Please explain are u unable to install drivers or u have installed them but ur device is undetected....
If u are unable to install than try it run as administrator with full control
If u have installed them still ur device undetected than this is due to conflicting
Drivers. Click on start, search for device manager open it and when u connect ur device u will see an exclamation mark in it if ur drivers are not installed
Properly ... Right click on it, go to properties, click on reinstall driver, click on browse my computer, click on let me pick, than u will see many names try the name that are like semc/adb interface blah blah.. One by one
One of them surely works
Don't know how to get device manager in windows 8 as I personally use windows 7(as most of the games don't work on 8 and I m a hard core
Gamer ) but I know u can figure it out....
I recommend windows 7 as it is compatiblewith every driver and software

I am using win 8 and the drivers worked for me

[Q] Flashtool doesn't recognize my Miro

I would like to root my gf's Miro, but when I connect it, Flashtool asks me to pick a device from a list, and Miro isn't among them. Will everything be okay if I pick Tipo instead? Or which device should I pick instead?
Now, this wouldn't be a problem if this was my phone, because I'd just pick another phone and hope for the best, but my gf would be beyond furious if I messed something up, god forbid bricked her phone. So would picking Tipo or another model be 100% safe?
By the way, I'd like to downgrade to the previous firmware, root it, then flash back the newer one.
Thank you!

Flashtool still doesn't recognize it as a Miro, but it tells me to pick my device from a list, which doesn't feature Miro, only the other Xperias.
My question: Can I safely pick another type of Xperia when Flashtool prompts? If yes, which one should I pick?

That's also the newest, 11.0.A.5.5
I'd like to flash the 11.0.A.2.10 fw, root it with Bin4ry's app, then flash back to 11.0.A.5.5, that way, root will remain, or at least afaik this is a working method. I could root my Sola the same way (downgrade, root, upgrade), so I'm guessing it would work here too.
The only thing I'd like to know if there is any dangmer associated with me telling Flashtool that the Miro is, I don't know, a Tipo or J. Will it mess up the flashing process? I of course have the correct Miro firmwares in ftf-s.

You should not use Bin4ry tool anymore, it doesn't work since the .4.22 firmware, like you have.
Instead, use UnlockRoot tool, it's safe, free and easy.
Although, watch out while installing it, it often likes to install useless toolbars and addons on your pc, but you can easily skip the installation of those if you just go through the installation progress gently.
Then as soon as it's installed, run the tool, connect your phone with USB debugging, and click the big green "Root" button.
Good luck!

give it a try

Then click next button (the layout will be>>previous, next, cancel) like the usual installer. I just used this against a hard to root Alcatel One Touch Glory 2S 4010x and able to get root.

There are usb drivers which need to be installed on our syste for every mobile device.
You enable usb debugging from settings and then install pc companion and then connect the phone once or twice and the pc companion will install the drivers for you.
Now you can use the unlockroot program.

Soft bricked Tipo

Hi there,
1. I am fed up of my Tipo's lagging touch (responding after half an hour, miscaliberation). I update the firmware using Sony companion and tried to install one of the Jelly Bean roms on the stock ICS using CMW. It some how soft bricked my phone. Can any one tell the reason?
2. With lot of effort I installed the stock ST21a 11.0.A.4.22 Sony Generic kernel (using Flashtool). It is same laggy and miscaliberating. Did I not reformat, similar to PC? shouldn't it be fresh and new ?
3. I am not trying to install JB rom. What is the correct way to install? Should I worry about any seperate parts like Kernel?
4. To install JB rom (Paranoid Android) I tried to root the device, but the flash tool says "no root exploit for this version". If i cant root. I cant install CMW. I cant install frest rom. Is there any other way to install ROM?
I am stuck in the above points after my research, and will appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance

Yeah, but those two have the same effect. Repairing with PC Companion is exactly the same as flashing a .ftf. And if that didn't work, PC Companion won't.

[TUT] Root Xperia M2 & M2 Aqua in KitKat 4.4.4 (Locked and Unlocked Bootloaders)

Hello there!
Many of you requested a video on how to root the Xperia M2 (and M2 Aqua), with a step by step procedure, so here it is!
LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9x7AY7o2gU
All the tools needed are in the video description, and I will try to answer all your questions both in the Youtube comments or here in this post.
Happy Easter and enjoy root!
(and sorry for my english )
Nice tutorial but Im having a little problem.
Today I was trying to root my M2 Aqua (D2403) with your old tutorial and now I tried with this again.
So, the problem is that when I flash JB kernel the phone turn on normally, not in bootloop then root xperia toolkit doesnt work.
Also tried with only ftf kernel of another thread and turned on in bootloop but flashtool and root xperia tool kit doesnt recognize the phone, maybe drivers?
I had problem installing the drivers on Windows 8.1 but worked in flashmode.
Thanks for tutorial and help.
Good tutorial! I think this will help people who have problems rooting their phone

First, you installed the drivers with driver signature check turned off right? (From advanced reboot in windows..)
I think you might try as I did in the video, I mean, when preparing the phone, connect yours (while still in KK, still haven't flashed the JB kernel) and then open flashtools and check if you have any warning of adb. If so, hit REMEMBER (very important STEP) and then hit OK. This is because while in JB there's no screen so you cannot accept that petition. That's the reason.
After done that, try with THIS kernel. I know some people used it and it worked. Flash it, boot your device, wait for about 5 minutes, connect your phone and open the RootXperiaToolkit. Let's see if it works now

First, you installed the drivers with driver signature check turned off right? (From advanced reboot in windows..)

Yes, I installed with signature check off. I used drivers from Flashtools 1.5
Also checked remember adb warning and I guess its weird, when I flashed using full rom the phone turn on and initiliaze normally as if I had not flashed the old kernel.
The kernel I told get bootloop is that you posted now.
I did exactly as on video but when phone is in bootloop the Root Xperia Toolkit doesnt recognize it and Flashtools(opened just to check) say the drivers arent installed.
I will try in another OS, thanks. :good:
