Skinomi Warranty Policy Updated! - Nexus 4 Accessories

I ordered a Skinomi screen protector off Amazon and got a free one with a golden ticket in my box!
The first installation went well, but I put the TPU case on too early and the sides began to get stretched/peel.
The free installation went perfectly, but I soon got scratches that would not go away.
I called Skinomi today to ask about getting a replacement, and a customer service rep. said they are updating their warranty policy.
In short, instead of sending your protectors back to get replacements, you simply pay for shipping on the site and provide your order information.
This process is a lot less of a hassle, and hopefully everyone takes up this policy.
I'm currently requesting a replacement, and I'll update everyone once the process is done.

Not really smart of them from a business perspective.... Leaves a lot of room for fraud... People claiming theirs is bad when it really isn't, then they just pay couple dollars shipping and get a new one. Unless they put the shipping to 10 dollars lol

I've never had to send any of my defectives back. Also never had to pay shipping for a replacement. I would make a claim. They ask for order number and a description. In their response they ask for pictures of the issues if you can. So they can fix / prevent it in the future.
As for fraudulent claims. You paid for your initial skin and pay shipping for the replacement. Which previously cost you nothing and cost them more. I'm sure they keep tabs on anyone making excessive claims..
I've had 3 problematic skins for the n4. This last one I can't cature the strange large soap bubble effects its left and scaring scratches everywhere aren't going away. I'm not gonna ask for a replacement. Just gonna get another brand. My cases make the front bubble even after a month on.

Im still waiting for my slim armor to come in the mail. phone slipped out of my hand while pulling it out of my pocket just now and it completely shattered. Sorry about your mishap. That sucks.
As for replacement...
"The impressive damage resistance of Gorilla Glass 3 is nothing to scoff at, but in no way is the glass layer of the Nexus 5 invulnerable. The right drop will send spider cracks across the display, destroying your ability to comfortably use your device. Like the Nexus 4, LG has bonded the front frame, LCD, and glass into one piece. Replacing the glass on your phone would mean replacing the entire front panel, which will make repairs unlikely and replacements expensive. Given the low cost of the phone on Google Play ($349), it’ll likely be close to half the cost of the phone just for the replacement part, followed by installation fees if you can’t do it yourself."

eBay have them for £180
It looks like it mainly came from the top right corner, wow this is a bummer. $250 on ebay.
Currently the best price I can find, if anyone finds one at a better price, please let me know.

They will either buy it back from your for same price you paid or ask them to send them a repair bill and the will credit you the cost of repair. There usealy no deduclatble and the lifetime limist are normally 5k+ so give it a try. This is a befit of buying an unlocked phone in full over a contract phone

Did you have simply check with Google services to ask them how much it would cost for them to replace your screen?
It sucks to break them at launch, I broke a $740 phone my girlfriend bought me for valentines day. It was a Verizon carrier model though so they weren't as popular nation wide and the only screens I could find were outrageous, I ended up buying a used DNA and swapping them, Google might replace it for like 100 or 150 bucks, Motorola used to do that.

I need to look into getting one of these credit cards. Mine has nothing like this. It does allow me have to have no international fees, no annual fees, so is great for travelling... but buyer protection does seem awesome.
Lg charges $120 to fix it.
so glad to hear about the stroke of luck! almost wanted to cry for you. lol

