This is just a thread for devs to look up to when they are building custom ROMs for our beloved G3.
Apart from CMs there are many devs who are working on Froyo, which is the more stable ROM available for us. Hence this thread is a mere effort to thank them and also to post any suggestions or feature requests in this thread.
A sincere thanks to all devs who worked on G3 for their continued efforts to keep our mobile alive.
As and when a feature is requested in this thread, I will add it to the second post along with the requester's name.
So I would be pleased if this thread is used rather than spamming the development thread.

I inadvertently posted in this section. However I feel it would be good if it stays in this section as it will provide broad exposure.
However if the consensus is to move to general section, I will request MOD to move it.

**Latest Update**
In order to insure the most quality out of my rom, I will be holding off the release untill issues are resolved with stability with the lastest DI07 update. Thanks for your patience in the matter, I promise you won't be disappointed come release.
Check back later for a link to the ROM.
hmmmmm. place holder for my review.
Nice, let's see how this thing unfolds.
Does the "epic edition" mean you have made roms before? Got me curious with all the mystery...

how long is a little bit? im anxious to see what the great minds come up with for the epic
Why would you create a thread for the purpose of making a place holder? Why not create a thread when you release the rom?
*hopes for tv-out*

This placeholder thing is getting ridiculous. Can't wait for the rom to be released. Nice to see that devs are starting up for the epic. Im assuming ppl are using placeholders got their roms bc hella.ppl be complaining about the lack of
lack development for epic.

looking forward to this

Will Mobile AP be included?
Well, he did ask for suggestions in the OP so a placeholder for updates coupled with an ongoing thread for ROM inclusion requests doesn't sound like a terrible idea...
The Fryetech Rom for HTC Thunderbolt
After making a Windows and Mac program to automate the root process on the HTC Thunderbolt I have decided to put out my own rom.
I kind of did this for my self but I thought I would share. And I will be making it better over time.
I'm making this rom to be as smooth as possible.
This rom is kind of Nexus One inspired but is based off of the stock thunderbolt rom
Right now this is a beta. Just thought I would post it up anyways.
I will be working on it more tomorrow and so on.
By stock it has the imoseyon leanKernel normal v0.85
get setcpu from market to get your phone to 1.4Ghz Sable
Please report bugs here.
This has been updated.
Sorry I forgot to add the gallery + music app. So It has now been added.
Also cleaned up system for a lighter rom.
Video and Download here.

being an ex Nexus One owner, this rom brings me back. seems to be running smooth so far. will keep checking back for further updates and see how far you can get this
PS, this should be in the development section, just to let u know
on another note, you should take off the recent apps from the notification bar and replace it with them toggles a lot of roms have now. i think its a neat feature. just giving u some feed back
Running the 1.0RC very smooth so far, im liking it and looking foward to future updates.

Not really.. You're not allowed to post "Coming soon" threads in Development, buddy haha
This runs amazing. With great battery life

Would like to see what's different about this and any other ROM...? Looks pretty smooth and such.
If this is the wrong group I apologize. I posted it after not sleeping much for 3 days supporting people with the rooting scripts I put out there.
Keep it here lol great stuff though amazing battery life

Would it be to much to ask if I asked if this can be put into the development section? This rom is to bad ass not to be.

screenshots? i can't access youtube at my job, and i bet i'm not the only one
you'll get more hits if you post this in the dev section. wow, i never thought i'd see a proper dev thread misplaced in the general section. its always the other way around lol
edit: i saw the video. slick looking rom, makes me miss my nexus one

Think of cyanogenmod without the cyanogenmod features? Better yet, think of the nexus one.

Really nice looking ROM so far. Is there any plans to have Power Control Widgets added to your ROM in the future at least with the option to have them on/off. I know a number of ROMs on the Droid 1 had this feature.
Am I supposed to get to ten posts when I don't have any questions, and I'm not allowed to post in the Dev forums.
I created this account for the sole purpose of giving feedback and helping people in android dev forums, and I can't do that until I have ten posts. *meh*
Got the same problem dude

How about answering some questions in here. Dev sections aren't meant for questions.
If I see some good ones I will. But I prefer to give answers I know about. I have one phone, and some experience with the HP touchpad. And I've installed only one rom on each. Those are what I feel I could help with best. Ah well, maybe in their general forums I'll see something useful for me to do.
Same problem right here :

I did some brief searching on this topic and while I didn't find anything, I apologize if this has already been answered. I also know next to nothing about Android development so apologies (again) if this is a ridiculous question.
I'm definitely interested in flashing a stable JB ROM eventually but there are a few things about Touchwiz I'm pretty happy with and I wanted to see if any of those features could be retained. Specifically, I like the Video Player's pop out feature and I also would like to keep some of the motion shortcuts (double tap top of phone to return to scroll to top of list, pan to move icon, tilt to zoom, smart stay, and a few others). Is it at all possible to keep some of the aforementioned features if I went to a custom JB ROM or are all of those dependent on having Touchwiz running? Thanks very much.
Those features are very heavily built into the touchwiz framework, referencing different parts of it in order to work as intended. Such features would have to be programmed from the ground up to work on AOSP unfortunately.
And yes this does belong in Q&A.

Hi, have you tried contacting admins ?
I'm personally really upset about this. Tapatalk is such an easier way to view threads and keep track of subscribed threads. I haven't been as active in xda since they changed it.
