[Q] Transformer Feedback

Quick question
this has probably been asked a billion times.
Can anybody with a transformer with the keyboard dock give me some feedback with how software interacts, any bugs or glitches?
Would you consider it "stable" for word processing, note taking etc if you were at school?
Any known issues?
I'm planning to get one instead of a laptop for school because of its battery life, low power, and the amount of practical things I could use it for both at home and at school.

technically, technically, the Hong Kong release yesterday of the transformer does have the dock option. Whether they peruse this forum though is another matter.

I saw...but nobody's said anything yet.....I reckon a quick walk down to the electronics store and ask if I could play around with one might do the trick.....

AT&T One X Desktop Dock?

I can't seem to find the OEM dock (with the pogo pins) anywhere. Not Amazon, eBay, etc.
Maybe I'm searching by the wrong name/title? Is it not out yet?

Not out yet. The international version is out but the pins do not align properly with ours...so don't mistakenly buy one of those.

I haven't any location that have them instock yet. Look at puremobile to see the item.

i think att has it for 60 dollars on their site. go to htc one x then accesories

I just ordered one of these last night. do you currently have one? I assume its probably for the International version, so are there any fitting problems?

He is asking about any fitting issues for the Kidigi dock, not the OEM dock.
I am also curious. I have the Speck Candyshell and am curious if the phone will fit with a case on. I have seen where it says it will fit, but I havent found any confirmation.

I don't own one but I know for sure that they are ok for the XL (USA version) because it's USA sellers also selling them. I don't really need a dock because I just charge at night by my night stand and it really doesn't bother me to just connect the charging cable. Also I just use DLNA to stream video and stuff to my tv and other devices. However this hdmi dock might come in use when travelling, you could connect it to any tv with hdmi (most hotel tv's have them). I saw the dock on the kidigi website when I was looking at their car dock which I bought from htcpedia.com

does it use the pogo pins or the USB port?

well by looking at the pics I do not see any pogo pin connects, but I do see the micro-usb connection

lols not having one and having one that doesnt work is almost the same thing

It's been down for almost a month now. I read on another site that someone spoke to an ASUS rep who claimed it was supposed to be up and running by the end of last week. So far nadda.
Strange, considering the ASUS eStores in other countries appear to be up and running, albeit their out of stock on almost all the acessories I would purchase DOLT!
Prolly has something to do with an Apple, Inc. lawsuit. (just kidding - it was a poke oozing with sarcasm).

[Q] Should I buy an Infinity or should I wait?

Long term lurker here, first time posting.
I want a tablet for school but not necessarily to write notes on it and such. I want to read my textbooks on the tablet or do homework problems from the PDF textbooks. I also want a tablet that I can have fun with during my downtime.
I remember watching the Prime to see if it would ever get fixed. I know the GPS on that didn't work and the wifi would drop off. I don't really plan on using the GPS feature on the Infinity but I'll end up relying on the wifi a lot. Is the wifi feature fixed with one of the updates?
I know some about android since I rooted my old EVO and I flashed ROMs constantly. I wouldn't mind doing that with the Infinity since what I've read is the CleanROM+Data2SD+a kernel makes this tablet pretty snappy.
I've read that in order to flash a rom, one has to get the boot loader unlocked and that voids the warranty. How long should I wait for physical problems to arise from the tablet?
What kind of problems have you had with your tablet?

Got my tablet this summer ..only problem i have with it is the squeaky sound it makes when i squeeze it. Other than that the tablet is smooth ! I saved 100s of dollars on textbooks. I dowloaded pdf versions and put then on my tab. I love this thing wouldn't trade it for anything. Except maybe a surface pro

I know what you mean about downloading the PDFs and saving money! Is your tablet stock or did you do anything to it?

I would definitely get it if you are using it for school. I am currently a graduate student at umiami and use this everyday for class. Lol I'm actually in lecture right now responding to this post.

I put cleam rom on it.. not because stock was slow ..lol I'm a flash junkie that's all.

That said, I still recommend a laptop for you. I'm a technodude. I feel technology differently than most people. To me, the infinity serves its purpose well. But if you want to be absolutely safe, you should get a laptop. It's proven technology for most people.

I actually already have a laptop. I was just looking for something that wouldn't be as bulky and would be good to read books off of.

As in flashing roms or is it stock? Do you have any physical problems (pixels are messed up, casing is falling apart, etc)?

I use mine for Uni. It doesn't fully cover everything I need it to do, but that's just because it can't run the adobe CS5/6 package. (PS touch is all fun and well, but highly under-qualified for a graphic designer.)
For documents, reading, internet and entertainment, it's excellent. The massive storage and keyboard are a definite plus. I have two 32gb MicroSD's, one in the tab and one in an adapter in the dock, so I can exchange them when I need something from the 2nd one without connecting the dock.
I'm one of the lucky ones in this board, as mine's flawless.

Unless these are fixed I would not recommend them the one I have is out of spec and after using one to charge my phone connected to a Surface Pro dock that USB port no longer works. I have to get a new Dock.

They may have updated the cables, as per the email i just got from Orzly

Interesting. I just tested their single cable -
Funnily enough, the cable I use to show one that isn't compliant, was one from the orzly 4 pack.
How did you come about to be e-mailing them about the quality of the 4 pack? Should I be asking for a refund on the non-compliant ones I have?
Also, do you have a link? I can't find them at the moment.

I saw the black friday sale and jumped all over it, forgetting to check the compatibility document.
So when i checked it and saw the orzly wasn't compatible i email them and quickly got a reply.
I opted to keep my order, but if they don't work then i will be requesting a refund, as i have the email as proof that they told me they should work fine.
