I had a similar problem With a Samsung Tab 2.
A message kept coming up, "not enough storage space..."
I had 3.4 GB of videos stored and was unable to open my "Gallery". Also, I was unable use my camera and was unable to delete the unwanted videos that were gunking up my tablet.
Samsung support directed me to do the following.
- Press to open the "Apps" icon on the home page
- Press to open "My Files"
- Press to open "sdcard0"
- Press to open "DCIM"
- Press to open "Camera"
At this point all our photos and videos will be listed.
- Check the box beside the videos you want to delete.
- Press the " trash can" icon at the top of the screen
- And - Poof- those videos are gone
If you delete enough videos and open up enough space your camera and "Gallery" should be operational again

Hi,
I flashed my HTC Touch Diamond yesterday with this ROM. Suffice to say Im pretty pleased with it, however my Diamond doesnt have a lot of storage space left (on the device, i.e. not the 4GB internal storage or RAM) and as a result I keep getting nasty messages telling me to free up some space etc...
I appreciate that its a beefy ROM with Sense 2.5 but I dont understand what is happening. When i flashed the phone I had about 8MB free. I put a 6MB ringtone into the ringtones folder before noticing how little space that left me with (2MB) and then deleted it. Now a couple of days later I notice that I have less than 1MB of space, yet I havent installed any apps to the device storage so what has been filling the space up? This morning I attempted to install Facebook and Google Maps to the storage card via Marketplace as these were already on the device storage but it doesnt seem to have freed up any space.
Does anyone know how I can free up some space please? None of the apps cooked into the ROM appear in the "Remove Programs" app.
Cheers.
Hi,
Things like e-mail import, text messages, temporary files just take a lot of space of the memory.
AthenaROM is not very good, I suggest you flash for example Gen Y D2X.
Hard-resetting is the only way to clean it up, most of the files are system files that will return after deletion.
Hi thanks for your reply.
I'll check out that other ROM; for the moment I've simply copied some non-Marketplace apps to the storage card and placed shortcuts into the /Windows/Start Menu folder on the device memory. Only thing is the icons dont show, anyone have any ideas please?
Thanks.
Hi, I'm using AOKP JB Build 4, and have been having some storage problems. Here is a screenshot of what is happening. As you can see, it says I only have 491 MB of storage left, but I've only used 5 GB for apps, 740 KB on pictures, and 500KB on music. What's going on? Why isn't it showing that I have more space than that? I also cannot download any apps because it says I have insufficient storage. Thanks!
I've had the same issue of the storage not reporting properly. I haven't been able to find a fix or cause yet.

I had this problem today aswell and i solved it but idk if its the same for you.
For me, i have Rom Toolbox Pro and i had the setting Apps2SD turned On and it made me have the storage problem. When i downloaded a app from the market it told me that i had the insufficient storage. Turning the Apps2SD off cleared my problem.
Here is the thread that helped me out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745247
Hope this helped
I have recieved this P3113 GT2 8gb as a christmas present. I have rooted it and flashed a custom recovery but remained on official 4.0.4 firmware. When I was trying to install a few apps, a notification popped that I had low memory. My 4.59gb available space turned into 12mb in just 4 days and I haven't installed anything major except for a book reader and books totaling around 600mb.
Is there any fix to get those 4gigs back to usable memory?

Settings/storage, check your miscellaneous files and download files.... in fact anything that seems to have a high number next to it.
I got an 8gb version a month ago from Amazon, and i find i have to manage storage carefully. This is just one of a few things i do.
All my music is on Google play so i keep a cache and stream most of it. I have invested in a16gb memory SD, which helps as all my photos and videos go straight to my external SD.
I keep my books to a minimum only keeping the ones I'm reading on the device, and taking advantage of kindle and Google books cloud storage ( let's be honest, it takes only seconds to download books).
I also keep my apps reserved to the ones i use the most. They can always be downloaded again when you need them.
My office programs i have linked to dropbox, which upload when closed ( use that too for photos and videos.
I delete podcasts once listened to, and usually only stream these.
These few house keeping tips keep my device running smoothly and i have plenty of memory left.
Hope this helps
Have you tried moving anything over to internal? How big of external SD card do you have? If you have a large SD card, you can swap internal, and external. There is a post here in general that let's you do this. Wish I could be more helpful, maybe post a screenshot to show ur storage.

What you need is this app : folder size chart from the Play store.
Sort the directories by size and check whats eating your mb.
The folder youre looking is sdcard.
Regards.

Hello, and I have a question about my nexus storage space, I had search to look for my internal storage, it show I have about total of 5.4GB of space is use(include app, picture, video, download and other) but from my calculate and observations I found out there is 2.4GB is unknown, I only find out there is 3GB is used and know who is who belong to who...except for the downloading (which take about 554MB ) I cannot find where is the 554MB come from.
Over all my problem is, there is about 3GB of something that is occupying me space (include the unknown download) and anyone know how to find out those 3GB come from, or give a tool or suggestion to help me out to clean the 3GB space.
Also I have use the ES file explore to see how big is the system file and folder, but the result show to me is, "the whole system include sdcard (the location is →' \ ' )is near about 18GB and I only have a 16GB nexus 5
By the way I have completely check everything in the "sdcard" folder
So does anyone know how to solve this problem or give a suggestions? thanks ~~

So today I awoke to the low storage warning and decided to check it out, the memory and storage section of settings claims I only had 440 MB left out of 32 GB, but upon examination of everything that occupies space, it adds up to a little over 17 gigs, not 31.5. Any idea what may be causing this and how to fix it?
(I wanted to add a screenshot but apparently you can't from mobile)
Are you using twin application? whatsapp or facebook?
Check the space used on: Phone manager-->Cleanup-->Store manager-->Application restore

Nope, never used app twin. And storage manager apparently can't finish computing the space used by each category even after 5 minutes.
There may be some files hidden somewhere. Also your phone doesn't give you the full 32 GB because it uses some for Android and stuff.