Why you don't ever want to buy from Seidio's webstore

Most of the time Seidio products can be purchased from Amazon at much lower prices but in the case of recently released Seidio items they're not available on Amazon yet so if you want the product Seidio's webstore is the only place to buy it. If I hadn't gone through this I would not have believed it possible but here's what it takes to return/exchange an item purchased on Seidio's webstore:
1) request approval for an RMA (note this first step is not getting a RMA it's getting approval to get one) by emailing under your login on their website
2) after the approval getting the RMA (instead of just filling out an RMA to begin with)
3) sending Seidio pictures of the item (done after the actual RMA is issued but not requested by Seidio until after the RMA is issued, completed & returned) Must be obvious to everybody but Seidio that if you ship them a damaged item they won't exchange/credit it.
4) Seidio emails you that they've received your returned item and will further advise you in 2-3 business days
5) You have to call their Customer Support to find out the outcome and if it's a store credit you have to contact them again after you order something to have them apply the store credit to your order.
And to top it all off Seidio gives you 7 days to return an item, a whole 7 days. It is completely obvious that Seidio deliberately makes every attempt to have you just forget about returning something because of all the steps and time involved and I'm guessing a lot of their customers do not go through the entire process.
Well guess what Seidio, if I spent all the time I did with your ridiculous return process I can spend a few more minutes telling my fellow forum members about it.
Compare the above to Amazon's 30 day return window where all you do is print a return label. And no Seidio does not provide a return label you can print, you have to address the return box yourself & pay for freight both ways.
Nice job Seidio, I'm sure this post will encourage a lot of orders from your webstore.

Greatful that I never had this issue with them.I dealt with them note 2 days.
BAD ASS NOTE 4 & GEAR S
It's BS like this that makes me essentially only ever order things from Amazon, and typically only if they're eligible for Prime shipping.
The bigger issue is that Seidio stuff is so overpriced...

Worse than that is the fact that it's not premium merchandise warranting their ridiculous prices. Three brands I'm familiar with BodyGlove, Ballistic & Otterbox actually have premium products. An Otterbox Defender is about the same price as the Seidio Convert and I think a far superior case. My BodyGlove ToughSuit and the Ballistic Tough Jacket Maxx are considerably less money, about a third less and both are better more protective cases cases than the Seidio. All Seidio is doing is overpricing inferior goods.
Such posts make me thankful I pay for Amazon Prime.
OP I'm sorry you had to go through this adventure for a simple exchange and thank you for warning us.
ordered a case from UAG for my note 3....was messed up.....
so guess what happened...
they sent me two replacement cases immediately and let me keep the original.
Great company.
Yea seidio stuff is overpriced for sure. I used to like SOME of their products but with their horrible cs and dip in quality lately they've lost me as a customer. At least with Otterbox the warranty last a year and all you do is take a photo to prove its authentic, not with seidio and they're arrogant and straight up deny well known issues with their products. Never again.

I'm going to be sending back my Convert Add On kit because both the rugged skin & the holster are unbelievably bad. After applying for an RMA last night I was notified by email it was approved and I can expect to receive it in 1-2 business days. I forgot to mention in my original post when you apply for an RMA you have to supply the product code(s), like Seidio doesn't have the info contained on the invoice they create when you order a product.
After my first (and last) experience with both Seidio's products and their dog & pony show for returning items I think Seidio should be crossed off anybody's list and put under the category of "don't even consider buying anything from them" and that includes on Amazon or any other independent reseller. As lousy as my Convert rugged skin is and a holster that caused my phone to fall to the floor when I bent over to tie my shoes owing to the flimsy method with which the holster is attached to the belt clip I must categorize their products as pure trash.
And the beat goes on.................
After receiving an email 3 days ago from Seidio's warranty/returns dept. advising me I would receive RMA return instructions in 1-2 days I called them today because I haven't received that email with those instructions and at 1:49pm CST and was told that dept. "was out to lunch". They are only open from 8:00am-5:00pm M-F.
When I do get the email IIRC they will be requesting I send them photos which of course will take several business days to reply to and if everything is satisfactory they will actually issue an RMA the better part of 2 weeks after I initiated the return request.
Seido as a company is "out to lunch".
unbelievable
Seidio received my garbage Convert Add On kit return Saturday March 14th and they just send an email yesterday acknowledging the return which stated there would be an additional 4 to 5 business day timeframe to "process" the return.
It took about 2 weeks for me to get them to issue an RMA including 3 phone calls after going through all the nonsense logged into their website to request a RMA, add in the week delay in acknowledging physical receipt of the return & the additional 4-5 business day timeframe to "process" the return it will take about a month before I even know if they will issue a refund & that doesn't include the 4 days shipping time.
Needless to say Seidio is way beyond ridiculous when trying to return defective merchandise purchased through their online store.
Hands down this is by far the worst experience I've ever had trying to return defective merchandise purchased online. No other experience even comes close.
As I've stated previously between their completely defective merchandise & their inane return process Seidio richly deserves to be out of business.
yup, this is why I always check amazon before buying something, if they have it in stock, I'll buy from them.
This is also the main reason I buy my phones from amazon. I know I can buy "new" phones from swappa which will be about $50 cheaper (for the case of Note 4 atm), I 'd rather spend 50 bucks more and have peace of mind thinking if there ever is a problem, returning and exchanging is only a few clicks.....

