs.
Basically, it's a cry for help. But I'd love to hear from you guys. Any suggestions are welcome.

Rumors (in other words, not necessarily true or false, but not confirmed).
I'd suggest you use something like Skype, GTalk or another IM that doesn't use phone numbers for verification. Obviously, it will be harder to add friends since it's not automatic, but you're not going to find any app that uses your contacts' phone numbers directly and your number without verification as that's a real issue.
Even if you could get Whatsapp to work on your tablet, it doesn't support two devices at once (your other device will be desactivated), so I'd really suggest you don't root your tablet and get a backup app just to try that that. Of course, it has its advantages, but it won't be useful in this case.
here what i done on mine
whatsapp application need a phone number verification which ll provide a code over text or phone call so i suggest to use a different phone number since you choose your tablet or cell-phone if you use the same number, since you cant run on both
try this download the apk over computer and transfer to u memory card or use a file host as dropbox to simply download and install
visit to download http://www.whatsapp.com/android/
and now use your home-phone or another number different as the one you use on cell-phone or try google voice if you are in the US
now just input telephone number and request a code over phonecall which is faster and get the code when the app request it just input the code and you are set!
hope helps or get the idea to accomplished what you need
Thanks for watching

I'm going with Skype. If does what I need. But both Skype and GTalk have a problem : neither support android 4.2 multi user. This is a problem. What I am trying to do is consolidate my Android experience. Both me and the wife have Android phones. Now we purchased the tablet for browsing at home and such. When out and about we use the phones to keep in touch with other connected family members and friends using Skype. When at home, we want to be able to reply from whatever device we are interacting with. If I'm in my session on the Nexus, I want to reply from there. Don't want to have to get up and go get the phone. Same for the wife. As main user, I can do this. But I can't get it to work for the wife's profile. At least not without logging out of Skype before switching profiles.

There are several texting apps in the Play Store. My personal favorite is TextNow. The only caveat is that you tell it what area code you are in, and they assign you a "phone number" and that is the number your texts come from. You may end up getting a phone number from the area code you enter, or you may not, it just depends upon what's available. As long as the people you text know it's "you" and list it as one of your "phone numbers" it does not really matter.
You can even buy "credits" and make and receive voice calls using this number.

I just bought this model number today. Is this firmware just for people that bricked their phones? I rooted mine today without issue and hope that there will be all the other goodies available like on my samsung phone. The guy at Sprint told me that there were already custom roms and recovery, but I found out he was wrong.

MagicJack also works for free phone call's. They give you a random Florida or Wisconsin number when you make a call, and no one can call you back, but for free it's nice. I think if you have a MagicJack hardware device you can use that number with the APP and have in/out calls free over wifi. It works very well with my Verizon Galaxy Nexus (unlimited data plan) on wifi tether
