I just want to make this public knowledge as a few of us here participate in small group buys. Or make offers to buy or trade accessories off people's hands that have posted reviews, but are less than satisfied with an accessory. Do not deal with ethan.r.besbris.
A few weeks back, there was a thread about swapping unused Nexus 4 cases (which seems to have disappeared now). I participated in it, and agreed with this ethan.r.besbris fellow to swap an XDA Developer's Cruzerlite case for his black Poetic Borderline bumper case. I sent my case out on 1/28 with a USPS tracking # 9400109699938380086314. It has already long since arrived, but repeated attempts by PM since the 29th to get a tracking # or confirmation of shipping from ethan.r.besbris have gone ignored, despite the PMs having been read. The last thing he said was that he'd ship his case out on the 29th, but I have yet to receive anything to date. I can only assume he deliberately ripped me off at this point.
If any moderators read this, please consider banning ethan.r.besbris. The guy still has the gall to log in daily and go around making posts while ignoring my PMs. XDA doesn't need his sort trolling on here. Thank you for reading.
Unfortunately we all have to deal with douchebags in our lives, luckily the items are not terribly expensive. Just console yourself in the fact that you've called him out, make more posts in other forums so others don't make the same mistake. He knows he's a douche, so you will just need to remember that.

Agreed. I remember seeing that thread and glad it got removed. Unfortunately, this coupled with my bad luck past experience is the reason why I never do business with anyone on forums (or non regulated websites) anymore. Trading is even more riskier. There are websites like heatware to hold people's reputation accountable with a feedback system in place at least.
This is why the xda marketplace was closed because of people who deliberately don't follow the rules and play nice and its quite despicable if you ask me.
Stuff like this is just horrible. I'm glad got to call him out though. I hope a mod sees this and he gets banned.

That's probably what disappoints me the most about the transaction. His profile pic displays a live pic of him holding his kid. You would think somebody proud enough to do that would be a little more trustworthy.

Oh wow! I wasn't aware that the marketplace was closed. I've sold/purchased a few phones through the marketplace in the past, without issue. However, I do remember there being a common trend of members scamming fellow members. Looks like the few bad apples ruined it for the rest of us.

Okay, so I wanted to post about my skyrocket thats on craigslist, couldn't find a thread already on it, so I figured this is a good place to post it, anywho..
A few weeks back, I needed money asap, I thought "hey, ill sale my skyrocket and buy another when I got paid" so I posted the ad, a little background on my phone, I've only had it a few weeks, white, perfect condition.

Around here CL is pretty good.
I found, yes found an iPhone 4 at a job (I work on construction sites sometimes) and looked on Craigslist for "Samsung iPhone 4" and that's how I got my skyrocket. Could have paid a guy a hundred plus the iPhone and got a galaxy note. Here people always want to give up a high end android for an iPhone. Stupid ass people.
I just wish I had a few more iPhones to trade off.

I've sold a couple of phones there for exactly what I wanted, and within a day of posting them for sale each time. Had to ship to a forwarding address in each case (one buyer from India, another from UAE if I remember correctly). I was okay with it because both had good histories and feedback as buyers.
Occasionally a scammer will pop up on XDA's marketplace, but those people get called out quickly. I won't even bother trying to sell a phone anywhere else now.
And if the buyer wants to jack up the price and re-sell it in their own countries/regions, then more power to them. I got my price. :good:

Excellent condition usually translates to "I used and abused it, dropped it, kicked dirt on it and spit on it." Oh and if selling something, everybody flakes. I remember driving over 50 miles to sell my blackberry and the bum never showed.

Actually, I use craigslist about every three or four months when phones start making me jealous lol. I sell my old one and buy my new one, both on Craigslist. I live near Dallas, and I have travelled for work, and it seems that as long as your near a very large metroplex craiglist is active and useful, but in smaller areas it gets weird. Much like the people do haha.
I actually have sold my last three cars on craigslist and bought two of my last four cars on craigslist, one of which being a G35. I had zero issues. I sold my Xbox, then bought another six months later. I've driven to bad neighborhoods, strange parking lots, met people aged from 11 to 60, bought a new phone every time i crack mine and sold mine easily every time I wanted a new one.
What I mean to say is here in DFW, Craigslist is just fine for me lol. Or else I would be stuck with the same phone for two years. Although I am interested in the XDA thing though.

