That is strange, the device is listed as having a plastic screen, not glass.

It sure doesn't feel nor break as it's out of plastic, judged by OP's pic. It might not be Gorilla grade glass, but sure does not have plastic properties IMO.
Also, I don't see where in the specs it's stated it's made out of plastic...
Btw, I thought capacitive screens can not do the game if covered with plastic.
Btw2, I recalll how plastic screen, resistive, is and behave and SIII Mini sure does not do that.
Illuminate please?
Tks.

Looks and feels like gorilla glass to me.
Same as my s3

I got my information from online reviews. The Samsung site does not say Gorilla Glass, and I'm sure it would have put that feature in the specs if it had it. So maybe it is glass but not gorilla glass. A lot of the early reviews have some wrong information.

you sold it..? technicians at A Samsung Service center told me that spare parts for the model aren't available yet since the model is somehow quite new.
I asked mine for them to replace my LCD. it is displaying weird vertical discolored lines when displaying solid dark colors.

wha.. was that for? we were tryna guess what you meant earlier in the thread..we were confused when you said you wet-applied the protectors when the earlier pics showed a dry-application type. my first impression was that you're using a wet-application type, but with a cut-out of a dry-application type (i.e protector does not cover the curved sides).
and then you posted that unused dry-application protector pic...and everything is answered. I dun get why you get all fussed up?
was it because of the "whacky" comment? look it up in a dictionary...if you really did misunderstood the meaning

Yeah, that's right, an official S3 Mini case.
It has silicone buttons instead of those ugly cutouts you see with 99% of all cases.
I haven't found this for sale on the internet, but I'm buying it from a Samsung dealer.

Not hard rubber, but certaintly not the same material as the phone itself.
It sure adds more grip, it's glossy as well, but for some reason it sticks to the hand.
If you worry about it slipping from your pocket, it does add some more grip there but not much. (the sides are made from hard rubber)

Doubt the 3rd generation glass will offer any major shatter-proof features over the original GG. New technology does not balance out user error.

As fantastic as Samsung phones are, this thing isn't winning any beauty contests. Outside of the screen, it's plastic. EVERYWHERE. There are some pretty slim cases out there, just take a stroll through the "accessories" sub-forum.
Your options are:
1. Case
2. Insurance (ripoff)
3. Spending your weekends/afternoons on iFixit taking untold years off of your life installing what you hope to be a working screen from what you hope was a legit parts retailer
4. Getting extremely friendly with the customer service reps (read: hand jobs)
5. None of the above, just post on XDA each time you break your phone so you magically get a new one (works surprisingly well)

Glass is glass. Doesn't matter if it has gorilla or elephant or bear stamped before it. If you drop it hard enough, it will break. So either get a case, try to be less clumsy, or live with the risk of it breaking.

I asked SONY staff normally they import from replacement selling store...didnt tell where is it (of course haha) But here's a picture below after installing my ASF that i ordered 2nd time.. First time was unfortunately messed up..I used a dust adhesive which makes the film completely unusable. So i ordered second time, installed perfectly using roller.
Oh forgot, the film is pretty thick until i cant feel bulky from phone's edges when film have not put yet.
Added tempered glass protector and sweet~!!!!

Removing the anti shatter shouldn't have any consequences. It's not against the TOS, so they should just repair your device.
