Looks like phone dialer apps not resetting/recovering after call. Usually due to limited RAM. Go to menu->Manage Apps and check free memory under "RUNNING" tab. If you have many "resident" apps like google+, google docs, facebook, skype, try deleting or killing them and make your call again to see if helps.
You can root your phone and flash good memory-management kernel such as Marmite for a more permanent solution. With root, you can remove bloated "system" apps that came with stock JB 4.1.2

My phone is rooted under the settings after my phone call I have about half the ram free if I clear the phone app data and force close the app problem still persists I'll try to flash a new radio see how it goes

Try Marmite Kernel - v3.2. It solved a lot of intermittent problem.
For CM10.0, use this CM version.

Try marmite with my stock ROM didnt help still only get one phone call

Hi,
Did you SuperWipe?
Did you let the ROM reboot after installation,BEFORE installing apps?
What kernel are you running?

Hi,
Every thing should be working with the setup you have.
When you restored TB apps, was there any system data that you might have installed.
Otherwise,I suggest re-download the ROM,check md5 checksum,then do a clean install.
No apps,and test the Bluetooth.
yes um...thanks for bringing that system data up.
Yes i did restore the system back up of my stock rom is that a problem?.
first i restored app+data then system data.
I've been a long time ARHD user up until last week. I switched to insertcoin because on ARHD, bluetooth works but people say I echo really bad and cuts out intermittently. But to me, they sound fine. I tried to make it work with ARHD and tried every kernel out there but still, people say I sound like crap. So far, insertcoin hasnt given me any problems.

How to troubleshoot issues

Ok I have been learning how to and moving forward with flashing different ROMs.
I am currently running a 2.3.6 GB on my Infuse.
I am looking to go to ICS however I want to understand better certain issues I am having with my phone.
Its not every time but I will click to open my applications and wait but nothing happens.
If I lock my screen and then re-open my applications will be there. (this part is consistent)
Now Im also getting a lot of Force Closes - I even uninstalled and re-installed applications and still get the same force close when I try to open with one exception where that fixed the problem.
I tried the fixed permissions from Recovery mode but that did not help.
So I have better than 50% of the time where my applications wont open but locking and unlocking causes it to pop open.
I have several applications that i keep getting force close on.
I also have times when things seem sluggish and times when I go to unlock my phone and its froze so that I have to pull the battery.
I use the Go Launcher and its utilities like Power Master and Task Master to manage battery and tasks and it seems to do a good job and has a lot of people recommending them.
What I would like is a way to be able to evaluate and determine what may be going on and resolve it.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
If one Rom doesn't work for you, try another one until you find one you can settle on for a while.
Remember to always do the appropriate wipes when switching roms, and be careful when restoring apps & data, as it can sometimes cause issues.
I would recommend to give JB a try if you haven't yet.

I was going to go to JB but have heard its still a bit buggy.
I used Go Backup to restore applications this time around.
I have used a variety of Backup and Restore options to include nandroid, Titanium, AppExtractor however Go Backup seemed to do my apps, sms, mms, contacts and so forth the best.
If you can refer a better process for application backup and restore when upgrading / changing ROMs Im all ears.
Not buggy for me. Cm10 & paranoid android are pretty solid.. have not tried the others but I believe they perform well too.
I use mybackup pro, just personal preference. I find it simple and works for me.

I have tried CNA , MIUI, PA, CM10 and Cypher AOKP ROM (my current one). All are pretty stable. Just be aware most, if not all, are MTD based and going back to ICS (different format) can be a process. Also back up EFS using Infuse toolkit just in case your IMEI disappears.

I suspect your problem is related to Go Launcher and the other Go apps, particularly if you are using one of their builds from the last 6 months. If I were you, I'd backup and do a full wipe and install of one of these GB ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523. Restore all your apps except the Go apps and see how things run. Go Launcher provides more functionality than any other free launcher, so you'll have to get used to that. I moved to the free ADW launcher when I was on GB - it's kind of simple, but there are some nice themes available for it.
Also, don't use the GO utilities!
Of course, you could move to a JB ROM. They are all pretty good and stable. JB, however, has some irritating bugs and some apps don't function properly on it. I'm using Paranoid Android 2.0. It's really good, but not quite as fast as the straight CM10...

Funny you should show those ROMs as I am using that very ROM - Option C version
Man I really like the Go Launcher and my wife doesnt seem to be having a problem with it.
Oh well I was looking to maybe make the move up to ICS so maybe I will do that tonight.
Also can you use Heimdal to install those packages or just Odin?

Neither. I believe ODIN and Heimdall are more for recovery.
If you have GB now, download the ROM(s) to your phone and go to CWM and install the zip. Make sure you follow the instructions on the OP of the ROM (wipe/factory reset, etc). Don't forget to install GAPPS too.
And if you want to flash JB, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1878458 (great guide, also shows how to go from GB to ICS first...follow those instructions).

