"SIM card inserted" annoying message - HTC One S

Hi,
Since some time ago I have a message notification saying "SIM card inserted. Would you like to install operator software? Yes or Not now". If I chose Yes the launcher (HTC Sense) got restored to default but after a while the message is back! If I chose "not now" it is back in a while...
I think this is happening since JB. I tried 3 different roms and it happens in all of them. I even asked for a new SIM card but it's happening too. Do you know how to get rid of these messages? I tried an app (USSD Disabler) but it doesn't seem to work...
Thanks!

SD card wont mount...

So i was on a call the other day, finished the call and backed out of phone app. Then i saw "sd card removed unexpectedly" in notification bar. So i go to check card through astro and says card not mounted. If i go to settings>sd storage and hit mount card, it just grays out the option. The card is still readable in my laptop and doesnt contain any errors. I formatted a fresh card and put that in and same thing. I've tried wiping, factory reset, reflashing rom, all with same results. Card will not mount in recovery either.
Just cant figure it out. Is it a hardware issue? Software? Why all of a sudden?
For the record i'm running sky raider 1.3. I had the darkhorse theme on there until the day before when i reflashed the rom due to a font color thing i didnt like. The only other thing i did was went into the build.prop file and changed the call screen from 3.0 to 2.1 to avoid the call screen bug. Which i did previously when installing skyraider.
I did do a search and couldn't find any results to be helpful to my situation. If anyone can help please let me know.
I dont know if this will help you or not, but my buddy bought a tbolt from craigslist, and it absolutely would not read the sd card either. I even took it apart just to check the slot etc. Eventually i exhausted everything I could think of and ended up running an RUU. For some reason that fixed it.... Good luck.
Thanks, i'll consider it. But flashing anything without an sd crad is a pain in the ass!

"SD Card Removed" problem on HTC Desire S... WhatsApp causing problem?

Hi Folks,
I installed WhatsApp Messenger on my Desire S, and a day later, it said, "The Date and Time on your device is incorrect!", although the time and date was correct. Next thing I know, my SD card (Samsung, 8Gb came with the device) was non-existent! The phone kept saying "Removed SD Card. Insert a new one."
I purchased a new 8Gb Sandisk, but that too is not recognized in the phone. One one or two occasions, it said "SD card corrupt. Please reformat."
Having checked on many forums, I found that WhatsApp could be the problem app.. I have uninstalled it, but no luck. Tried everything, except Factory Reset.
My Desire S is not rooted. Have the latest of updates, kernels, whatever....
Am a noob, so please tell me if any additional info is needed regarding my phone and the software...
Thanks in advance
Rajan
As for watsapp, my locale time is malaysia which i did not change at start-up setting after flashing a new rom over it(it was preset to greenwich). I installed watsapp and restored previous messages and had the same error as u.
- Did u fiddle around with the time/backup prior to this error?
Have u try formatting the sd card on ur pc?
Are u still under warranty? If yes restraint from rooting it. Just do a factory reset(back up ur app using astro manager / backup contacts using google / back up whatever else u feel important such as notes, dates, sms, etc), if problem persist, then return it.

Dear Rain987: No I didn't change any time or date on my phone. I just ignored and dismissed the message. I haven't tried formatting the sd card, because I tried inserting a new Sandisk 8gb card, but that too wasn't recognised.
This morning I did a factory reset, having backed up whatever I could. Still didn't work. Neither the old card, nor the new card is being recognised. Still getting the same message: "SD card removed. Insert a new one."
Thanks

Hey Peeps!,
I'm having a similar problem with my htc desire (this problem occurs almost weekly) "sd card mounted read only". Usually a factory reset or re-format would sort it. This time neither my desire, wildfire s, blackberry torch or my windows laptop would recognize it?? how can i format if nothing detects the sd card?? the phone does detect but says mounted read only (also cant unmount as that option isn't even available) but nothing else DETECTS its there???? i am a noob so any detailed help would be much appreciated.......Thanks

Update on WhatsApp problem
Hello
Update: I surrendered the phone to HTC in Pune, India, and they said that the phone was water-logged! The motherboard needed to be replaced, and it will cost Rs 11,000 (Indian Rupees)... The original phone cost me Rs 22,000
I refused, and found a 'hacker' who said he would repair it for Rs 1,500! I agreed and it's done It turned out that the HTC guys were actually right - a part of the motherboard had shorted out due to perspiration which seeped in through the earpiece...
The 'hacker' replaced a part of the m'board with another part from a Motorola m'board
My HTC Desire S is as good as new now.
But truth to tell, WhatsApp is still giving me trouble. My friends tell me that my status on WhatsApp (online or not online) is often wrong, and the messages arrive very late.
Thank you
Rajan

Google Wallet 1.5-R79-v5

I have a Nexus S i9020t (soju) with 4.1.1 (JRO03E) (stock and no root) on T-Mobile.
I did a "Reset" in 1.5-R75-v6, removed the app, reboot, and installed 1.5-R79-v5. It only let me add the pre-paid card back. I get an error when I try to add AMEX or VISA card. I also got an error trying to remove the pre-paid card.
I did another reset in this version and went back to 1.5-R75-v6. Then I added all my cards and installed 1.5-R79-v5 on top of 1.5-R75-v6.
I have not tried to use it yet, but was wondering if anyone else had issues with the new market version?
Used it today. It gave me the "Check with the cashier" message, but it went through with my AMEX card.

Unable to write to external storage problem

After updating to MM, many a times i get a pop up error saying "Unable to write to external storage", any idea why?
Im using my sd card as a portable one and its working pretty fine.
Every time i make a phone call this error pops up, and at other instances as well.

SIM not detected anymore disabling a SIM

I have Oneplus 8T with Android 13.
My SIM was on Slot 2 yesterday. Then I accidentally clicked on "Disable SIM".
Now it says "No eSIM" "Disable eSIM to u.." (it only shows second line partially) when I insert it in Slot 2.
When I insert it in Slot 1, it says "No SIM card detected".
Note:
1. If I use any other SIM, it works on either slots.
2. When I this SIM on other android phones or even a feature phone, it works correctly without any issue whatsoever.
3. I've already tried the "Reset Network Settings" feature. Ideally I don't want to reset my phone completely
Have the same issue too, can't figure out any way to fix other than getting them to send out a new SIM card each time...
Anyone else have any other ideas?
(Edit, just realised this is on a 8T forum, mines a 9 Pro... seems to affect lots of OP devices)
I factory reset the device - SIM starts working immediately. Disable SIM 1 and the phone instantly forgets it again...
Back to wiping it all over again. Thought I'd rather test it now before I set it all up

Try deleting data for the settings app
[GUIDE][ROOT][FIX] Re-enable disabled eSIM.me card when no sim card is detected. (may work for all sim cards)
So. This seem to be a rare but still unresolved problem effecting users on all brands of phones using eSIM.me sim cards. Google does not turn up much other than the typical 5-9 steps including re-seating your card, restarting your phone and...
