[Q] Is this okay? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This seems very cheap. I'm using it for films/music. Is it the right size/type?
Also is this the right speed or class or whatever the term is?
TIA

Just looking for input on the tablet.

I have one i bought for grins to play with so I can understand Android better. here are the specs. things i have done is Rooted it, tried Set Cpu but it chokes on it. Just wondering if there is anything i can do to tweak it.. I am just looking to play with it as it was cheap and my fear of bricking is less than if i used my archos 101. Are there any firmwares out with 2.0, 2.1 or even 2.2 that would work on it? Believe me i do not want someone to do the work for me I just want to be pointed in the right direction.
i have read that there are firmwares that will run off the SD card for testing as well so you don't brick the tablet.
I know the 2.2 is BS it's 1.6
Memory = 256
Model = Generic
Firmware Version = Android 2.2
Kernel Version = 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty
Build Number = WMT2.1.2
anyone have any input?

32 GB Class 10 microSDHC cards tested in the Sensation

Hi, just thought I'd create a thread for people buying the HTC Sensation, but also intend to buy a 32GB microSDHC.I will probably get a Class 10 type myself, but if anyone can link to lower class cards that out perform's Lexar's Class 10 card I, and others will be interested.
Please can we ignore any unknown brand cards, and anything relating to eBay. - As we know likely to be fake.
I found this card and if you have tried it, or are going to try it I will be interested in knowing how well it performs. As I intend to buy it for my new phone in a few weeks time.
£40...http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index.pl?origin=gbase10.5&prodID=2106472
What class is that card? It mentions class 10 in the description which is confusing, but that price is awesome if it is a class 10. In fact it's pretty good for a class 2 card!
[edit] just looked closer at that card and it is a class 10. wow!
That's either a misprice or a fake. No way should it be that cheap. Even on ebay those are nearly double the price....from HK!!
Anyone ordered one yet?
Legit company. Checkout 32gb card thread in galaxy s2 accessories thread.
Apparently no stock though. I googled the manufacturer number and it relates to Class 10.
You know something, I wonder if they have put a cheap price up just to drive alot of web traffic to his website. Maybe permanently out of stock. Will ring them tomorrow to find out.

I upgraded from a 16GB Sandisk "ultra" to Lexar 32GB class 10, I noticed a huge speed increase, now the photo gallery loads pictures much faster than before, copying files is faster and nandroid backup is MUCH faster (over 1GB data to backup)
I don't know if Lexar is the fastest but for the price and performance it's very good.
When you consider sandisk extreme class 10 normal sd,can write 20 or 30mb/sec it is quite slow, for a class 10, but beggars cant be choosers, and its fairly new tech for microsdhc i guess. UFS-I looks ace. Theres a toshiba 16gb microsdhc that does 20mb write. Can people find out if the Sensation is UFS-I conpatible? Bet price is significantly dearer though.

As a photographer I’ve been using Lexar cards for many years and find them very fast, solid and reliable.
I will be getting one to put into my SENSATION, once it is released in the UK (just in time for my June upgrade yipee).
may still keep my HD2 and load up lots of ROMs……or……£130 to sell it on line to the recycling dudes.

Ok, this kind of breaks or rather smashes the price barrier.
Anyone have any dealings with this Guernsey company?

That's SDHC, not microSDHC.
You need this link instead:

Cheapest is now unbranded for £44.99 for 32GB Class 2. I'd still go for the 32GB Class 10 Lexar from play.com for £68.99, personally.

Yes, I've used them quite a few times in the past. Whenever there's been a problem (2 cards were not delivered even though they were apparently dispatched) they have sorted it out quickly and efficiently with just a single email.
I'd certainly recommend them.
SanDisk 32GB Class 2
Kingston 32GB Class 4
Patriot 32GB Class 10
^ tested all 3 of this and stayed with the last one. For the price and size/speed thats the best. As I don't trust ADATA nor WINTEC along with Lexer. So if anyone interested seriously look in to it.

