[Q] "BT Headset settings for outgoing calls" doesn't work - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just purchased a BT Headset, and was trying to make out-going call direct from my BT Headset. I couldn't get it work. I noticed that it was due to the "screen lock". I tried unlock the screen from my Note 10.1 and it worked. This is very annoying. I noticed that there is a BT Headset settings for outgoing calls -> Outgoing call conditions -> Even when device locked, has been selected. But it still doesn't allow me to make outgoing call from my BT Headset without unlocking my screen. I tried reboot my Note 10.1, but problem still persists.
Has any guys encounter the same problem as mine? As at this moment, I have to disable the unlock screen feature foregoing the security.
My Note 10.1 Model: GT-N8020
Android Version: 4.1.1 (stock ROM)
rooted.

[P5100] Speakerphone problem ??

Hi all
I have a fully unlocked (from purchase) P5100 tablet which has been rooted for openvpn support. I set up a bluetooth headest with it and everything was ok.
After a few days mobile originiated GSM voice is no longer working properly although mobile terminating seems to work fine .
GSM Speakerphone calls ring once on the tablet then go silent. and this is total "audio shut down" silent, no hiss no nothing, the call proceeds but when the call is picked up at the remote (B party) end , there is no voice path either way but DTMF tones can be inserted to line from the keypad.
GSM tablet originated calls made with a stereo headphone (i.e. expecting to listen to the call on headphone using the tablets internal microphone) give the same result as GSM speakerphone
GSM inbound calls to headphones work as expected
VOIP calls route as expected
tried turning off BT and WIFI , rebooting , unpairing the BT headset ...no restoration of audio !!
Well....i'm stumped !!! anyone got any clues ???
regards
CQU
for the record - I have checked the obvious like the "in call" volume was set to maximum not set to "0"
try Reset factory setting
Factory reset hasnt fixed it, going back to supplier as 'not fit for purpose" under the sale of goods act
Specifically wanted a 5100 for gsm voice calling
Regards
CQU
same problem...
Hi, I've got the same issue...
Even after flashing several custom roms I can make between 0 and 2 succesful outgoing gsm phone calls after a reboot.
Maybe anyone knows a radio rom that works properly in the netherlands? I'm hoping that that might solve the issue. Unfortunately, samsung hasn't released a new version for the netherlands yet as far as I know...

[Q] No Bluetooth connection when screen turns off on Samsung Wave with CM11 badadroid

I recently installed Android 4.4.2 ( CyanogenMod CM11 badadroid 4.4 made available by @volk204 ) on my Samsung Wave 1 phone with Bada 2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2609560) . I use a bluetooth headset for my calls. The problem is the following: I have set the screen timeout to 1 minute. When I start a call, after one minute, when the screen turns off, the phone's connection to my headset breaks off and I cannot hear anything and cannot be heard either. As soon as I press a button on the phone and the screen turns on, the connection is established again and I can continue with my call. I don't have that problem when I don't use the bluetooth headset and speak directly to the phone.
Looking around on the web I found that there is a setting in the phone application (Phone->Call settings->Call Accessories->Outgoing call conditions), which must be set to "allow outgoing calls from bluetooth while device is locked". But I cannot find that setting in the Phone app of CM11 badadroid 4.4!
Anyone can help?

Bluetooth redirect question

I am trying to set up my watch and have looked around everywhere and only getting a couple of dead end results. I am hoping someone has a solution or work around for what seems like a basic problem. I have the s3 frontier and it is connected via bluetooth to lgv20 and the lgv20 is connected via bluetooth to plantronics voyager legend headset. My goal is to quick dial a contact from the watch and it be routed over to the earpiece seamlessly. Right now when i try to swap the call the only options available are phone and dial pad, the third (bluetooth headset) is greyed out. If i swap to the phone obviously the call plays over phone and i need to manually make the change to plantronics from the status bar. Ofcourse all this changes after the call and reverts back and defeats the point anyway if im pulling out the phone in the first place. I have tried disabling the call profile from the s3 but that disables my ability to make the call in the first place, which is not an option. I tried third party apps to reroute the call and "soundaround" worked once, once. Any options or theories would be very much appreciated, this is like the core reason i got this thing and cant believe it would be such a hassle.
I also have the SAME PROBLEM and I also would appreciate any help...
In my case I have an OnePlus 3T + Gear S3 Frontier. I have used several BT headsets with same "bad" result.
Thanks in advance...
I have a Huawei P9 Plus + Gear S3 Frontier + Plantronics M55...... and SAME PROBLEM, i can enable "call profile" on S3 or Headset but not both.
When I connect S3 and headphones to a mobile samsung the "call profile" can be enabled on both, I tried it with samsung KZoom, and all works fine !!!
I wrote the assistance Samsung ... I hope he has a solution because the problem occurs with all bluetooth headsets, including the car's hands-free !!!

Samsung S7 + Level U Bluetooth headset

Hi All,
I am facing issues with my Samsung S7 Bluetooth connectivity to my Samsung Level U headset.
I can play media normally, however i am not able to engage in any kind of phone call (Whether over GSM or through VoIP)
Hence i can play music, record a whatsapp voice note, however regular phone calls, whatsapp calls, viber, line and all such things don't work.
What happens is that the Bluetooth icon becomes active in the call, however nothing can be heard... i would require to disable the Bluetooth icon in the calling application in order to hear again through the phone speakers.
I tried the following workarounds and none of them worked.
- Wipe the cache
- reset Bluetooth settings
- installed new firmware
- reinstalled Bluetooth application from samsung...
PS. the headset works great on other phones (iPhone, Samsung S5....) so i don't think it is a headset issue..
Appreciate your support and Thank you!
Is 'Phone Audio' clicked on in the Bluetooth connection for the headset along with 'Media Audio'?

Answer/make calls with BT model

I have the Huawei Watch 2 Sport Bluetooth model and I am wondering if it is possible to answer and make calls through the watch's speaker via the BT connection to the phone? I've setup a "hard BT connection" to the phone meaning 'Phone audio' is checked in BT settings on phone and I've also enabled 'Play phone voice call on watch' on the watch, permissions should be all good and set to go, but still everytime I answer a call on the wrist I get a prompt saying to proceed with the call on the phone.
Is that really a limitation even though the watch has a speaker (and a mic)?
Hi Floordust,
Did you ever manage to fix this? I've the same issue.
Thx.
Hi, had the same issue. But in settings > connectivity > bluetooth disable the option to answer calls on your smartwatch and enable it again.
I think there was a problem once with an update or something else. But for now i can answer calls on my watch (i have just to be sure that he is correctly connected via Bluetooth to my phone because sometimes i connect to my car an after that bluetooth won't connect again with my watch) ï
