[Q] Mobistel Cynus Jellybean ROM on Micromax A110 issue - Micromax A110

Hello guys, I have recently flashed Jellybean ROM by Mobistel on my Micromax A110. Everything is working flawlessly, except the camera. Micromax A110 has a 8 MP main camera, and Mobistel boasts 12 MP with almost the same hardware. The expected result is that we can take nominal 12 MP photos with the device that would only have larger size. But here in my case, I see again and again that the photo quality has degraded. Previously, I ran Mobistel Cynus T2 ROM (ICS) and it too had had a 12 MP camera, but I could easily replace it with Micromax's stock camera apk from V2 ROM. Also, while the default camera could shoot upto 12 MP photos, any camera app such as Camera MX, FXCamera etc. all had 8 MP max camera, and enjoyed sharpness and clarity.
But now, on this new ROM, camera clarity has degraded, and even if I change resolution to 8 MP, there is not much improvement. I have however flashed 4.2 stock camera and it is working slightly better, but still clarity is not as expected. I flashed two extra ROMs (JB), DrBhokali and Jalebi (JMP), but they did not change camera app. Any help?

Micromax A116 HD

Please rate MicroMax A116:
Design and build
Compared to the A110, we’re happy to report the A116 scores much higher in the build quality department. The front looks similar, but the rear cover now has a glossy finish with a fine sprinkle of pixie dust. This gives it a nice shine and also manages to conceal quite a bit of fingerprints. The entire handset bears a striking resemblance to the HTC One X, so it scores high on aesthetics as well. The battery cover is easy to remove thanks to the soft plastic. Inside, we have two GSM SIM slots with the microSD card slot in between. None of these are hot-swappable and you’ll need to remove the battery to insert the cards. The power and volume rocker buttons assume their usual place on either side of the handset and are easy to reach. The headphone jack and microUSB port are placed on the top. The Canvas HD is slightly narrower than the A110 thanks to the smaller bezel around the screen; it is lighter as well at 157 g. The handset is quite comfortable even if you don’t have large hands and fits snugly in your pocket. You’ll want to be careful where you place your phone, though, as the protruding camera lens could get scratched easily. Overall, we really like what Micromax has achieved here; it is definitely a step above the its previous offering.
Features
Interface
IPS panel makes a return in the Canvas HD, but instead of a lowly WVGA resolution, the A116 boasts of an impressive HD (1280 x 720) resolution, which makes all the difference in the world. Text is sharper, images are more vivid and crisp and the UI simply looks better. The panel itself has good viewing angles along with good colours. However, we noticed that the videos didn’t have the same level of vividness as photos. All our test videos and the ones we shot had weak black levels and the contrast was quite low, so it appears as if there’s a white haze throughout. We only faced this during video playback and through any video player. The A116 features a lightly-modified Jelly Bean 4.1.2. You get notification toggles and extra settings in the menu to configure the two SIM cards. The Canvas HD is powered by the MediaTek MT6589 quad-core SoC. This is made up of four ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs running at 1.2GHz and a PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. The SoC is fabricated using the 28nm process, so it should sip power rather than gulp it down. The chipset also houses the baseband radios, so there’s no need for a second chip. This budget oriented SoC packs in quite a punch as well. In benchmarks, the Canvas HD is right on the heels of the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S III. We got an impressive 13043 points in AnTuTu and 4004 points in Quadrant, which is pretty good. All this power, along with a whole 1GB of RAM, translates well into real world performance. The UI is incredibly smooth with the occasional lag creeping in. Apps open and close quickly and games like Temple Run 2 and Angry Birds Space run smoothly. Even while running these heavy tasks, the phone gets warm at the most.