The moderator closed the thread on the basis that it wasn't the "XDA way," specifically citing XDA rules that by all means, in one's interpretation, would warrant the Unclefest thread being closed. There are alternative viewpoints on the matter, of which I subscribe, but I clearly communicated to the mod that I respected his decision because he's the mod. Throughout the whole interaction, the mod was a true professional about it. Without the mods, there would be no XDA and it'd be yet another crap-filled gutter of a forum within the cyberworld. Nevertheless, the Uncleest situation upset me, and I can only assume it upset SeanZ too.
Today, the mod shut down SeanZ's "best beard" thread in the General forum. I have no clue if there was any discussion between the mod and SeanZ about this. I suspect SeanZ is pulling his threads in protest, with the viewpoint that he generates a lot of traffic for the website and feels like the mod's aren't giving him a fair shake. An alternative viewpoint of this is simply that the XDA Skyrocket General thread is described as "Discussion about the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket (general chat, tips & tricks, etc)," not beards. Ultimately it is indeed the mod's call.
I ask you all to just relax, take some time away from XDA, and not get too emotional. If you want to express anything about this situation, it should probably be in the General section or via PM to fellow users or the mod. Definitely NOT in the Dev section.
Do not forget this: SeanZ has always taken care of us. He'll either be back when he's ready, or he'll let us know where to find him in the cyberworld.

Damn!! I almost got my post on first page. So I could do some advertisement and pay membership fee for trolling.
So just now my One S case broke. I tried to superglue it back together, but then I had an itch "down there" with superglue on my hands. Now my hand is attached to my balls with no way of getting them off without telling my mom. FML..

P.O.S. XDA app keeps giving me invalid thread ID.
Invasion2, put some nail polish remover on there. When you get your hand off, put some lotion on there to keep it from drying out too badly.

Got myself a $10 Flip Case for Nexus 4, worth for money
I got two, one black and another white, the white one comes with a magnetic lock to keep hold of opening flip.
I found them much better as compared to bumpers, its light weight and gives much protection.
Although I wished for something like Samsung Note case, where one can replace the back panel and the panel has flip with it. None the less as of now this is doing good job for me

Few questions about this.
1. How ridgid is the cover, like is it capable of supporting the phone to stand up 1.1) vertically 1.2) horizontally. That is if the actual case doesn't just slide on a smooth-ish surface. Like the samsung official case for s3/note2 are capable of such things quite easily.
2. (Might be too early to tell) How is the case after some wear and tear as I have a nilkin case (fresh series) and the quality isn't great, typical for chinese brands to be honest. The boundary starts to flake and come away and that's after 3ish weeks.
3. How does the overall feel of it feel like. Care to direct us to some reviews or even create one yourself on youtube?
Correct me if I'm wrong... But don't magnets on a case **** up the GPS and/or radio of a cell phone?

Yeah, emergencies can't arrive out of nowhere or anything. Nobody knows what the OP is even doing, or if he intentionally left you guys hanging or not. Maybe his computer blew up? House fire? Work? I know if any of those happened, checking a thread I made about a cheap case wouldn't even cross my mind...
Give the person some time, or.. go track it down yourself. You have a picture of the case, and a price. Get to searching

Err...perhaps it's you that should be doing the searching. In case you missed it, I already pointed out that he has been active on the XDA forum as recent as today (posting and not just observing for that matter) so I think we safely rule out a blown up computer or a house fire. The OP's absence definitely feels intentional.
Look, I'm not saying that he's obligated to respond to our queries but it's only common courtesy to help out. If you don't appreciate that, then perhaps you don't understand the meaning of community.
And FYI, some kind and helpful users here have pointed to possible cases but note the bold word here, possible. We will never if this is the exact same model as the OP's which makes a difference in someone's purchasing decision (certainly mine).
Seeing as Dbrand has their own thread I decided to show SW some love. I've been using their skins since 2013 when I got my Nexus 5. Ice tried other competitors but they're my to go for skins. Alright guys they're going to be going up for sale soon. Right now they mentioned only about 50% of their skins are up. Post your pictures in this thread!

I want to try the Galactic skin for the 6P but will probably give a few others a go too at some point. Personally I like both dbrand and slickwraps but I think at the minute slickwraps have the edge as far as variety and choice for sure.

Yes they have said everything will be available right away, that they have tested the skins and are releasing them this week (I think for immediate shipment so not a pre-order, they said they don't do those).

I'm thinking of getting a skin but wanted to know if it comes off easily when I want to change skin or remove it. And if it stays put over time so that just handling phone normally doesn't remove skin.

I lil how dbrand hives you a choice on what you order instead of being forced to get more than you want/need. I've owned many SW and brand skins and personally after taking another look at the two my dbrand are cut better around the Nexus logo every time for ym old N6 skins.

Thanks for your sarcasm. I've owned both and I was voicing my opinion if you don't like it then that's not my issue. I wrote an OP that detailed both companies skins so before you complain why don't you read it and understand why I commented in the first place.
Edit: just to be clear I don't see an issue with expressing an opinion which is what XDA is for. I like both companies skins and own many of them...

They do have people looking for unlicensed use of their properties around the clock but its a big world and it can take them a while to catch up to things like this, when they do they will act. As an example they eventually caught up to the local grocery store for putting those likenesses on birthday cakes. Not a chain store, just a local grocery store.
Well, the question is if and what licensed content are they using? They dont use term "Star Wars" anywhere, they call it Galactic series, and the image of Stormtrooper (which I am not sure if is licensed) is changed/modified to some degree. So what are they doing illegaly?
