Fellow XDAers
I've browsed through the forum and tried several solutions, without success.
I had managed to root my phone, install TWRP and use it with a custom rom for a month or so.
I was just trying to flash a stock rom so that I could return the device to the store (the camera was broken and they offerred a replacement).
However, every time I attempt at flashing the rom, whether it's on the SD card or in the internal memory, it FAILS!
I've done it a dozen of times. What could I do?
Anything that I'd need to reinstall?
Thanl you!
Have you redownloaded the ROM? Checked the MD5? Sounds like a bad flash.
Also, I typically use Odin to go back to stock.

Thanks for your answer. Can you please explain the steps? I managed to do everything following instructions, but I'm far from experienced.
Isn't Odin only to re-instal the firmware?

I downloaded the stock rom from HERE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398
Downloaded also the stock recovery.
I tried flashing the rom ATT GB 2.3.5: I727UCKJ2_I727ATTKJ2_ATT
and it FAILED
I tried flashing the recovery and it worked.
I can't move forward. Please help.
Re-flash the md5 file ( you are using the md5 on odin, right). If that doesn't work download it again, it might be a bad download. You can also get the zip file from sammobile.com.
Edit, you have to extract the md5 from the zip, just to be clear. Don't flash it in recovery.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you're asking this type of question, you shouldn't be flashing anything yet. Read up on the stickies; it'll take you a couple of hours tops, and answer all of your questions and then some. Maybe even keep you from bricking yourself.

I have an MD5 for the recovery file: att-uclf6-stock-recovery.tar.md5
You mean re-flash this on ODIN and then go on TWRP and try flashing the ZIP for the ROM, right?
This is what happends after I go back to the stock recovery and try to install the stock ROM (from the SD card)
-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package ...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package ...
E: signature verification failed
Instalation aborted
Would this mean the ROM file is broken?
Thank you

No! Flash the md5 in Odin. That being you back to stock. Then you'll have to flash your recovery. Don't use the zip from sammobile for anything except extracting the md5

Flash the stock rom with Odin. In the PDA window. Only have auto-reboot and f.reset checked. The file has to be a .tar.md5.

The rom shown above I assume is a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file out of it. Use that file in odin. In the PDA window and only have auto-reboot and f.reset checked.

Download the stock firmware and check the md5 hash of it to make sure you have a complete and correct download.
Extract the files from the download
Then follow the guide and use Odin to flash the stock firmware.

stock firmware with the md5 file extension is all u need, no seperate stock recovery is needed as its part of the stock firmware
the stock file from sammobile > Extract(with 7-ZIP) the contents of the stock firmware file to a folder, DO NOT CHANGE the name of the extracted MD5 file or else it wont install
just read the sticky again, slowly
I think it's another brick in the wall due to the lack of reading of the good information that's available on xda.

Don't know buddy... If the file is one file as provided by odin than as per my understanding it should be flashed as pda...
Since it is an upgrade to xxkc1, you should be able to upgrade to gb from froyo. I would recommend downloading a froyo binary, hard reset the phone and then flash this file as pda. In case you get bootloop, go to recovery and remove cache and data and see if you can get to gb desktop...
If this didn't work, you should be able to downgrade to froyo....
I have seen drawbacks of gb bootloader... Lost 2 motherboards
Please take extra caution...i wrong be responsible for bricking or anything else

Hello All:
First of all thank this great work and I e know many waiting to be ported to a custom rom.
What I've done:
1) install the firmware THROUGH Odin. XXKPE
2) Install the firmware PDA XXKPH as Odin.
3) install GT-PDA-XXKPE I9003_PDA-fixed with Odin.
3) open and press SuperOneClickv1.9.1 GingerBreak and Root.
4) install CF-ROOT - I9003 - Beta as a PDA with Odin.
and voila, I have installed Legen _x_tripin and so far so good.
this is what I have done
I hope he does well
there's no such thing that Turkish people are not familiar with English.
as to your question, my friend, you need to flash XXKPE first. to do that, just make a quick search on this section. i'm sure you're gonna find what you need.
anyway, if you need help just send me a message.

First off: Flashing this firmware seems to be a bit problematic. I would suggest looking at the feedback thread beforehand.
A prerequisite to flashing this from FROYO would be to flash using the .pit file, the Boot file (APBOOT), the Modem file (PHONE), the multi-CSC file (CSC) from the XXKPE release from this link.
Use the file from this feedback thread (mentioned above too), as the PDA file.
First you must use just the .pit file in ODIN and check that re-partition is selected.
Hit reset.
Then add the aforementioned files to their respective sections in ODIN and flash.
Into my knowledge if you are on froyo then first flash with kpe with all available files under rar file(please follow flash guide thread ) then for kph (single Flash), select single file as PDA in odin then flash.
If you stuck on boot loop then factory reset your phone under recovery mode ok
I hope this will help you.

Hi Folks,
Noob here... I've been lurching about the forum for about a year now, and finally decided to man up and sign up.
I apologize in advance if this has been addressed in previous posts, but my numerous searches have not been successful.
I am encountering some issues with my CWM recovery and I need to revert to the stock recovery. Can anyone point me to a resource where I can download the GT-P6210 - ODIN stock recovery so I can remove CWM?
I am currently running the permanent (ODIN) CWM recovery.tar.md5 from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777003
Thanks a lot!

I see how it works now. For some reason, I thought the stock recovery was a stand alone aspect, independent of the OS/firmware. It appears that simply flashing the stock firmware also got rid of the CWM and reverted me to stock recovery. Thank you for setting me straight!

If you still have CWM recovery, then your attempt to ODIN the stock ROM did not work.
What version CWM do you have?
Find the stock ROMs here, but make sure your model is p3100 not P3113 or similar.

If you already have strong signal and no issue with data drop, then you don't need to upgrade, otherwise yes you could upgrade and possible it may cure your poor signal...hopefully. In my case, this new radio did nothing to my phone signal.

Downloaded the stock firmware to odin back and start over, but when i try, it checks the MD5 just fine. starts the "setupconnection" then i get a fail "can't open the serial(COM) port.
Am i doing something wrong here? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
