It's been down for almost a month now. I read on another site that someone spoke to an ASUS rep who claimed it was supposed to be up and running by the end of last week. So far nadda.
Strange, considering the ASUS eStores in other countries appear to be up and running, albeit their out of stock on almost all the acessories I would purchase DOLT!
Prolly has something to do with an Apple, Inc. lawsuit. (just kidding - it was a poke oozing with sarcasm).

I did not recieve any kind of emails. They just delivered the package without any notification. Christmas came early this year!! .
It's actually a funny story. I am staying at my parent'h house right now, babysitting their dogs. My gf told me that a package came for me at our apartment when I was not really expecting one. I was really caught off guard.
I've read reports of people getting emailed that they've been chosen as a tester, but not emailed any shipping information. The laptop just appears on the doorstep.

Well, I can confirm the doorstep part. According to my gf, it was just sitting right outside our apartment door. No way to treat such a treasure.....

I think I signed up about 2 months ago. It says you can sign up until Dec. 21st. They are supposedly giving 60,000 of them away, and have only shipped 13,000. Good luck!

I'm so disappointed...there were two coming to my zip code yesterday and today but neither one was for me. I have a relatively small town of non-tech savvy people too so I was hoping I would get one but it looks like both have already been delivered

2 were delivered to my town so far.. I pray there's still hope for me since there's still a rumored 45k left.
this is a neat netbook. i love the 8-10 hour battery life but honestly, i can get more done efficiently on my Captivate running Assonance 5.0 w/ JL3 modem and it's much faster.
going to put the cr-48 in developer mode over the holidays and install a dual boot of ubuntu to make it a really efficient and useful machine.
I signed up several weeks ago, but no love yet. 2 have been delivered to my zip code but not to me. I did get some GTV love, I got my Revue yesterday so at least I have something to keep me busy between sacrificing chickens to the gods in hope of a CR-48.
***will trade my cr-48 for Revue***
When I get my CR-48 I'll let you know if it's a good trade
I've only had my Revue for a night and I am loving it so far. Once I can get this thing rooted to get around the network blocks it will kick some serious a$$.

T-Mobile/LG releasing G2X information in a Few Days (not another rumor thread)

LG has continued to stick to it’s message of working fast and furious to push out a T-Mobile G2x Gingerbread update that contains various bug fixes. The problem is right now their message is something along the lines of “we know you are frustrated and we’re understanding so we hope to have some information to tell you soon.” What’s soon? Is it two days or two weeks as it’s already been a month that the G2x has been gone from T-Mobile.com. The time to tell us something has come and gone, now we’re moving into impatience.
Tonight’s information shows that LG hopes to deliver some information about the update in the next few days but not necessarily the update itself. As you can see in the Tweet above there is no indication that the “next few days” means an actual software release. So G2x owners are stuck playing the waiting game yet again. While I understand that neither T-Mobile nor LG wants to give a target date and miss it, perhaps it’s better than not saying anything at all.

That message does not sound good to me. I believe they are working hard on it but it almost sound as if there having some problems with it. Doesn't look good. Glad I have a bug free G2X because I don't think there fixing anything.

If they weren't having issues with it then I assume it would be out by now...? I think this was just sent out tonight to help ease the minds of those like us in the forums. Not that I feel better or worse but at least it's some form of "Yes, we know" -Just my opinion of course.

While I love my g2x, I can honestly say that I have never seen such a high end phone get pulled so quickly. LG borked it bog time and now the consumers pay. So T-Mobile exchanges the phone for a lower specification phone and expects us to pay MORE money for the so called "upgrade" to the Sensation. Personally I am pissed how this has been handled!
No one has seen a high end phone get pulled this quickly .....it didn't get pulled....

Really? They stopped selling it. I have never seen that happen so quickly. Hell even the Evo, which should have been pulled was instead quickly upgraded by HTC. You are foolish if you think that T-Mobile just went out of stock.

I think they're out of stock or waiting to ship phones with updates pre-installed. I upgraded from the Nexus One and this phone is far superior (except the GPS)
My buddy bought one today...if they pulled it or recalled it they wouldn't be able to sell it in stores....that is where a lawsuit could realistically happen

A lot of the stores are selling them when they have been asked not to. Why? Stores have to meet sales metrics. If you have a new customer signing up and they want the G2x, would you really tell them no?

I dont know where you guys get all this crazy info from.
I have not seen one official email telling myself, or any other store in my region to not sell G2X's. (although we havent been getting our stock replenished for about 3 weeks now. we still have 2-3 in stock, but due to the recent price hike no one is really interested in the phone)
Bro think logically here...if it was recalled and they continue to sell them, and someone with a buggy phone found that out and could prove it, don't you think T-Mobile would end up losing alot more money with all the legit lawsuits then they would eating the cost of the recalled and discontinued g2x? Once again it hasn't been recalled?