As I have owned and tested SanDisk 32GB Class 2 and Kingston 32GB Class 4 and now Patriot LX 32GB Class 10. I can safely say this is by far the fastest card I used and not only does it meets the minimum class requirement but it exceeds it with flying colors. I have placed benchmark at the bottom so others who is thinking about buying this card can view it to make better decisions. For the price I give this card 7/10 and for speed 10/10, but thats far as I would go to defend this card.

if you apply the ahead read buffer hack then you will get even higher read speed.
Bought a Patriot 32GB microsd. Apparently write speed is 14MB/sec. 75 quid from memoryc.com
Recently got a 7dayshop 32GB sd card off ebay... fake. Typical lol.

Be careful with the Patriot cards . They corrupt all data when 16gb of data is achieved .

Well put it this way. I used a class 4 8gb microsd in my new 16MP camera. It took several seconds to write 1 photo. Granted cpu will be alot slower but still surprisingly slow. Id save for class 10 in long run. I got my Patriot 32gb from memoryc.com good price for a real card.

Have both a Samsung 32gb class10 and a made in China 16gb class10 and they both are very fast, would even guess that the Chinese one is a bit faster.

hehe that didnt really answer my question >.<
Well, the reason may due to your handset, I used to had a motor atrix with class 4 and I can get 5 mb/s via usb . But for my optimus 3d only maximum to 4mb/s even with class 10. It got to be your hardware or firmware restricting it.

actually using the phone to do the format would be better as it automatically chooses the best cluster size for use with android system. well it all depends on the contains you going to throw in too, to determine the best cluster size.

[Q] Rom develpment what computer needed

Hi, I was thinking about making my own rom for a little while. I want to know if i could do it with a higher end net book running ubuntu or if i should get something with more processing power. Also if you have any recommendations of cheap phones that are easy to develop for. Thanks in advance!
If you have a minimum 3gb ram and your laptop is high end. You might as well give it a go.

64gb Sandisk extreme

Anyone try this card out on the S4? Is there a huge difference in speeds between the ultra and extreme? My 64gb "samsung" brand microsd card is failing on me and im in the market for a new card and i learned my lesson so i dont mind spending the extra bucks for a "reliable" card .
just need an opinion if its worth spending twice the money for the extreme?
i have the class 10 sandisk microSDHC; works fine zero issues. GF has one in her S4 too.
I also confirm that it works.
64GB SanDisk cards in my Galaxy 4, Nook Tablet, and HTC Vision all working with no problems.
But can and does the Samsung S4 support the faster speeds that the extreme offers ?
I thought the reader in the S4 was limited. Can anyone confirm ?

That's also what I thought.
I read that somewhere!!!

It would seam to me the hardware speed must be limited, I was using a class 4 16gb card moved to a 64gb uhs1/class 10 and acording to sdcard speed test the write speed is actually slower or about equal compaired to the class 4 which doesn't make sense to me unless my card is crap.

that is exactly what i wanted to know, the extreme offeres faster speeds but does the S4 support that? If it doesnt then id just buy the samsung extreme pro for $65 from amazon rather than paying $100 something for the sandisk extreme
i have the class 10 and it work great

Class 10 is only 10MB write /sec. Its not fast.
Sandisk Extreme is 50MB/sec but Ive read that the S4 micro SD is limited and the maximum you can get is 20MB/sec
so theres very little benefit in getting one with faster speeds.
May as well save money and get a slower one.
1080P video recording [technically] requires a Class 6 card or better.
The faster your SD card is, the faster some activities will complete. Like Titanium Backups or making a nandroid of your ROM. These are write intensive activities and if you're not a patient kind of person, then go with the fastest SD card you can get.
Otherwise, I'd get a Class 6 at a minimum. And make sure to get a real card because eBay is flooded with fake SD cards that are slower than advertised speed.
I'm in the plumbs parking lot right now
