I can't lock on the HTCdev side to unlock the bootloader. I only got windows 8, and can't lock on. Any other way to unlock the bootloader?

where does your unlock stuck?
I'm on W8 too and unlocked two One s via HTC Dev without any problems.
Be sure you have installed the latest HTC Sync driver and be sure you have admin rights.
It may take some time till HTC send the unlock_token to you. It can take 1min but It can take a few hours too.

Hey guys, I just got the awesome One S and looking to root it asap. Is there a root method that doesn't give you the TAMPERED notice in case I need to replace the phone?

NO,
You need to flash stock image, bootloader will stay unlocked. That should not be an issue.
The stock images are floating around sub-forum, maybe just do a search/google. Or someone will give you a link
Hmm so basically what you're saying is that I can return/replace the phone as long as I flash back to stock even if the bootloader is unlocked? I want to be sure before I go flash happy on it.

nothing is for sure
but htc allows bootloader unlock, would think if it is a hardware issue, it wouldn't be a problem
never count on it though
No doubt, I figured as much too. Thanks rugmankc, I'll wait a little longer then.

The tampering message comes up no matter what. No matter if your boot loader is unlocked. It's the unlock unlock bootloadet message parts that you need to worry about. If I'm not mistaken there a relock command code to relock it. Just fellow the unlock bootloader directions but at the end change the unlock command to the relock command.

But from what I've read, even if you relock it, it still says "Relocked" as opposed to "Locked". Is that correct?
Don't know
yeah i think i'll wait until there's a work around for this.

You can get rid of the ***TAMPERED*** message if you need to return to HTC
I tried this myself yesterday...just for my own piece of mind
Flash your phone back to recovery.img
Relock your bootloader
Run the RUU for your phone
I'm waiting my self for a complete tool to fix the tampered and relocked sign

I relocked my bootloader so I could get back to stock from soft brick. I changed to super cid and reulocked it, but it still says relocked. Now when I try to unlock it again I get an error from command prompt. Is it really locked still and what can I do to reunlock it if is. Thanks

try getting into bootloader with the phone plugged up to computer. sometimes the token wont take when its plugged up to computer.
The token took and sent me to the unlock bootloader prompt, but now when I run the unlock token thru cmd it gives me an error message, something about the unlock token itself, also did this when trying to flash recovery.

if your already supercid you dont go through the supercid process again. the token should always work though. just try again and again. get into bootloader manually then plug phone into computer and do it.
Should I try bootloader oem unlock since the unlock token isn't working, and its supposed to be unlocked. I ran the htcdev instructed command successfully and chose to allow unlock on my phone once but it still says relocked

so what happended? I am having the same problem and can't figure it out. Let me know if you got it re-unlocked and how.
Sometimes the unlock codes need a few attempts to take. Try disconnecting your phone and shutting it down, then restart and try again. That worked for me.
I ahve been through all the instructions on the HTC website and I get stuck at the last step

I wanted to root my phone and apparently I have to unlock it using the HTCdev boatloader first but I can't.
It says on HTCdev that I have to select the "Fastboot" option from the boatloader but I can't select anything. It shows the options for a second then it switches to this automatically:
postimage.org/w57u6jjh5/photo.jpg I can't put the full link because xda forums doesn't allow to post links until after 10 days but just copy that and put it in your browser.
(I got this picture somewhere from the internet but it's exactly what I see on my device).
After that, it says something like "Failed. Press Power to Reboot." Help?
Mine keeps doing the same thing... Very frustrating!!!

Anyone know how to solve log in loop on HTCDev ?
I've tried to unlock my HTC Desire C's bootloader.
But it asked me to sign in whenever I try to click 'Begin Unlock Bootloader'(even I've sigened in).
Can anyone help me to solve this and unlock my Bootloader ?

make sure that you register to htcdev and if it is ok with you, I can help you over teamviever.

Hi
I was wondering if I unlock the BL then put custom recovery, can I re-lock it and make it 100% stock again? can HTC knows I unlocked it beside checking with their database? I mean is there a text like samsung's devices says this user had unlocked his device before or it will return 100% stock without any trace?
thanks in advance

Hi,
once unlocked, locking the the bootloader - e.g. after flashing a RUU to go back to stock - will son relocked instead of locked. As if this HTC will be able to see that you unlocked only by looking into download mode to find out.
Only device able to set the status back to locked as of now is the HTC 10 when using SunShine with the proper choice of option. Nothing to do about any other HTC device as far as I know of, where it'll say relocked.
