SIM not detected anymore disabling a SIM - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

I have Oneplus 8T with Android 13.
My SIM was on Slot 2 yesterday. Then I accidentally clicked on "Disable SIM".
Now it says "No eSIM" "Disable eSIM to u.." (it only shows second line partially) when I insert it in Slot 2.
When I insert it in Slot 1, it says "No SIM card detected".
Note:
1. If I use any other SIM, it works on either slots.
2. When I this SIM on other android phones or even a feature phone, it works correctly without any issue whatsoever.
3. I've already tried the "Reset Network Settings" feature. Ideally I don't want to reset my phone completely

Have the same issue too, can't figure out any way to fix other than getting them to send out a new SIM card each time...
Anyone else have any other ideas?
(Edit, just realised this is on a 8T forum, mines a 9 Pro... seems to affect lots of OP devices)

I factory reset the device - SIM starts working immediately. Disable SIM 1 and the phone instantly forgets it again...
Back to wiping it all over again. Thought I'd rather test it now before I set it all up

SIM card reading error. PLEASE HELP, im driving crazy.

Hi there!
So i got a NEXUS 5 32GB.
Short story: i had an old SIM card, like 5-10 year old, when i bought the phone. I cut the card into microsim, and worked like a charm. (You know, nexus stuff when no service sometimes like once in a week (restart solved always the problem)). Now i contracted with a new service provider, and the (3in1) micro sim i get is unreadable to the phone.
Detials:
-The new card working in other phones without problem.
-I went to my carrier and get a new sim card, doesnt work either. (so the sim card(s) not defected)
-Tried different SIM cards in my phone-> working only the old SIM cards, new micro sims doesnt
-Tried almost every softwere stuff, (factory reset, FR in recovery mode, flashing 4.4 android, flashing other androids, flashed radio files etc.etc) ->non of them worked.
-We disassembled the phone, the sim reader is looking perfect, not a scratch, all pins in order etc.
-THE MAIN problem: however i insert the new card(s), phone says only "No sim card, emergency call only". Can't even set up the mobile services, nothing. Only can turn on-off the NFC, Airplane mode etc.
-When inserting the old cutted card, works perfectly.
I'm paying now for 2month for the new card, but can't use it....
Please help me!!!
Any kind of help will be appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Have a nice day.
PS.: Sorry for my english, i'm from Hungary.

2nd SIM disables WiFi

Hello everybody,
I experience a quite annoying misbehaviour of my S7 Duos: For three days now, when I have a second SIM card in use, the wifi is disabled and wont turn on whatsover (tried anything, from stop&restart data, bluetooth, up to factory reset). Has anybody experienced something similar?
Wifi would work with no SIM, SIM 1 in use, SD alone in use or SIM 1 & SD in use. But not with both SIM slots or 2nd SIM slot in use, regardless of SIM card (I've checked with several SIM cards, it's the slot not the card).
Please give me a hint.
Thank you!

No SIM card detected after reboot

Hey, is anyone else experiencing this problem? I believe it is a software problem as I just bought the POCO X3 NFC and the SIM was working fine, but when I rebooted the phone, it didn't detect any SIM card. It still detected the SD card though. After rebooting several times and taking the SIM tray in and out several times, the phone suddenly detected the SIM and everything worked fine. The next day I reinstalled MIUI 12, thinking that it may just be a bug as it seems it is a software problem, but upon rebooting the phone the same thing happened. I attempted rebooting and taking the SIM tray out multiple times, this time with no luck. I took out my SD card and put the SIM in that part of the tray and it now works more consistently, but still will not always detect the SIM after reboot and I must reboot and take the tray out until it works. Also I can't put the SD card in now. Any ideas?
What makes you think that it's a software related problem? I don't think there's much software behind simply detecting a sim card and you already said that changing to the second sim tray has helped a bit. I'd RMA that phone if I was you
Because it only happened when rebooting, once it detected it, there where no problems. If it was a hardware problem, it would probably have not detected aside from just rebooting right?
I'm facing ditto same problem bro can anyone gemme solution please

Intermittent mobile phone & data disconnects

Hi,
a few days ago, my Mi Mix 2S started to fail connecting the mobile network for phone & data. I had two SIM cards and every few minutes, I get a notificaton on SIM card change, asking me to choose which one to use for data.
I removed one of the SIM cards and tried using only one card in either of the two slots. Whatever I do, after a few minutes, the mobile connection goes down. I can enable and disable airline mode to force a new connection, and typically, I will get connected again for a few minutes, before it goes down again. This happens on both cards, so I don't think the issue is in the card.
Any ideas? What else could I try?

[GUIDE][ROOT][FIX] Re-enable disabled eSIM.me card when no sim card is detected. (may work for all sim cards)

So. This seem to be a rare but still unresolved problem effecting users on all brands of phones using eSIM.me sim cards. Google does not turn up much other than the typical 5-9 steps including re-seating your card, restarting your phone and eventually the last resort... resetting your phone. One of these steps might help some typical cases but this one is a little bit different. A full reset would definitely work but I'm not gonna reset my phone if i can help it.
The problem starts with Android 11. Since 11, Sim card enable/disable status and all related card settings get stored and will be remembered. This is convenient when you swap cards frequently.
But for eSIM.me cards this seems to be problematic. The way they work makes it possible to unintentionally disable the card and not being able to enable it again. there is no conventional way to enable the card or any of the esims stored on it once this happens.
BUT i figured out a way to fix this. Unfortunately you need root access. If you don't already have this your only option is a full reset.
[GUIDE]
Prerequisites:
First of all. you need ROOT.
The data you need to edit is stored in a sqlite database so you need a sqlite editor. This one is adequate: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tomminosoftware.sqliteeditor
Step 1.
Launch SQLite Database Editor.
Navigate to the package com.android.providers.telephony. This is normally located under /data/data but if its read only and you have magisk root you can find it under /data_mirror/data_de/null/0.
once there go to databases and open telephony.db
Step 2.
Inside telephony.db you'll find a table named "siminfo". Open it.
Step 3.
Now you see a table with all current and previous sim cards that have been mounted to your phone.
From here you have a couple of options. You can identify the card you have issue with and set "uicc_applications_enabled" to 1.
Or you can simply remove all rows in the table and start fresh.
To identify a sim the icc_id is usually printed on the card itself or in case of eSIM.me you'll find it in their app under each esim profile.
Step 4.
Remove and reinsert your card to apply the changes. Or restart your phone.
All done. Everything should be back to normal.
I ran into the similar problem too earlier.
I didn't have root but used this workaround.
1. Remove esim.me card and insert it in a different phone. Now estim.me card will work.
2. Go to your sim provider website and generate a new eSIM activation code. This part requires OTP which you will be able receive.
3. Insert SIM in your main phone again. Open esim.me app and provision a new esim card. Don't delete the old one while you are testing to be on safe side.
It should provision the same number as a new esim. Problem solved.
Of course, don't ever accidentally disable SIM card ever again.
