So I just installed CM10 nightly ( jelly bean if I'm correct ) and I think something's wrong. When I try to boot it first thing that looks wierd is random colors (shouldnt be like that). After that it boots up after loading and I can use it. After using it for 2-3minutes it just turns itself off and I have to take my battery and put it back in to get it working again for 3minutes. How do I fix this, I am sure I did nothing wrong.
Edit: I installed it over CM7 nightly, I think it might be because I didn't wipe caches, but now I dont have rom manager.

You have to read a little before you flash your phone... you need your baseband for right communication eith phone. If you want to flash baseband you need flashtool. The files you need are fls files. I consider you to go back to cm7 for now and to read few tutorials, so you have enough expierience to flash cm10. Cm10 had a lot of bugs because its the nighly version. And for most people they need to flash bernis files and wkparks bootloader to get cm10 working.

Froyo, yikes. Update to gingerbread with kdz method asap. Froyo is slow and battery drain was diabolical.
Ignore the "no updates" rubbish, that's just your carrier who can't be bothered to give you any.

You are mucking up the forums with questions that have been answered over and over. Please use the search button. I think it's one of the rules (or at least it should be). Everything you need to know is in the dev section. Reading will make you more knowledgeable about your phone, its capabilities and this entire forum.
Good luck rooting your phone and trying new roms.

Good that you have rooted successfully.
21E baseband is the one that doesn't have the :GHOST CALLS" issue.
ROMs are sensitive to the baseband versions, so please be careful about te ROM you are trying out else you will face no network / boot loop / stuck on LG screen.
If you can flash Baseband 21E, then Promethius ROM 1.4 with Promethius Kernel v 1.4.5.1 ( please check for kernel versions with + and without + in the end) will give out the best battery life (as per my experience)
(He seems to be the only one active ROM developer left)
All the best
schubeir
Ive tryed that rom a couple of time twice had no network signal and once stuck on lg screen bloody pain. I thought it was coz i was still running froyo but since on gb still wont work and for sum reason it wont flash the kernals all a bit of a blag for me so just on rooted stock rom now lol
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium
You must be on GB and baseband 21e to use latest prometheus roms, and kernels.I think you can use Prometheus 1.3 rom with 1.3 kernel, and you will have signal.

A lot of people that upgraded to xbsall's ported ics are unable to go back to gingerbread.
We flash ics its fine we flash v21e bin from the guide its bricked.
We did a lot of methods but we were unable to downgrade.
Xbsall thinks we need a special bin rom but i have been unable to locate the source of the problem as my knowledge of android or linux is little compared to that of windows.
So we need help devs...
Any advice or theory would be appreciated...

After flashing does your device power up?
It doesn't power up.
Does nothing actually.
When i flash ics from xbsall it boots
Not with gingerbread.
It's something to do with the boot part of the rom but i can't put my finger on it.

This is repack of CM10 to work with new Wkparks bootloader it is for use with new partitions (ICS) and Wkpark bootloaders for everyone who doesnt want to downgrade to GB or has truble with it.
How to use:
1) You are on ICS
2) flash recovery
3) flash Wkparks bootloaders
Download zip and put it on sdcard, download gapps and put it on sdcard
Go to recovery wipe data, cache and system
Flash ROM and gapps.
Reboot
Bugs: CM10 bugs
And one most inportant: DO NOT ever from CM10 menu reboot to recovery.
You will be stuck in recovery bootloop.
Only way to fix that is to flash Xbsall bin.
Reboot to recovery by holding buttons.

By the way great work, loving it. Only had one little glitch when booting, funny looking twrp screen flashed up then it booted into CM10
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
Yes, if you use this one wait for my update. That funny looking screen at booting is known for CM10, it is the last screen that you see when you reboot. Remember not to press reboot to recovery you will brick it. Reboot normaly then use key combo to go to recovery.
And dont thank me, thank to acree hi did all the work. I only make it to work on new bootloader.

Hello.
I just installed CM10 to my phone and i'm not getting any signal at all. I found out it was due to the baseband, and i want to flash a cm10 compatible baseband.
I found a tutorial on how to do it but i have a question:
If i flash the working baseband to my phone, will my rom or anything will be deleted? Or i'm going to be able to boot my phone normally and hopefully get signal?
Thanks!
U do not need to switch bb . u just need to update to bernis and wkparks boot loader.

I suggest you do not downgrade to Froyo. It is extremely outdated, many of your favourite apps won't work. I suggest you flash ICS. You can look for my ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409107
But if you still want to downgrade, first flash V10 baseband from LGMDP. Then download v10e zip and flash it through recovery