Unfortunately for me the Surface case & the Convert Add On kit weren't yet available on Amazon when I ordered them. I made the huge mistake of thinking Seidio sold premium quality products and thought I'd try one of their cases. The Surface case which I ordered last October when the N4 was released is good quality but it's way overpriced for the features it offers. Only reason I ordered it was to turn it into the Convert case/holster combo which took Seidio about another 3 months to release. So I immediately ordered the Convert Add On kit when it became available and it was total trash. The holster was literally unusable because it kept disconnecting from the belt clip causing my phone to drop to the ground and the rubber Convert cover slipped off the bottom edge every time I used the fingerprint scanner sometimes impeding use of the fingerprint scanner. The holster & rubber cover were so poorly designed I could not use them.
After I made my first post today I got another email from Seidio and if I'm understanding it correctly they are issuing a refund of zero. I'll have to call them for the 4th time and clarify that is the case. If so I will be initiating chargebacks with the banks that issued the credit cards used to make the purchases. I've never had reason to initiate a chargeback in my life but now that Seidio has taken so much of my time there is no way I'm going to just forget about it and lose $70 because their products are unusable junk.
I truly believe Seido's whole game plan for refunds is to make it so difficult you'll just forget about it. Without giving any great deal of thought to it I'd have to say Seidio may just be the worst company I've ever encountered and considering I've spent six decades on the planet that's saying something.
Good luck in getting your hard earned money back. I never liked seidio cases.
Thanks for the feedback, at least we know their game..
Similiar situation here..never again will I buy something from them.
I had the opposite experience. I agree that their site is overpriced. When I had a return they asked me to send pictures. They replied within one day and just sent me a whole new one. Once I had a small defect on the phone case after having it for 3 months. They also sent me a new one right away after I sent them pics. Sorry you guys are having such a hard time......

Dropped phone with Otterbox case.....

So I dropped my phone with the case on it and it hit the ground on a weird angle, because right above the spen holder in the corner it dented and cracked the glass. When I took the case off it was cracked from the bottom going towards the middle of the phone but closer to the edge.
So do I need to contact Otterbox, or sprint insurance? Or will nothing happen and I need to replace the back myself? I had sprint insurance since 2011 but never used it. So im not sure how it works, same with the Otterbox policy.
Sadly Otterbox does not cover the phone as well. I had the similar fate happen to my phone a few weeks ago. Sprint (asuron insurance) responds very fast at sending you a new (for me i got a brand new in oem box) phone. I got mine the next day as I made the claim before 10am CST. These phones are a bit much to replace on the insurance scale going at $200 for the deductible though it's better than paying full price for the thing.

Thanks. So do i send my old phone back once the new 1 comes in?
I guess its time to search for a better case. Sucks because I liked OB products.
No.... you pay the deductible and they fedex it out to you. They give you a package to send in the old phone within 10 days. Easy peasy
Yep as otamctech said, you submit the claim and they send the new phone with a return package. It's so that in-case your broken phone is possibly operational you can still use it till the new one arrives.