Ok I was reviewing the link you gave to upgrade and had a couple of questions.
9. Flash ICS, then ICS Gapps - this step refers to ICS Gapps
Once it boots into ICS, turn off and remove your external sdcard.- Why do you have to pull your external sdcard?
The in the section for going to JB it says
5. Flash Gapps - Is this a different Gapps file?
Just curious...
Having the SD card has been known to cause problems...best to remove...you can put it in later. ICS and JB have different GAPPS. Look for the link to the correct GAPPS on the IP of the ROM you decide to use.

My USB drivers say USB Composite Device. If you are going to leap from ICS to JB, it probably doesn't matter which one you flash...most of them are really good (I used UNi-yuma-PoRN when I was on ICS). I have used several of the JB's and everyone likes what they like. Try them all and see which one you like best.

Ok I went to look up your yuma.
I found it however when I click to download it says it couldnt find it.
Is the gapp just based on the flavor ie. gapp for ICS, gapp for JB and so forth or are they more specific to the ROM?
Hopefully can flash one tonight but if not - tomorrow.

ICS GAPPS were used across the ICS ROMs. Some played around and created inverted GAPPS (black screen, white letters) but ICS had GAPPs and JB has GAPPS. Not sure why...probably due to the different file formats.
Also the mirror in the first link on the OP is down...some upgrades. Try the other mirror

[Q] Atrix 2 Dialler Not Working

Hi,
I have been using Atrix 2 for almost 4 months now and i was very happy with it. I also a got an OTA to ICS. But recently my dialer/phone is not working properly. Whenever i press the dial button for any contact it takes almost 5 to 10 mins to dial that number and during that time even the back button wont work in the dialer/phone. But all other apps seem to work fine. I am unable to make calls properly as it takes too long nearly 10 mins to dial that number. I tried restarting the phone and also uninstalled few apps which i thought might be cause. But nothing seems to fix the problem.
When i do a factory reset then it works fine for almost a day and the same problem repeats again. Details are given below,
Phone: Atrix 2
OS: Andriod 4.0.4
Root: Not Rooted.
Please help me fix this problem.

You're on a completely stock system right? Definitely weird, since you have no root and stock recovery, and factory reset doesn't fix it. Then I would suggest fxz a clean system. You can check the noob guide for more info about how to do it, and which fxz you need.

[Q] Infuse ICS

Sorry if this is a repeat but I can't seem to find a similar problem. After staying on froyo for 2 years my phone started to slow down and give random application errors. I decided to try a new rom for the first time. I tried installing clockworkmod recovery and almost bricked my phone. A flash with gingerbread using odin got a working os on my infuse again. This came with red recovery already installed. For 2 weeks I used this rom and found that my dataconnection was super slow, random app errors and almost no wifi reception drove me to try something else. I flashed gingerbread bootloaders to get rid of the rainbow recovery(literally could not see a thing in recovery) and factory reset, cleared cache and flashed CWM 9 for infuse this post. This rom is running fast, data and wifi are great but there is a serious error. When I make a call, after selecting the number to call the screen goes black and unresponsive. No amount of button pushing will bring it back. Also you can see that the IR light on the front of the phone next to the phone turns on. The call is made and when the recipeint hangs up the phone will come back. If there is no cell signal this does not happen, the call screen normally appears and you can cancel the call. I have cleared cache, wiped data and dalvik cache, then reflashed this rom and the problem persists. I also downloaded a 3rd party dialer which displays the same symtoms. Is there a way to fix this? Is there a better rom to use? Any suggested workarounds would be nice. I would just like to get my phone back to a stable working os as I use it for android development. Some things specific to my situation: I live in Poland now. My phone is unlocked from ATT&T to work on european networks. This was working fine on froyo. I would post this on the developer thread but I don't have permission to do so yet. Thanks in advanced for any help/suggestions.
Go to delopment section and find cm10.1 by scott hart and odin back to stock with root/cmw follow instruction exactly the way the are coming from stock and should be good to go. And install GB bootloaders it will take care of not seeing recovery clearly and u can find how tos in stickies in delopment(I think) but do or research before u ask a lot of question and post bug. Its a good idea to read last 3-10 pages on a tom or going to install to know if there are any major issues or bugs.
This is just advise I have done what I telling and have not problems but i am not responsible if u brick ur phone

Thanks for the help. I did try a different dialer which I downloaded from the market, but it had the same problems. I have already moved on to Jelly Bean and so far everything is working great. One problem that I still have is my Titanium Backup of my contacts wont work. This happened in ICS as well. Titanium says it works and suggests a reboot. After rebooting still no contacts. Unfortunately I didn't have these contacts synced with my Google account. Any ideas on how to extract the contact information from titanium and import it to the contacts app? I know the backup is good, I was able to use it when I updated to Ginger Bread.

I've got an idea, I think my problem is because I didn't make a fresh backup after I flashed ginger bread. I think the 'contacts' app must have changed database formats between froyo and ICS. If I were able to take that backup file and load it into an AVD, then restore my contacts and export them to my gmail account I think I could recover them on my phone without reflashing GB to do a fresh/compatible backup. Do you think it's possible or would most likely fail. I've never tried to bring files into an AVD but I do know that I have internet connectivity while debugging apps. It seems possible that I should be able to send files to the AVD as well.