Media
Music playback is handled by the stock Jelly Bean player. The quality of audio is strictly average at first, but sounds good with a little equaliser tweaking. The rear speaker is quite loud, so you won’t miss any of the alerts even in a noisy place. You get 4GB of internal memory and a slot for expanding it up to 32GB. Video playback is much better this time around. The custom video player supports MKV files as well and the A116 handles 1080p video smoothly. There is a very minute lag that creeps during playback, but it’s barely noticeable.
Connectivity
The Canvas HD only supports two bands for 2G and just one for 3G. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi ‘n’, Bluetooth v4.0 and USB plug-and-play support. Other than the Play Store, Micromax also bundles its M! Store and M!Zone for added content. The bundled apps include some games like Cricket Fever, Fruit Devil along with some productivity apps like File Manager, M! Buddy and HookUp.
Camera
The 8MP shooter seems to have been lifted from the A110, albeit with a slightly different interface. There’s the usual selection of exposure, colour effect, scene modes and white balance. For stills, the camera is also capable of burst mode, up to 99 shots. Unlike the One X, holding down the shutter button doesn’t kick-start burst mode immediately. There’s a little lag and that’s mainly due to the focus speed being a little slow. Even for macro shots, the camera takes more than a couple of seconds to focus before it’s ready to capture. The image quality is pretty good for indoor and outdoor shots. The sensor is able to pick up decent amount of detail and accurate colours. Once you zoom in to 100 percent, the details get a bit hazy, but that’s to be expected from a camera at this price point.
The funny thing is, Micromax claims that the A116 is limited to 720 video when it easily manages to record in 1080p if the video quality is set to "Fine". The video container used is 3GP and moving objects in the video don’t have a very smooth motion as it’s not 30fps at this resolution. It's still passable, however, and 720p video fares a lot better.
Battery life
This was an area of concern for many from the time Micromax announced the A116. A 2000mAh battery powering a 5-inch HD screen and a quad-core SoC did not sound very good. Surprisingly, the Canvas HD managed to deliver 7-hours and 45-minutes of continues video playback. This translates to roughly 14-hours of real world usage, which is not bad all things considered.
Verdict and price in India
The Micromax A116 Canvas HD is available for a bargain price of Rs.13,990, which easily makes it the most powerful smartphone under Rs.15,000 right now. The best part is the powerful specifications on paper actually translate well into real world performance, which makes this very usable as a primary phone. The Canvas HD is lighter and slimmer than the A110, has a much better screen, comes with Jelly Bean, packs in a powerful SoC, 1080p video recording and playback and a surprisingly decent battery life. This makes it a steal at this price point, so no wonder it’s sold out everywhere. Apart from the lack of an OTA update option and the video playback looking a bit dull, there’s very little to complain about here. While we highly recommend the Canvas HD if you can find it, we’re really eager to see XOLO’s A1000. This handset is priced the same as the A116 but features a dual-core SoC instead of quad-core. While this does limit the video playback capabilities to 720p, we should get better battery life and based on XOLO’s previous offerings, we should expect better build and finish as well. It also has the awesome BSI sensor we saw in the A800. For now, the Micromax A116 Canvas HD is the handset to beat in the mid-range price bracket.
i want to know capabilities of IPS capacitive screen installed in Canvas a116.

