A few months ago I rooted my phone and installed Rashed97's CM10 based rom.
This was fine for a day or two until I noticed rapid battery drain (losing %20 in a couple minutes). I was overclocking prior to this, but I did not exceed 729mhz with smartass-v2 governor (and surely any overclocking settings are lost when flashing a new rom?).
So once the battery fully drained, it went in to a boot loop.
I have tried different recoveries(All flashed fine), and different roms, but I always get a boot loop.
Some recoveries I have used:
CWM v6
CWM v5
TWRP
Stock
Some Roms I have tried flashing (all resulted in bootloops)
ICySNAP v1.6 FINAL
LG Optimus One Family CM10 - Build 6 and 7
NightlyFourE ICS 5.1 REMAKE
Stock v10 bb
Stock v20 bb
Some roms finished the boot and let me use the phone, however this only lasted a few seconds and did not happen again.
I am on the verge of throwing the phone out as I am so frustrated by this.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Try AmonRa recovery - very stable. Wipe ALL options listed ( wipe again just for confirmation ) EXCEPT your sd card. Flash a rom and check.

Tried that and got the same results.
Just tried flashing a stock rom via lgmdp, gets all the way to playing the android boot sound before restarting.
Is it possible that I have permanently bricked my phone?....

Going in to recovery does not stop the bootloop.
I don't know if this will work or not, but a Factory Reset is done by holding "Power+Vol Up+Vol Down" for 10 seconds. Power off the device first.

Holding "Power+Vol Up+Vol Down" for 10 seconds just makes it go into the stock recovery.

The only thing I can recommend is to try installing a recovery in a way that you haven't tried yet, maybe? If you can boot in to fastboot mode, check my signature for a link for Android Flash Recovery. It may be able to restore your recovery.
In recovery choose 'wipe data/factory reset' option and reboot

I have been through Multiple stock Roms of 2.1, 2.2, 2.3
Lets take a simple example of 2.1 where I flash into CWM, install CM7 but I am stuck in install loop, all it does is tries to install, shows me flashing screen which is way too quick for me to read and but I have managed to read some lines and they probably say
E: Cannot find or Cannot update
No Such file or Directory
Like I said, since last 3 days - whatever I do I am stuck in that. I have tried formatting internal SD Card, tried to install from External SD Card but no go
Boot into cwm, factory reset, install from sd card. If you boot loop, repeat procedure again.

Sometimes you have to hold the recovery buttons down for a long while, at least 4 or 5 flashes of the i896 page. This worked for me a few times (Rogers i896). But the only thing I found that worked when I got stuck in boot loops was flashing stock Froyo with Heimdall. Can you boot into download mode?

Pull the battery, reinsert battery, then with phone off, press volume up + volume down + power. Hold those buttons until you see the first boot screen. Hold it about 5 seconds, then release.
OK, so I went to recovery mode - deleted factory/clean - and tried with MIUI - that worked?? can I install CM 7 on top of MIUI?

That's good to hear. MIUI is a very good ROM and is based on CM7 so there should be no problem flashing CM7.1 from MIUI (I do it all the time). Go into ROM manager and flash CWM to 3.x before flashing CM though.
Sweet, that worked too. I now have CM7 - would it better to CWM and factory reset now? so everything is clean or not recommended and/or doesnt matter?
I have used MIUI - few drawbacks, some apps dont work + screenshot is not as simple as CM7

Did you do the wipes in CWM before you installed the zip? If so I wouldn't worry about it if not a reset doesn't hurt.
Copy Rom to sdcard.
Go to download mode (Vol- + Vol+ + USB plug PC)
Use odin and flash to stock JF6
Feed talon 1.2 --> CWM --> factory reset --> install zip file -> choose zip file --> new rom
Stuck on the triangle screen with Android doing road work and the words "Downloading below it" if I hold the power down and boot the device.
This happened when I tried to flash the ICS ROM and then another Gingerbread ROM after that which doesn't want to boot. Would really help if someone can help me recover.
Thanks

