Does anyone get media info over bluetooth? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I did not with either stock ROM or ViperXL, Media info is blank. I know my head unit supports it as I had it with my Iphone.

The HTC Bluetooth stack doesn't support the Bluetooth profile AVRCP 1.3 by which track title, artist, etc. are displayed on the head unit.
On my old phone (Desire Z) switching to an AOSP ROM would allow the track info to be displayed. But no AOSP ROM I've tried on the One X does it.

drat, is this something HTC would likely later add into the stack?

Track Title display on MW600

Hi all,
I bought the MW600 bluetooth (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B003DQ1DCM) and everything connects fine. I can play, go to next track and back. I can even accept calls and change volume. The only thing I can't do is see the current track playing. This is the primary reason why I bought the device.
I'm sure that this device works with the intended phones (sony Ericsson) but is there anyway to have track title be displayed on the MW600?
Is there also anyway to display custom data? I think if the MW600 can't display the track titles, at least have some way to display any text (as a poc).
Thanks for reading.
Hello,
I've got a Sony Ericsson X10 Mini with a custom version of CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3.7). Since the CM7 RC0 release, the AVRCP 1.3 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVRCP ) module was added in BlueZ (the Bluetooth stack in Android & Linux in general). So, if you install CM7 on your device, you'll get track name!
I also thought about display custom text/data on MW600, and I think that we need to emulate the stock/CM music player, because it's the only player who display track...
Unfortunatly, I haven't yet the skills to code an Android app to do that :/
Hope that's help, and sorry for my english
PS: on the original Sony ROM, the track name doesn't show (like all Android w/o CM yet

[Q] Audio Track tags not showing via BT

Hey guys,
I'll start with a disclaimer, I only just installed this headunit, so it could be a headunit compatibility issue - I'll pull out my Atrix at some stage and try pairing that, but it's in a drawer at work at the moment.
When pairing my One X with my Kenwood DDX4038BT, I get phonebook, phone calls, audio (with play/pause/next/back working) all without issue - however when playing audio, the headunit does not display the track, artist and album tags on screen. I've googled for a bit and there's been some implications that it may be an issue with the stock Music app.
If this is the case, can someone suggest a known working alternative, and is it possible to get this alternative embedded in Car Mode? (I'm unlocked and rooted, only running stock ROM at the moment, but happy to do whatever is necessary)
If it's not the case, has anyone been able to get audio tags to display, and if so, how?
Cheers!
That's because HTC does not support Bluetooth profile AVCRP 1.3. I have been also looking for a solution or mod but no luck so far.
Ah-hah... now I understand that, google is a little more help... it looks as though AVCRP 1.3 was in a CM9 nightly at some stage, I'm just not sure if it's in the CM9 build for One X
Coming from the Desire Z, and having flashed many a ROM on that phone, I can tell you that HTC Sense ROMs never display the track title, artist, album info on car head units. This includes various Sense build from Sense 2.X and 3.x. So its no surprise that this phone is not displaying the track info on my car head unit. This jives with what calin75 stated. My old phone running CM7 displayed the track info on my car stereo just fine. If this is a big deal for you, then CM should be your solution.
By the way, this forum is for the US/Canada version of the One X, with the Snapdragon S4 chipset. You probably want to be here:

How to update AVRCP to 1.4 on stock rooted 4.4.3?

I have a stock rooted (4.4.3) Nexus 5 and a brand new 2014 Mazda 3 with the bluetooth and nav. I want to be able to browse my music playlists, and artist, etc. from the nav like I can with an iPhone. I also want to be able to view my texts, and emails like I can with an HTC One M8. However, the music over bluetooth with the N5 only allows for skipping through every song in whatever order they are in my music player on the N5. The text messages and emails also never load. I get a notification that I got them, but cant view them like I can with the HTC. There obviously is some incompatibility here. Any ideas?
--- Update---
Turns out the issue is 4.4.3 is not running AVRCP 1.4 which is required for root music folder exploring and viewing texts, etc. Anyone try and update to 1.4 on stock rooted 4.4.3?

I did not attempt to because it wasn't my phone. Never figured it out for the N5 either.

Question about bluetooth

I'm just got the device and installed the android 5.0 bacon, I have a DVD in my car that I use to play music with it Throw my nexus 5.
With the one plus one it's still playing music but I can get the names of the songs and the time and all those data, any idea if it is a rom problem it phone problem?
Sorry about my English.
That would be a ROM problem. There's many UNOFFICIAL 5.0 ROM's out there so see if it supports avrcp or whatever Bluetooth protocol it is to get that info over Bluetooth. Some do some don't. All in that particular ROM's thread

Bluetooth metadata, Android and Kenwood KDC-X997

Bluetooth metadata (artist, trackname, etc for songs) hasn't worked since 4.4.4 w/ my HTC One M8 on my Kenwood KDC-X997. Lollipop and now Marshmallow will not display the artist name and track title. Kenwood is probably done issuing firmware updates for this headunit (the last one was Jan 2014). Does anyone know of a decent head unit that fully supports Bluetooth metadata from android phones running the latest version (Marshmallow). It's quite frustrating to know this feature works in older versions of android; it's kept me from updating to the latest version. And I don't wanna buy a new head unit unless I'm 100% certain that the artist name and track title will display when streaming music from my phone; I use Google Play Music.
anyone w/ some insight on this issue??
