Bluetooth metadata, Android and Kenwood KDC-X997 - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Bluetooth metadata (artist, trackname, etc for songs) hasn't worked since 4.4.4 w/ my HTC One M8 on my Kenwood KDC-X997. Lollipop and now Marshmallow will not display the artist name and track title. Kenwood is probably done issuing firmware updates for this headunit (the last one was Jan 2014). Does anyone know of a decent head unit that fully supports Bluetooth metadata from android phones running the latest version (Marshmallow). It's quite frustrating to know this feature works in older versions of android; it's kept me from updating to the latest version. And I don't wanna buy a new head unit unless I'm 100% certain that the artist name and track title will display when streaming music from my phone; I use Google Play Music.

anyone w/ some insight on this issue??

[Q] Bluetooth AVRCP (skip etc) not working on latest SD JaguarMIUI-V21(MIUI 2.3.2)

Hi Everyone,
As a newbie I'm not allowed to post in the JaguarMiui ROM development thread directly (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058809).
I wondered if anyone else is having problems with the latest JaguarMiui Android ROM (v21) for the HTC HD2 and it not skipping songs via AVRCP in the MIUI Music player?
i had been using JaguarMiui version 14 with my Sony BT3900U car head unit without problems, but with version 21, i cannot get the songs to skip/pause etc when pressing the buttons on my head unit.
Streaming of the music itself works fine via Bluetooth (A2DP).
I've tried downloading stock android music player and this does not work either, which means its must be something to do with the ROM itself.
I've browsed around these and other forums/google without finding anything.
Any hints or tips anyone?
Thanks

Track Title display on MW600

Hi all,
I bought the MW600 bluetooth (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B003DQ1DCM) and everything connects fine. I can play, go to next track and back. I can even accept calls and change volume. The only thing I can't do is see the current track playing. This is the primary reason why I bought the device.
I'm sure that this device works with the intended phones (sony Ericsson) but is there anyway to have track title be displayed on the MW600?
Is there also anyway to display custom data? I think if the MW600 can't display the track titles, at least have some way to display any text (as a poc).
Thanks for reading.
Hello,
I've got a Sony Ericsson X10 Mini with a custom version of CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3.7). Since the CM7 RC0 release, the AVRCP 1.3 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVRCP ) module was added in BlueZ (the Bluetooth stack in Android & Linux in general). So, if you install CM7 on your device, you'll get track name!
I also thought about display custom text/data on MW600, and I think that we need to emulate the stock/CM music player, because it's the only player who display track...
Unfortunatly, I haven't yet the skills to code an Android app to do that :/
Hope that's help, and sorry for my english
PS: on the original Sony ROM, the track name doesn't show (like all Android w/o CM yet

[Q] Audio Track tags not showing via BT

Hey guys,
I'll start with a disclaimer, I only just installed this headunit, so it could be a headunit compatibility issue - I'll pull out my Atrix at some stage and try pairing that, but it's in a drawer at work at the moment.
When pairing my One X with my Kenwood DDX4038BT, I get phonebook, phone calls, audio (with play/pause/next/back working) all without issue - however when playing audio, the headunit does not display the track, artist and album tags on screen. I've googled for a bit and there's been some implications that it may be an issue with the stock Music app.
If this is the case, can someone suggest a known working alternative, and is it possible to get this alternative embedded in Car Mode? (I'm unlocked and rooted, only running stock ROM at the moment, but happy to do whatever is necessary)
If it's not the case, has anyone been able to get audio tags to display, and if so, how?
Cheers!
That's because HTC does not support Bluetooth profile AVCRP 1.3. I have been also looking for a solution or mod but no luck so far.
Ah-hah... now I understand that, google is a little more help... it looks as though AVCRP 1.3 was in a CM9 nightly at some stage, I'm just not sure if it's in the CM9 build for One X
Coming from the Desire Z, and having flashed many a ROM on that phone, I can tell you that HTC Sense ROMs never display the track title, artist, album info on car head units. This includes various Sense build from Sense 2.X and 3.x. So its no surprise that this phone is not displaying the track info on my car head unit. This jives with what calin75 stated. My old phone running CM7 displayed the track info on my car stereo just fine. If this is a big deal for you, then CM should be your solution.
By the way, this forum is for the US/Canada version of the One X, with the Snapdragon S4 chipset. You probably want to be here:

Question about bluetooth

I'm just got the device and installed the android 5.0 bacon, I have a DVD in my car that I use to play music with it Throw my nexus 5.
With the one plus one it's still playing music but I can get the names of the songs and the time and all those data, any idea if it is a rom problem it phone problem?
Sorry about my English.
That would be a ROM problem. There's many UNOFFICIAL 5.0 ROM's out there so see if it supports avrcp or whatever Bluetooth protocol it is to get that info over Bluetooth. Some do some don't. All in that particular ROM's thread

Audio Files cut off - PX5 Android 8.0

Hello,
I've got a Pumpkin AE0273B Headunit with an MTCE_KLD MCU (original: v2.87, currently v2.91 sound patched). I've installed the Navigation System Here WeGo and recognized that the Audio Files where cut off. For Example if it says "Follow the Street" the Headunit only Plays "Follow the Stre". First i thought it is an Error from the App and tested the Soundfiles with the preinstalled Player. But this one cuts it off too. After that I tested it with the vlc for android with disabled Hardware Acceleration and the same happenend. After that I copied the Files to my PC but there they play until the end. So I tried it on my Smartphone (also Android 8.0) and also there they play until the end.
The Audio stops about 500 ms before the end of the File. I've tested it with the Stock Firmware, the Hal9k Rom and the Malaysk Rom but always the same Result.
Maybe someone can give me a Hint where I can look what the Problem is.
I've checked the Logcat but there is nothing special I would say. I also tried other Files like MP3, they have the same Problem. I've tested some Parameter in the Converter, for Example constant Bitrate and variable Bitrate no changes. Then I extended the Files with 500ms of silence and they play until the speech end but it is not a real solution more a workaround. And if the Navi App plays more Wav files like "Follow the Street for 10 km" the Start of the next Wav file "for" sounds awful like it is combining two Audio Outputs.
Greetings reifl
Hi there,
Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am now experiencing this issue as well... stock firmware, PX5, Android 8.
I first noticed it with Google Assistant, then with navigation.
Cheers
I had that problem with the PX5 MTCD/MTCE as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure it wasn't fixed in Android 9.0 either. Very recently I got a CSN2 PX5 HU by accident, and it is without this issue.
Thanks for the confirmation. I thought the issue might only be with my unit...
Just in case anyone else gets this issue, the details of my unit are:
Build number: px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20180706.161540 test-keys
MCU version: MTCE_CZ_V3.06_2
It is a HIZPO Unit (not allowed to post the link).
Apart from the audio cutting out prematurely, it is a top little unit! Straight forward to install - a little soldering here and there. Wasn't a perfect fit in to my trusty 2004 Camry, so it needed a little persuasion.
Same here for me on Android 10.
Kernel: 4.19.111+ (#2262)
MCU: MTCE_HF_V3.55_1 (Jun 4 2020 11:17:35)
Build: rk3368-userdebug 10 QQ2A.200305.004.A1 eng.hct2.20200915.135247 test-keys
Model: H2(1280x720) - Seicane H240N
