I don't know where the right place to post this would be, but I am a member of a forum that has upwards of 3k+ people online at any given time. As far as i know of, there is not an App for it, just a mobile site that is VERY limited.
I was wondering if it's a pretty big deal to create an App like the XDA App for another forum? It would be amazing and make life a whole lot easier for lots of people.
I am sure there is more work than I would assume, but just throwing it out to ask.
The site is ar15.com. Check it out, click on General tab and scroll to the bottom to see how many people are on ATM.
Thanks
Xda app is just the basic crippled version of tapatalk. Get it and if your forum isn't already in their database just email them to add it.

No. You will find most of the stuff available for your phones mixed in here, just make sure you only use items that specifically say are for or ok to use with the showcase.
add144 is the test of will around here. If you can last through his pounding of you, then you will probably learn how to use this forum pretty well. We get the same questions over and over again, so sometimes it gets a little old when you can tell that someone hasn't looked for an answer to a really easy or common question.
Showcase users will find more info and help here than probably anywhere else, other than the irc channel also populated by us. CS has gotten douchey and made us take down the 2.2 build, but everything else is still here or linked from here.
Now, if you aren't too buttsore from add144, welcome to the forum.... get to the reading.

Entirely too much cleanup needed for such a small thread - infractions handed out for inappropriate messages and I am closing this thread.
Let's not do this again, ok folks?
Everyone over at our forum (green rom project) is having trouble making a forum app. We like how the tapatalk app works and want something similar. Does anyone know how to make one? Since we are still in the infancy stages as far as a forum goes (we're still getting things together) we can't really afford to have tapa talk make the app for us. Can someone help?
Why make a forum app. You should be able to enable Tapatalk for your forum then everyone just has to buy the Tapatalk app.

We want to make available a free app much like the xda forum app free version. Yea, I realize you can buy it from market. Thanks for the suggestion though!

2 days before release and there's STILL no thread?? Hell, even the Droid Charge has one. come on XDA!
bump bump bump
I'll bump this as we are still having the same issue with the T-Mobile G-Slate... Good luck. We have put in so many requests and they say they put you on a "Request List". Our device has been out since April 20th and announced well before that, yet we are in the same boat. I hope all works out well for the Infuse 4G getting a forum.
Bump, bump, bump it up we need some forums please

why do they need a request list? Probably faster to just add the forum then add the name to a list. Im sure theyll say they have to appoint a mod to it but I don't really care about that, do you?

This phone is a pretty sweet phone, the GPS works great and so does the email. other than that it reminds me of the captivate.

I agree, if it came down to it...you would think they would appoint a member with a good rep to moderate. It can't hurt anything, and if it does then find another mod. The request list is just another way of saying we don't want to give you a forum IMO. Lately there have been to many problems with them not adding forums which I'm sure will lure a lot of members away from the site. It's all good for them to add forums for non-existing devices though....
Im liking my infuse forums please....

It's got to be the timing. Just too many android devices catching the eye if devs. I would just wait a little. But I'm thinking nobody wants to invest energy in another variant. Sad but probably true (at&t know it sheep haven't a clue ... most people probably don't even know what LTE is)

You are right about the amount of devices coming out so quickly but in my opinion they should all be part of the community. Maybe XDA is trying to save bandwidth. I hope to see sections for some of these overlooked devices soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

Bumping for an Infuse thread. Just sold my Captivate for this device.
Bump it up again , Set one up guys or I'll be tempted to make a forum website myself... Too impatient to get things rolling.... Dual booting droid and windows etc etc
this amoled screen is effing HUGE
I just read on the XDA twitter today that there is an Infuse forum.....
And if you look, there is... right with all the other Samsung devices.
Am I supposed to get to ten posts when I don't have any questions, and I'm not allowed to post in the Dev forums.
I created this account for the sole purpose of giving feedback and helping people in android dev forums, and I can't do that until I have ten posts. *meh*
Got the same problem dude

How about answering some questions in here. Dev sections aren't meant for questions.
If I see some good ones I will. But I prefer to give answers I know about. I have one phone, and some experience with the HP touchpad. And I've installed only one rom on each. Those are what I feel I could help with best. Ah well, maybe in their general forums I'll see something useful for me to do.
Same problem right here :

I have been seeing a recent trend lately so I thought this may help.
How to Search XDA Forms
If you are a noob, or if you just have a general question and you are feeling a little too lazy to read through other forms then this is what you do before you start a new thread about your problem.
(99% of the time your problem has already been talked about)
XDA App Search Feature
For the XDA app go to the °more° tab and click on the little eye glass and simply type in your question or some key words of the problem you are having.
XDA-Developers Website
This may be a little more difficult but stick with me. There is a bar that says search, type in your question or key words of your question and see if you can find what you are looking for. Now for the advance users look around for a topic that you have a question about in the respected form area (I.E. development or Q&A) and search key word of your problem and search that form for your answer
Recommended method you can read the form in its entirety!
Hope this helps and it’s not meant to be rude it’s a noticeable problem.
Probably will be ignored by those who need this most but thank you for saying it.

Clearly someone who is new wont even consider a search button, but nice nice try.

Hey you never know!
Thats how most forums are, so either get used to it or dont come lol. I don't think I've ever seen a tech forum that wasn't inundated with the same question over and over.

That's not necessarily true. I came from the Evo 4g and the forums over there tended to be pretty clean with that stuff. The mods were all over the forums and older users helped the new users on how to search. I don't know what the Evo forums were like when the evo first launched but at least now there isn't much of the same BS that is running rampant over here.

Knowledge is power bro! These forms will be what we make them if we let people post non-since then we will always have that problem. I am also not dumb enough to think multiple questions will not ever happen.
i take the most issue with the app. it doesn't allow the searching of a forum or a thread... it searches ALL of xda for your terms... which is useless... you might make a few searches work, but over all what you need to a search of the forum you're viewing... i mean i could really care less about the rooting issues on a WP7 device when i'm trying to search for SGS3 info...
but over all the search on the website is stellar

While I agree worth your point, its frustrating not being able to use 'search this thread'in the app, you do know you can limit it to categories at least right? For example you could specify to search just the Verizon SG3 forums instead of all of xda.

I'm not seeing that on the free version. Once I do a search, all I can do is scroll down those search results. I can't click "More" as its occupied by the search.

Then they'll have to update their app. You can do that with the full tapatalk app.

perhaps i'll just start using the tapatalk app... i don't browse any other forums on my phone so it never made sense, but if it will improve search functions then i'll switch

If you do go to purchase it choose your color first. What I mean its if you want one of the ICS compatible colors those are separate apps. It's the same functionality you just have to buy the theme separate. But you don't need the original tapatalk to make the themes work. Make sense?
It's would be nice if the search feature was built into the application better. Is it possible to search a specific forum rather than the entire xda?