Looking to Update Software to Most Recent Version

I have a rooted Verizon device that is running stock 4.1.2, since I have the unlimited data and use the free hotspot toggle.
Well, almost none of the current apps works with my phone anymore, its getting very frustrating. I'd like to unroot my phone and just get to the most recent software, then buy Foxfi for the hotspot...will that work?
Is there a better option? Can I upgrade the software without unrooting ?
Any help would be apprecaited, thanks!

If you want to take the OTA update you will need to unroot. I would highly advise against this as you will permanently lock your bootloader down but if that's what you choose then so be it

I see foxfi hasn't been updated in the play store in nearly 3 years. Some roms have the Hotspot feature built in as far as what roms have it built in, as far as newer roms that much I don't know. I'm running the last build of CleanRom and its built in.
I understand a lot of apps currently require a newer version of Android to run. My suggestion would be to check out the development forums for the VZW S3 and see which roms have it built in rather than having to buy the app itself

I tried reading up, but this seems intimidating. Maybe you can point me in the right direction...my ONLY needs are a working camera (slow motion would be VERY nice to have if available), hotspot tether that I can use without paying the monthly fee (I have unlimited data), and software version that actually works with apps from the playstore.
As far as I know, I have 4.1.2 software, unlocked bootloader and I'm rooted.

I dont' really care at all, just one that will work with apps from the play store. Most apps now need at least version 4.2.....I'd like to be on the newest version I can be that has a working camera and hotspot....i'm assuming if I go to a ROM i can still use apps from the play store?

Of course. I hardly ever run stock on any of my devices. I think my N6 is the only one but it's customized. CleanRom is on version 4.3 I'm not sure about AllianceRom which I also have uploaded to my AFH account

I'll also chime in. If OP is looking to update his phone, there are 2 paths. The stock path, which will be up to KitKat based roms (android 4.4) because that was the last update the S3 ever received. You could install something like superliterom (found in our android developement thread). But from your needs (hotspot, and camera) you can go all the way on to marshmallow (android 6) using CM13 which is what I'm running. The only bugs now are bluetooth (it may crash if you're playing music through bluetooth and receiving a call through bluetooth like in a car for example), gps is slow to lock (which is a problem is most of the CM roms), and some minor front camera bugs ie. instagram will crash, but every other camera and video camera/video calling app will work that I've tried. If I was in your shoes, I would try CM13 to see if you like it, and then bounce down from there to a 4.4 or 4.3 rom as a solid 2nd or third choice. I went from cleanrom, to alliance 4.3, to cm12.1 (I could never get gps to lock on this, but everything else worked), to cm13. They are all solid. Even something like slimkat 4.4 has pretty good reviews. But don't ever take the OTA update...there is no point in that now besides locking your phone forever and limiting the usability of your phone.
I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question, but if I install cm13 will I lose all my text messages, emails, app settings, etc.??

Yes. I wouldn't suggest updating to a newer rom without wiping the internal storage. You could always backup text messages. Emails automatically save to the Gmail app and the app settings well that can't be recovered but you could always set it the way it was previously

Correct. You can use third party apps as well. I've been using one for years and it catches call logs also

Ok, so I've downloaded "Oct-M-R1-6.0.1 for d2vzw", the MD5 checksum, and "open_gapps-arm-6.0-stock-20160806".
I have just installed TWRP 3.0.2 on my device and it appears to be working.
Now what?
Put the files onto my microsd or onto my phone storage?
Install from TWRP and that's it?
I have titanium backup, should I run that first? OR is there a backup option from twrp??
VERY specific directions would be appreciated! Thanks LOL
PS - One last thing, what developer options need to be checked or unchecked if any in my phone settings.

In developer options you really only need to enable USB debugging.
As far as installing the rom putting it on your SD card should be efficient or once in TWRP you can mount the internal and move it into there if connected to a pc. As far as installing it's pretty straight forward.
Wipe internal completely but DO NOT wipe your SD card. Install the zip first then gapps and ensure you wipe cache and dalvik. Once done reboot and let the device sit for about 10 minutes without touching it to let the rom settle down, once done just reinstall everything. I do not recommend to install apps via titanium backup (i.e. Data for those apps) anymore questions feel free to ask

Ok, I started the process. Did my backup from twrp and then installed the zip from my sd and gapp at same time...phone has been in a boot loop for about an hour....every now and then it says "Android Starting - optimizing apps", then starting apps....should i just keep waiting or redo it???

The rom may of not played well with the device. I installed lollipop on my S3 and it was quite slow. I'd say restore the backup but you can try installing it again but I forewarn you that it may just not work at all

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I restored my version, worked fine...then tried again and got boot loop again...back to my 4.1.2 for now until I can figure it out. Second time I went into advanced and wiped the system, too...didn't help.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated....could I have a bad zip file?
I came across this link https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d2vzw , which should I download? What's the difference between all of these versions? Nightly vs. Snapshot vs. Stable? Also, what is the "Release" and the "Recovery"
