There is not an app for Youtube on the appstore, you are going to have to go through the Google Play Store since your kindle fire is rooted. However if you would rather use the appstore, there is an app called Freedi Youtube Downloader, I believe, you can play videos and download from Youtube.

Here is a copy of the Youtube app with the old layout.....it came from one of the CM10.1 ROMs. It is the version where the main screen is the rounded layout

Google rolled out the official update to the Play Store App 4.0.25 which is based on the HOLO theme of Google. But it was available only for selected devices. Though the update doesn't quite look good on this device, and the app icons pixelate which you view from the screenshot in the attachment. But the design looks too good and very clean. Google would be officially posting the update over a few weeks but for people who want to try it out. Download from the mediafire link by GottaBeMobile here.

I'm trying cyanogenmod 10.1 for the first time and was on ICE DS before.
Now in android 4.2.2 the included mail app differs from the one which was included in ICE DS.
Which app was in ICE DS and is it possible to get them working in CM10.1?
The one in cm is not as friendly as in ice ds. for example; only showing the unread mail from several folders.
The mail app in ice ds is part of the whole sense framework /environment, so I'm quite sure it's not possible to get it working on any cm rom.
You could look at mail Apps from play store, maybe there's something there you would like better than the stock cm one.
I have jelly bean 4.1.2 and in system/apps theres a velvet.apk with a blue icon with a white g in the middle of the blue icon does anyone know what it is used for on the htc one sv?

Oh ok thanks i just wanted to make sure it was not for talk to text as i use that to talk out txt messages while driving. I never have my hands on the phone while driving thats why i like that i can speak and it will type out the txt message for me.
Actually it is not the Google search app it is the successor to project butter, it was introduce in kitkat how you installed it on android 4.1.2 probably because you installed the gel launcher

In fact i also have that velvet.apk preinstalled on my 4.2.2 phone.
Velvet is google search. As seen at the top in the screenie... Why its called velvet is beyond me.

Hey guys, i extracted this from the ASUS Nexus 2012 version. It has the fancy material design makeover. Works without a flaw on Kitkat 4.4.4. It also gives the white look on the Google Now Launcher (supposedly called velvet). It is unhindered.

The one which has been posted till yet with the material design makeover is version 4.26. This one is 4.28.
What are the changes in this over one posted earlier? Any changelog?

I didnt install the 4.26 version hence cant supply you with the changelog.
All noticeable that i can see is that there are:
material design makeover
the hamburger slide draw
the GNL integration with the visual changes
i dont use google now but perhaps there maybe some noticeable changes with the reminders available in the slide navigation drawer.

Go to google settings > Search & Now > voice > "Ok Google Detection" and disable all the the voice detections. This fixed my force closes
