[Help] Installing Rom - HTC Sensation

Hey there!
I'm new in this forum so yeah, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. So, here I go.
I have the HTC Sensation 4G and I'm trying to install the ViperS Rom 1.6.3 but I have a problem. I do everything, leave things at default, etc. but when it finishes installing and everything I get stuck at the Boot Animation Screen and it won't do anything else. So I would like to know if there's something else I should do to install it and make it work.
My HTC Sensation 4G has root access and everything else already. I backed up everything before installing the room, but everytime I try, I get stuck at the same screen and it does absolutely nothing.
Is there some kind of tutorial or step-by-step topic about how to install a Rom with suggestiongs or things like that? I'd really love to make it work but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I hope someone can help me because I'm going crazy! haha x)
Thank you,
Erick

Hi,
Are you s-on?
What does your bootloader say?HBoot etc...
If you are,then, look HERE
Follow that guide ,and you will succeed.

AW: [Help] Installing Rom
Have you wiped data before installing the ROM? And do you have the 1.2* hboot? If you have 1.1*, it would not work because this one doesn't work with Android 4.*.

CWM install problem!

Hi I'm new here, been a iPhone user for years, and jailbroke every iPhone I had. I'm no expert but I can manage my way around most computers or gadgets. However I downloaded revolutionary and initiated it, but when it tried to install CWM it crashed my question is how do I get clockworkmod recovery on my phone now!? As it won't let me re-do the revolutionary app, just says your phone is not supported! The s-off has worked just not sure where to go from here? To get my phone rooted and get CWM on my phone! Any help would be much appreciated!
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
Get ADB working for your computer then from there flash CWM through fastboot if you have any questions from there use the search bar or google.
G2X and Sensation 4G I love both

Yes you can, or install a custom rom, they are faster and more optimized.

where can I find the stock ROM

I am looking for the stock ROM so I can do a warranty return. I am looking for the zip NOT the ruu. I heard you can get the rom out of the RUU but i don't know how. thanks
I hope someone answers because I have the same problem. I think my phone is going to have to be returned because the touch screen is getting very flaky and does not always respond like it should.
Same here also, wanted to go back to out of the box stock after rooting and s off and flashing arhd Rom. Theres so many threads and so many steps on each thread and so confusing to follow for a noob like me. Hope somebody can shed some light here

I realized that I had made a nandroid backup before I started all the S-off, rooting, and ROM changing so I just did a restore and I'm back to 100% stock. Funny thing is my screen quit acting up and is back to normal.

There's a pinned thread in the development section that will do just that. It says FAQ on it. It's written so a middle schooler can understand.

To get back to stock, you need to use an RUU. You can't flash a zip in recovery, because ytou need to remove recovery to be stock, and the only way to remove the revx stuff is flashing a stock ROM.

Htc Sensation Boot Loop

Hello people of XDA, I know you must be thinking ''Geez, not again'' but I have spent a lot of time reading other threads full of bootloops but have not yet found an awnser to my problem.
I have just S-Off'd, Rooted, Clockworked, SuperCID my Htc Sensation this evening. And I tried getting ICS to work, but as stated in the title it didn't work for me!
I downloaded ''Firmware from 3.12.401.2/102 RUU'' from the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
After trying to run that I have gotten stuck in the boot loop. I can still acces HBOOT and all, but cannot see my device on the computer. Also when I try to go in to HBOOT my phone automatically starts 'updating'
I hope someone is willing to guide me trough this
Thanks,
Wapstra
Seems like we are in a similar situation. My phone is bootlooping aswell and I think my situation was even worse.

Hi,
Please read THIS GUIDE
It is a complete guide to installing ICS.
You have the wrong kernel... Download the newest one... 3.32
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4g with Beats Audio
Thanks malybru. I'll look into that guide today ! And I'll let you know if it worked!
Thank you very much! It worked!
I don't like boot loops.
Could also be a cause that the rom isnt compatible with the firmware or vice versa
Sent from revolutionized HTC Sensation ICS
As ypu say the when you get into bootloader it starts updating....that means you need to do this:
Delete the PGxxxx(firmware) file from SD card, go into Hboot/bootloader and then to recovery...flash the rom....
Hope it helps.

HTC Sensation ROM issues

I wasn't able to S-OFF my phone because my phone is on 1.27.000 but i did unlock it through the HTC dev way.
my issue is that the only mod that seems to work on my phone is cyanogenmod9 and nothing else has been able to work on my phone.
I tried to install ordriod, the Pegasus rom, anything that seems to reall run with the Sense 3.6 won't run it will just stay stuck in the boot screen
I've looked all over the Q&A forums and I can't find anything that will give me an answer on what to do...
Please let me know this because I really preferred the other roms to cyanogenmod9 its just not for the sensation like the others are

If I recall correctly, having s-on and being HTC dev unlocked, you need to flash the rom and then flash the boot.img separately through fast boot, in order for the rom to boot.

Hi
Please check my sig(a great starting point)
It has all the links you will need.
If you want to s-off,I suggest ganesh or kgs.
If you want to stay s-on,look at asskicker thread.

Hi,
Yes,it should be fine.
You wouldn't have had that boot loop problem had you flashed 4ext custom recovery and enable smart flash that way you wouldn't have to extract the boot.IMG and flash via pc

Making my htc one s with viper one s rom

Hi, I just purchased my device (one s), and it's my first android, so i'm very new to everything...
My device is s4, ics 4.0.3, software 1.77.111.5, sense 4.0.
I would like to make my device 4.0.4, with sense 4.1, software 2.31.401.5 (which is the newest.. right?) and customed with viper one s 1.0.1...
I'm really bad with the terms, it's because this whole world is very new for me.
So anyway, i would appreciate if someone will explain what are the steps i need to take in order to do so or maybe point me to the right threads and guides...
Edited: my rom is of T-Mobile (i'm not sure my phrasing is right...)
THX A bunch

Thank you.
Edit: So That's how i make it with viper rom. But what about the software version, android version and sense version? Will the rom update them too?

1. Is your One S the S3 version or S4?
2. Did you make a backup of your previous ROM (stock)?
3. Did you flash the boot.img from fastboot?
Help us help you mate, don't just say your phone is useless. Tell us what you did when you flashed.

1. my one s is s4
2. i dont know if i made a backup... i followed the instructions on this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 right up to step 3, then i followed the instructions on this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850917 exactly like it's written.
so i dont know if i made a backup of my previous ROM (I got a feeling i didnt...).
3. in the ViperOneS guide it says just to run it... so i did (in fastboot usb ofcourse).
I'm really nervous, and i'm sorry for my last post.
THX a lot for the help, i hope it'll be OK.
Edit: After the whole process i get to the installation steps. so i do them, in the end it says "installation has stoped"... and then the black screen. i can only lock the screen and see the ring. nothing more.
So it seems i made a mistake, downloading only the update (1.1.0) and not the whole Rom...
So it's all ok now, it's working PERFECT!