i prefer samsung mobiles <>.
its quad core gives around 70% performance compared to flagship devices like S3 at less than half of its price.
how is it different from a110
I read a review of Micromax Canvas HD and they are saying Micromax Canvas HD A116 is a really attractive handset, both feature wise as well as in terms of performance. I have not enjoyed my games and videos any more on a smartphone that costs less than Rs 15,000 as I did on this handset. Read full review:-

mmx a116 is nice having 1 gb ram i have mmx a110 recently purchased its an awsome mobile so a116 is definitely a good choice
MMX 116
Question here is the built quality of the phone. I did not like the plastics used in A110. But that said, you can't expect a below Rs.15k phone to have all features of a phone which is around Rs.35k
Stop discussion and start development

[Q] 12 MP Camera Patch for all 4.2 ROMs

How can i increase the camera clarity for all 4.2 roms in 12mp

[Q] which has better camera Xolo q1010i, Micromax Yu Yureka, Xiaomi Redmi Note

Hello guys need a little help
in Xolo q1010i, Micromax Yu Yureka, Xiaomi Redmi Note [Dual Sim] which has better camera ??
Xolo Q1010i has 8MP Rear with Sony Exmor R Sensor with 5-element lens
Micromax Yu Yureka has 13 MP Rear Sony IMX135 Exmor RS Sensor with 5-element lens
Xiaomi Redmi Note has 13 MP Rear Q13S01B Sunny N1404 CMOS BSI Sensor without 5-element lens & comes with wide 28mm angle.
I understand the 5P lens produces better and finer picture quality and I noticed Sony's Exmor R Sensor works better at low light than Sony Exmor RS Sensor [given the fact that Exmor RS is a newer sensor compared to Exmor R].
It seems like even Redmi Note has a good camera with wider angle but probably is not upto the mark under low light condition compared to Exmor Sensors ??
Which phone has a better camera for taking pics among these 3 models ?
camera experts help
Have look at the Yu Yureka's camera for yourself
Hey! For those wondering how the camera on the Yureka really is, here's a screencast of the same so that you get a feel of what it really is! youtu.be/oSkgd8jwCKs
I'm not allowed to post links so please add http:/ in front of the above address to view.
Else search for screen cast recordings on youtube of each phone. You'll get a feel of how the camera really is

The myth of the 48mp camera

I want to ask anyone who knows if it is possible to get from a 48mp sensor, a raw (DNG) file with resolution only 12mp. This phone has a 48mp jpeg option but no raw. All other apps can give raw files but only 12mp.
I made a test. Took 3 images with mi note 2 (23mp), rn7p, and Asus zenphone laser (13mp). I posted a 250% crop of the 3 images and a detail of this crop. The xiaomi"s phones images are from gcam .From the result anyone can see that the details of the rdn7p are equal (if not worse) with the Asus pfone, while the mi note 2 is far more clear. And if you shoot with the 48mp option you won't get a better file in details than the 12 mp photo mode.
So, for me it is hard to accept that there is a 48 mp sensor in rdn7pro unleess someone can explain the questions above.
Every opinion is valuable.
Bro I believe that the Camera is not very much impressive it needs a lot of improvement. Whereas, if you talk about GoogleCamera, it is not a stable build so not to expect more. I was having note 5 pro and compared with the rn7pro picture than i felt no difference, unfortunately the picture was a little bit clear in rn5pro instead of rn7pro. So i think that Xiaomi has to do alot more to improvement in its camera optimisations and you must wait for stable build of gcam which click satisfying images. ?
Anyway, my question has not to do with the quality but with the ability to get a 48mp dng file. All apps give 12 mp dng files
Although Gcam let u choose 48 Mp, the photo is 12 Mp.
Stock camera make real 48 Mp photos (at least on my chinese unit)

Question Does custom ROM supports all camera setup (eg: 48 megapixels, ultrawide, macro camera)?

Since August 2021, I have brought Poco X3 Pro just for fun like gaming and social media like Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc and at that time, I use MIUI 12.5 at that time of the purchase.
The camera is just "OK" with decent 48 megapixels with ultrawide and very bad macro camera quality (possibly 2 megapixels?) and up to 20 megapixels selfie camera.
But since I'm very frustrated with the MIUI because of bugs I have experience like Genshin Impact sometimes intermittently crashed without any warnings and at some point have a few noticeable lag quite sometimes, I immediately try to install custom ROM instead of using original MIUI ROM.
But there are downsides... The camera!
I did notice that MIUI original ROM which comes with better camera UI compared to custom ROMs camera UI. Plus, I can't get fully potential 48 megapixels camera, including 8 megapixels ultrawide and 2 megapixels macro camera with 20 megapixels selfie camera.
What I only get in most custom ROM camera UI is 12 megapixels for rear and 5 megapixels for front (selfie) camera.
Got any ways to get full quality 48 megapixels (rear) and 20 megapixels (selfie) including supporting macro and ultrawide 8 megapixels?
I try to find random app from Play Store and 3rd party store (like Open Camera, etc) but I didn't find what I really wanted for the custom ROM that I installed like dotOS, LineageOS and currently Evolution X.
I still find random ways to get few things working on camera. But I don't mind for face unlock features because it is optional to me at the moment.
you might want to try mo modified stock rom check it on your next post
crdroid 8.4 rom has stock miui cam and stock android experiences without gapps
Why don't you use anx camera?