Phone scratched out of the box

I have a 1/8" hairline scratch in the lower left quadrant. I'm going into a Verizon store on the 11th to exchange it. Some quality control Samsung has.
I know that it sucks for you but you have to think that even if 10,000 phones have a scratch that is a very small percentage compared to what is made. Nothing is perfect. Good luck with your exchange, hopefully the next one is okay
Good luck.. They will probably say you scratched it after taking it out of the box, and that it's not a warranty issue. The fact is these phones will show some age as they get used, what you're describing doesn't sound like a big deal.

I've already called my local store and customer service and both assured me that there'd be no issues within 14 days, but thanks for your opinion!
Should be ok if it isn't obvious damage was caused after removal. It will be considered a DOA device (defective on arrival).
If you go to a store they will push back since you ordered it online but they CAN do it. I worked for VZW up until Jan 2015 and would get customers calling in all the time saying the store told them they couldn't. They can, and it is easier since you don't have any out of pocket expense. If you call in, they have to bill you for the new phone and you get a refund when they receive the DOA device. Make the store do it! Also, since DOA no restocking fee.
Got a new phone today!

I just picked up a new edge to day and mine is scratched on both lower back corners. I was cleaning it up to install my scratch guard for the back and noticed them. Looks like I'm off to Verizon tomorrow for a phone and Zagg replacement. The real bummer is they did such a nice job installing the screen protector. Definitely inspect your phone before you leave the store if you have the option to do so.

Yup, this is what they told me. The store was even nice and noted my account that the device is scratched so I can't return it But on a good note I contacted customer service they are sending me a new Zagg screen protector and credited my account $50.00. It still ticks me off that the store basically called me a liar and said phones don't scratch them selves. I suppose it could have been scratched when they installed the screen protector but either way I didn't do it. From now on I'm inspecting my phone before I leave the store or just deal with them online because they always take care of me when I deal with them on the phone.

Whitestone Dome Screen Protector - Unresponsive to Warranty or Replacement Shipping Delays?

Hi All,
Has anyone had an issue with Whitestone Dome customer service responding to warranty inquiries?
I have been using a Whitestone Dome glass screen protector on my last 3 phones. I've been very happy with the product and the few times I've shattered the screen protector, they were quick to replace it, via their warranty replacement program. (pay $10, send pics of broken screen protector)
This time it's very different. On Aug 11th (over a month ago) I uploaded proof of my shattered screen protector, paid the $10 and haven't heard back... No shipping info or estimate on when they would ship. I have sent FIVE emails to customer support and haven't heard back.
Has anyone had any luck lately with them?
Any suggestions on the next steps?
Thanks!
Yeap, huge problems with these offshore fktards. Avoid them... feel the wuv
I'm in the exact same situation. I have paid for and received several replacements and all have shipped within a week of payment and approval. But something has definitely changed because I submitted my last one on Aug 5 and it took 30 days for them to approve it and I still have not received it yet. I've sent several messages but they are terrible when it comes to responding.
Hopefully they'll see these posts or someone will have a solution that has worked for them. Their protectors are great, but it gets to a point where you gotta ask is it really worth the hassle?
I'm going to start looking elsewhere for a replacement for future protection.
Me too, for problems with Whitestone. I ordered directly from them in November, had a problem with their install jig and cracked the screen. Emailed back and forth for two months and finally just put in the warranty request and paid the $9.99. Weeks later, no replies, no screen glass, just a notification that I received a refund for the warranty replacement.
I have emailed several times asking why the warranty replacement was cancelled after being approved and paid for, but still no response at all. Not at all happy....seemed like it would be worth the high price as the reviews were so good and the warranty SOUNDED good, but I will stick with the less expensive brands that I have used in the past.
I prefer USA companies that have an excellent warranty. I went with IMBZBK based on Amazon reviews and my go to brand Tech Armor doesn't have S22 Ultra screen protectors yet. They sent ne an email to ensure Ibinstalled the protector correctlyb which does najenitbseem likebthe company cares. So far I'm very impressed with the overall quality and accessories included. I went with a film type protector to ensure case compatibility.