Lawl. This means that T-mobile customers will only see it by late October or early November.
Hopefully by then, the SGS2 will be released on T-Mobile. This is ridiculous. They must have hired just one person PART-TIME working on this.

It happens that the UK is one of the last markets it gets rolled out to, not that they aren't going to have it completed until September. Other markets will being receiving the update this month.

Not selling G2x's anymore

So i went to T-mobile yesterday and found out that they aren't even selling the G2x's anymore . .i was kinda surprised they just banished it out of nowhere . . wondering if they'd still replace them since I'm still paying my 8 bucks a month for warranty
Ah... so I wonder what phone they'd give you to replace the g2x ?
They are still offering the G2X through exchange. I'm actually getting 2 as replacements (ordered this evening) for my Samsung Galaxy S 4g's.
I believe the rep indicated it was end of life, or close to it.

Yea its been eol'd but I just sold mine to a friend cause I got the one s but if they switch it for something else is help my homie out no doubt lol

This phone died mainly because of bad coding in the software and because t-mobile had to do a recall of all the g2x phones which cost the company lots of money. It did not have to be this way if they had taken the time to get it right the first time.
And also it's Google's fault. They should have taken control of all phones, but they decided to let everyone do whatever hey want. Google now realizes that and are starting to take some control.
Next TMO LG phone will be the 4GX. When a phone is declared EOL, it means they are no longer selling it. That happened quite a few months ago.

BRo it got EOL'd months ago and they were selling it like last week i swear i saw it on the website .. they JUST stopped that's why i made the post

I don't think they stopped, they just merely ran out of stock. They're just not getting any more shipments that's all. I'm sure there's still plenty of TMO stores that have the G2x still in stock and ready to be sold.
you my friend are in Denial . . i bet you believed when they said they just "ran out of stock" last time too instead of admitting the phone had so many issues when it first came out .. the reps at T-Mobile legitly told me they are not selling it anymore and go to the website it's just not there atleast back when they first did it it said out of stock it was still there but its gone bro

Yes, they're probably not making the phone anymore but if the store still has some in stock why would they stop selling it? Of course they'd continue to sell until they're relieved of them in stock.

They give people refurbished G2x's as replacements. Not brand new in box ones; those I'd assume they'd rather sell.
... Corporate stores don't sell phones that their corporation doesn't sell, that's common sense lol .. so if they had some which I'm sure every store had atleast a couple they'd be forced to send then back to T-Mobile who would end up giving them back to LG for credit or something like that dude

Companies would rather make money than lose money. And I think we all know that's common sense. Sending units back is losing money. Selling them is making money.
Guarantee you I can still find a G2x for sale in some of my local T-Mo stores.
But either way, this has become a pointless argument from the start. I'll stop now.
Several of my local stores have stopped selling them ... Or at least they have been removed from the sales floor .

Yep, I checked the store today and they did not have it in stock. They had an open space to display it, but no stock. They said that a lot of people have been asking about it. They didn't know when it would arrive, but it might be as much as a month after it is listed online.

Was told the same thing, minus others asking about it when I went to check.
I called my local Best Buy. The lady stated that her computer said it will be in stock on 22nd - 23rd of July. So hopefully only another week!

That fondue pot's looking pretty good XD. I didn't see it this morning, it's there now. I ordered over the phone and the expected delivery date is the 19th-24th.
EDIT: Anyone notice that the dock is $160 at Best Buy?
EDIT2: A side note...they offered a warranty of some sort (I didn't really listen, I just wanted to get the thing ordered already), some Geek Squad warranty against physical damage like drops and breaks, it even covered water damage. Anyone think that would be worth it? I don't think I'll be taking my tablet to the shower with me anytime soon, but it might be helpful if it's actually a good service and I do happen to break it.

So I sent in my tablet for a rma, The screen went out. The part to fix It however was out of stock so they sent me a new one. Well the part came in and know they are sending my old one fixed back. Talk about customer service this is amazing. I though I like Asus before now i love them. Just thought I share this good side of Asus since their are so many horror stories. I'm a customer for life.

Asus set my Christmas right, was not going to be able to get much this year with the price of everything since the economy went to sh*t but hey now I can give my wife this (as I have not showed her yet ). She's a tech lover like me.

Luckly they dont captain buzz kill . If they catch it ill send it back. Otherwise merry christmas to me and my wife. To the student i am sorry to hear you cant get yours back that does suck, this tablet is WAY too expensive for the problems it has. Well thank you she is going to love it too. She is always stealing mine when im home , but as a fire fighter im gone for24 hours at a time. So when im gone all she has is her phone so she will be very happy.

A couple more days later i got an email saying my broken one was repaired and i should recieve it within 5-7 days... that was months ago. I just figured they caught their mistake before it was sent out. Funny thing about it mine wasunlocked, running custom rom and all.... never a word from them about it.