Lol hopefully u wiped full when flashing rom's... alright so turn off ur phone.. hold power button the volume up at the same time... using the volume down button scroll to recovery... Ull see the triangle again with an exclamation mark in center... hit volume up and power again (night take a couple of tries) once in recovery just go to restore and back up... restore.... and pick the recent one u backed up

If you don't have a backup, use ADB to flash clockworkmod again, boot into CWM, do the full wipe procedure and reflash the ROM.
Greetz
Volume Up + Power doesn't do anything and tries to boot into the flashed ROM which doesn't get past the glowing Android logo. Only thing that works is volume down + power which shows Android doing the digging...
And yep- I did wipe everything including davlik and battery before installing the new ROM

Ah my bad, I figured you already knew the procedure since you're in the stage of flashing ROMs.
Follow this guide, you can skip to part 3 if you've already unlocked your device and have the Android SDK installed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007782
Make sure to wipe data + cache + dalvik. Battery stats are irrelevant to this process so you could leave them untouched

My G2x is bricked. I have tried following this guide, but it did nothing, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1
I have tried using NVFlash to flash to stock, Flash CWM on it, but nothing seems to happen. This is the result of flashing stock recovery
http://gyazo.com/111d4f87503e91a3cd92b8a803d5bb46
After doing so, I try to boot into recovery but nothing happens. The screen lights up and shows the pure white LG sign with no colors on the side. No matter how long I hold vol DOWN and power, it doesn't want to boot into recovery. I am unsure of what to do now. Could someone help me?

You cannot boot into stock recovery on a G2X. For stock you use volume up and power and it just does a factory reset and reboots your device.
You need to flash CWM Recovery. Then you enter recovery by holding Volume Down and Power and use CWM to reformat your system and flash a rom.
If CWM doesn't work then you need to use the KDZ method to reflash your device to stock.
Don't worry it is almost impossible to fully brick a G2X. As long as you can use NVFlash the device should be recoverable.
My phone isn't stock. I had CWM on it, and I flashed PhoenixBlood ROM. When I tried to upgrade the ROM by flashing the new one, my phone ended up like this. I was able to boot into CWM by holding Vol DOWN and power, but not anymore. Right now, I can't even get into recovery.

It doesn't matter what your phone is. Use this method to unbrick your G2x:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644
There are a couple more methods found on XDA too. Please search before posting.

Did you install CWM using ROM Manager?
Hey everyone!
So I run a stock 4.1.2 nexus s, locked bootloader, not rooted. Out of nowhere earlier my phone started to reboot itself. It would load into the OS, but then it would reboot, and it keeps repeating itself..
Any ideas?

You can hard reset but this will erase your stuff. This works if you're not rooted/don't have a custom recovery.
From being powered down, you hold VOL + then power. This will bring you to the fastboot menu. With the volume keys, you select recovery.
Once in recovery with the exclamation mark andy, you hold VOL + and then power and you wait until it reboots. Might be VOL - at this step though, I cannot recall.
Thanks, I have got to that point, but I am hesitant to do it. There is no way to access the sdcard while the phone is in recovery mode??

There is no way unless you have a custom recovery that supports that feature. Stock recovery doesn't have that feature.
I was flashing a new ROM and I got stuck at the google logo upon bootup. I tried holding power button to power it off. It does, then turns right back on.

press both power + volume down until it boots on bootloader. then choose recovery, press power and do necessary steps to flash a new rom
You need to restore your cwm or twrp backup in this case...
You phone's not restarting properly coz the custom myt have been missing a file or you might have forgotten to clear the data, caches and delvik cache before installing the custom rom zip file...
As of now...i recommend you restore your backup first

In TWRP, I wiped everything but internal storage. I thought it was a norm coming from a S4 but I don't think I should have done that now. I have the factory image downloaded. Just trying to get into fastboot mode.
I got into fastboot mode. the mistake I was making was that I was stop holding the buttons once the phone powered off.
Yeah...this boot stuck thing happend to me too...during custom rom installation...

If you long press the power button to force a reboot as soon as the screen goes off hold down the volume down button and it will put you into the bootloader screen, Getting to recovery from there is a piece of cake. Holding the volume down button at the beginning of a reboot (when screen is off) to get to the bootloader and/or recovery screen has worked on every device I've tried it on. Just one more way.
