Track Title display on MW600 - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I bought the MW600 bluetooth (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B003DQ1DCM) and everything connects fine. I can play, go to next track and back. I can even accept calls and change volume. The only thing I can't do is see the current track playing. This is the primary reason why I bought the device.
I'm sure that this device works with the intended phones (sony Ericsson) but is there anyway to have track title be displayed on the MW600?
Is there also anyway to display custom data? I think if the MW600 can't display the track titles, at least have some way to display any text (as a poc).
Thanks for reading.

Hello,
I've got a Sony Ericsson X10 Mini with a custom version of CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3.7). Since the CM7 RC0 release, the AVRCP 1.3 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVRCP ) module was added in BlueZ (the Bluetooth stack in Android & Linux in general). So, if you install CM7 on your device, you'll get track name!
I also thought about display custom text/data on MW600, and I think that we need to emulate the stock/CM music player, because it's the only player who display track...
Unfortunatly, I haven't yet the skills to code an Android app to do that :/
Hope that's help, and sorry for my english
PS: on the original Sony ROM, the track name doesn't show (like all Android w/o CM yet

Media players & Bluetooth Controls

Has anyone noticed if bluetooth headphone buttons can control any other music players other than the HTC Player since the update?
I have tried several music apps (Mixzing, Meridian and a few others) that support a2dp control but my headphones will only control the default player. I have even removed the HTC music player completely from the phone (hoping that the button control would get reassigned to another app) but then the button just doesn't work at all.
The only clue I have comes from the "mixzing" player forum:
http://mixzing.freeforums.org/post92.html?hilit=bluetooth#p92
I got my headphones (Sony Erricson HBH-IS800) after the update was released so I don't know whether or not this is new behavior?
I'm just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this. I'm not a big fan of the default player and would like to get away from it.
I should add that I am using the "Unofficial" Modaco/Obelisk79 2.1c ROM and also the Optimization made by ruskiyab.
I'm curious too. My previous phone (Palm Pre) allowed whatever music app was playing to be controlled via BT. This included Pandora which was very convenient in the car.

I can't get it to work with any other media player including Pandora.
I think I may make a nandroid backup and then flash back to pre-update stock to see if there's any difference.
Don't bother. I checked that my first day with stock ROM. Functions exactly as the custom ROM's do.

Lol! Thanks for the warning. I was about to attempt it while sitting here at Jiffy Lube.
There's got to be a way to fix this. The guy who posted on the mixzing forum sounded like he was onto something with the button priority assignments for the different media players. I don't know how to change these and probably should not mess with it anyway.

[Q] Bluetooth AVRCP (skip etc) not working on latest SD JaguarMIUI-V21(MIUI 2.3.2)

Hi Everyone,
As a newbie I'm not allowed to post in the JaguarMiui ROM development thread directly (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058809).
I wondered if anyone else is having problems with the latest JaguarMiui Android ROM (v21) for the HTC HD2 and it not skipping songs via AVRCP in the MIUI Music player?
i had been using JaguarMiui version 14 with my Sony BT3900U car head unit without problems, but with version 21, i cannot get the songs to skip/pause etc when pressing the buttons on my head unit.
Streaming of the music itself works fine via Bluetooth (A2DP).
I've tried downloading stock android music player and this does not work either, which means its must be something to do with the ROM itself.
I've browsed around these and other forums/google without finding anything.
Any hints or tips anyone?
Thanks

[Q] Audio Track tags not showing via BT

Hey guys,
I'll start with a disclaimer, I only just installed this headunit, so it could be a headunit compatibility issue - I'll pull out my Atrix at some stage and try pairing that, but it's in a drawer at work at the moment.
When pairing my One X with my Kenwood DDX4038BT, I get phonebook, phone calls, audio (with play/pause/next/back working) all without issue - however when playing audio, the headunit does not display the track, artist and album tags on screen. I've googled for a bit and there's been some implications that it may be an issue with the stock Music app.
If this is the case, can someone suggest a known working alternative, and is it possible to get this alternative embedded in Car Mode? (I'm unlocked and rooted, only running stock ROM at the moment, but happy to do whatever is necessary)
If it's not the case, has anyone been able to get audio tags to display, and if so, how?
Cheers!
That's because HTC does not support Bluetooth profile AVCRP 1.3. I have been also looking for a solution or mod but no luck so far.
Ah-hah... now I understand that, google is a little more help... it looks as though AVCRP 1.3 was in a CM9 nightly at some stage, I'm just not sure if it's in the CM9 build for One X
Coming from the Desire Z, and having flashed many a ROM on that phone, I can tell you that HTC Sense ROMs never display the track title, artist, album info on car head units. This includes various Sense build from Sense 2.X and 3.x. So its no surprise that this phone is not displaying the track info on my car head unit. This jives with what calin75 stated. My old phone running CM7 displayed the track info on my car stereo just fine. If this is a big deal for you, then CM should be your solution.
By the way, this forum is for the US/Canada version of the One X, with the Snapdragon S4 chipset. You probably want to be here:

[Q] Audio lag over bluetooth

I have read all the other threads about this...but wanted to bring this up on out RAZR HD forum.
The phone is great so far... It has been a whole new android experience for me since the Xperia Play ICS update cancellation, but something I really miss from my Xperia is using my bluetooth headset for movies and gaming...
On this phone (XT925) the lag over bluetooth is annoying... and the fact that It came without any wired headset and that I can't use my Samsung Jet or Xperia Play handsfree headsets because the phone does not recognize them, make it even worse
So far I noticed the problem on 3rd party apps, because the lag is present on all games and downloaded video players (like Mobo), If I use the Stock video or audio player the lag disappears completely... too bad the stock player doesnt allow subtitles via SRT files...
Gaming is awful with the Lag... but I cant live without the sound anyway...
I'm using a Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth headset with my RAZR HD... and I love this little device, I'm also concerned why It was able to fully work on my previous phone (Xperia Play, rooted GB 2.3.4) and not on a more advanced OS version.
Is there any workaround for this? I don't know maybe a way to make the stock player read ther SRT subtitles files or to make thr mobo player compesate the LAG?
Thanks for your help
Aside from trying to re-pair, I'm not sure if there's anything you can do.
The bright side is that we should be getting the JB update soon. With that will surely come new bluetooth binaries. Hopefully, it makes things better for you.

Bluetooth metadata, Android and Kenwood KDC-X997

Bluetooth metadata (artist, trackname, etc for songs) hasn't worked since 4.4.4 w/ my HTC One M8 on my Kenwood KDC-X997. Lollipop and now Marshmallow will not display the artist name and track title. Kenwood is probably done issuing firmware updates for this headunit (the last one was Jan 2014). Does anyone know of a decent head unit that fully supports Bluetooth metadata from android phones running the latest version (Marshmallow). It's quite frustrating to know this feature works in older versions of android; it's kept me from updating to the latest version. And I don't wanna buy a new head unit unless I'm 100% certain that the artist name and track title will display when streaming music from my phone; I use Google Play Music.
anyone w/ some insight on this issue??
