Social Networker - Android Apps and Games

I have read several threads complaining about the Facebook app and that people prefer the mobile site. But if you stay signed in on the app or the site, you might get hacked. So I made this browser to hide your social activity on your phone. Obviously because it's the mobile site there are no notifications or anything, but for those that aren't concerned with that, perhaps this will work for you. I know people who get hacked often. Figured this sounded like a good idea.

[Q] [Request] Forum App

I don't know where the right place to post this would be, but I am a member of a forum that has upwards of 3k+ people online at any given time. As far as i know of, there is not an App for it, just a mobile site that is VERY limited.
I was wondering if it's a pretty big deal to create an App like the XDA App for another forum? It would be amazing and make life a whole lot easier for lots of people.
I am sure there is more work than I would assume, but just throwing it out to ask.
The site is ar15.com. Check it out, click on General tab and scroll to the bottom to see how many people are on ATM.
Thanks
Xda app is just the basic crippled version of tapatalk. Get it and if your forum isn't already in their database just email them to add it.

[Q] delete xda from gingertheory

is there a way to do this or am I stupid. I have the xda premium app and gingertheory comes preinstalled with the xda app. in the manage apps menu there is no uninstall option for the app and i cant delete the icon from my app list and it is annoying having both icons in the list. nothing that I cant live with, but just annoying.
would have put this in the gingertheory thread, but I dont have enough posts yet to post a thread there.
Have u ever tried (system app remover) download and uninstall xda

You need to use an app manager with root capabilites, like titanium backup. It will allow you to uninstall system apps (so be careful!)
Also, other (read: better) launchers will allow you to hide apps from the drawer.
Just delete the apk from data/app wipe the cache and the dalvik.

Awesome. Thanks for the help. I feel like such a noob with this phone. Had my og Droid for almost 2 years (had 4 in the last 2 months before they offered early upgrade. Thank god for insurance. Only had to pay for replacing the first one after it landed face down in gravel) thought I knew a lot about Android with my simple and reliable one click root. Bricked it a couple times and that was even easy to fix. This phone requires more effort to accomplish the same stuff and I feel accomplished when I learn something new like adb which I never used till a couple of weeks ago. Then I run into something like this. I have had ti backup for over a year and didn't know it could freeze apps till a week or so ago and didn't know you could delete things with it. I need to start reading more documentation.
Again thanks. Love this community so far. People will actually help you rather saying search Google and linking you to the page, or just be rude in general.

Agreed, its a good feeling to learn things, and all though you will quite often get.. "search, Google, read" from many people... Sometimes it is just as easy to answer the Damn question, and what many don't realize is that a lot of the time a answer to a problem can be the best way to learn... If one were so inclined to do so.

Please click the link. And read. We all want xda to stay up and running. Thanks.
Ok I read it, but not following, how does taking down the site for the day prove anything when that's what the government wants? Damn if I would black my site out.
You didn't read the whole thing did you...it clearly says that they are taking down the website to raise awareness in order to get more people to voice their opinion on SOPA. I for one WILL be supporting you guys, and I am EXTREMELY happy with the amount of fighting that various big name websites are doing to help put an end to this before it even starts.
Thank you. As am i. The government is wayyyy over stepping there intended purpose wih this one. And most people do not realize the affect this would have on the entire internet/ free speech. Which is why large websites are trying to spread awareness. I mean this would probobly shutdown websies like xda you tube and many many others.
I really hope I don't have any problems with my phone on Wednesday then...

While I have no problem with their cause, the solution of "pledge or xda wont go back up" is kind of harsh

Well if it goes through and people are just to lazy to fight it craigslist. Youtube. Xda. And many of the sites we visit everyday are in jeopardy of being shutdown . Most people arent seeing how serious this is
http://m.cnn.com/primary/wk_article...ed:1&branding=&category=cnnd_tech&pagesize=10 , what does this mean compared to xda shutting down?

Facebook crap!

Why the heck facebook takes 100mb ram??
Because its coded very poorly. FB is like crack to most of its users, so they don't care it uses a ****-ton of resources, so FB has no reason to bother coding it efficiently. Like a ton of other apps too. As the phones get more powerful, the devs get sloppier since they don't have to optimize. Same with computers, or any electronic, so few users are going to notice it doesn't matter to lose the few who do over sloppy code when compared to the money and time it might take to write it efficiently.
It doesn't pay to pay attention to such things anymore, there are just way to many of the clueless around out-spending the discerning consumers at a break-neck pace (i.e. the success of the iPhone). Join the herd or be forever disappointed.

yeah u r right, good point! that background detection is pretty bothering though.
Worse still is that even their mobile website is so poorly done that it sucks ever so slightly less than the app. So the only way to use Facebook reliably is with a computer. And morons were surprised when the ipo tanked!
Now ask yourself, did I really just read that? Yes you did.

Is anyone using any third party Facebook as a replacement? Like faster book or whatever its called.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Thinking about just using the browser instead of the app, it's so frickin bloated.
Try friendcaster
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
Friendcaster is a really nice replacement, but it lacks permissions to show all the content, so often you get redirected to the browser. Facebook doesn't only create s crappy app, they also stop third party apps from making better ones :/

Dolphin Browser with the 'Desktop Browser' Addon and Full screen mode does a Facebook just fine. I find the mobile web version a bit more sufficient than the app. Justmy opinion...

A little convoluted, but if it gets the photos to load every time, worth it. That's really my major gripe with the app, after you look at a few photos, they stop loading. I have to back out, force close, and clear cache to get them back.

I am in the facebook developer programm ... I will take a look at it... I know that its really "crap" so some code modifications won't work better then another app... So there will be two options.. wait for a new one...or write a new one..

Tell us how you really feel. With all the money and non- monetization from mobile use, you'd think it would be his... Mark Z's biggest priority after he is done shopping for Camera app developer's.

I removed the updates and disabled the app, F IT!

Question about cheesecake...

Been using it daily and loving it!
But how is it legal? I've always appreciated XDA's no Warez standards, and just wondering about this.
I mean these are Motorola's private servers that we aren't supposed to have access to and we're basically... Ahem... hacking into them. Just with a phone app. Looking for stuff Motorola has not yet released yet for a reason.
Feel free to delete/moderate the heck out of this thread if i'm in over my head, opening a huge can of worms, or should just shut up.
I'm just curious as to others thoughts.
PS: seriously. delete this thread if necessary.
