Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22591244
But if u want to avail ur warranty, that would not be possible! As on the bootloader screen it would show relocked instead of locked, so they'll get to know

[Q] Unlock bootloader? yes or no?

Hi,
I bought a Xperia Arc S two weeks ago,
Which are the main advantages of unlocking the bootloader?
Should I do it now or wait till the warranty ends?
Thanks a lot
jfgi

I just want an opinion if it is to soon to unlock it or not!
How should we know if it to soon?
To soon till what???
Is there something you want to do that requires an unlocked bootloader, do it.
If not why would you want to do it?
If you just want to have an unlocked bootloader for having an unlocked bootloader, do it.
Your choice.

Yeap! I wanted to install some themes because I think its to soon to install a ROM!
But to install themes I also need the bootloaded unlocked!
The phone has 2 weeks! I think its too soon
unlock the bootloader... its not a big deal... just make sure you correctly follow any and all directions
The only thing Im worried about is the warranty!
I dont know if Im gonna need it! xD
im not familiar with your device, so researching this is on you... but you may be able to re-lock the bootloater... if you can, i say go for it
Thanks Probably will!
best of luck to ya! im sure youve found it... but if not, i believe the link below is the correct one for your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=962
You can screw your phone up the same amount by changing theme, as changing the ROM.
Unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty, you can't unvoid warranty, once gone its gone. You can hope to restore it to a state where they won't notice, but the warranty is nothing physical you can handle, but something legal.

[Q] chacha back to full stock!

Ok i know this is the dev section but there is no Q&A so i'm asking here.
I'm not really used to HTC, i just flashed CM on my girlfriend desire but it was already unlocked.
Now i friend that has unlocked chacha via htc-dev has a hardware problem. he has unlocked bootloader, stock GB rom and CWM recovery.
Now he wants to put it back to stock in order to get warranty reparation of phone from htc. the problem is that some key of the keyboard are not working and also the green phone botton, but he fears that they will say you rooted f**k you man pay for the repair.
He asked to me because i'm sort of the phone guy between my friend so i will help you, but can someone give me a guide of how to put it back to stock?
thanks in advace!
dago
It's not possible to revert HTC ChaCha(or any of HTC's phones) back to **LOCKED** as far as I know. But you can always revert back to stock rom and unroot as a result.
So there is no re-lock bootloader option?
ok! but as dar as i know just unlock it via htc dev should let the warranty alive. so how to unroot and falsh back original rom and recovery?? thanks

You can re-lock the bootloader but it will flag itself as **RELOCKED**.
There is a tutorial on how you can revert back to stock rom and recovery in forums. You will find it if you do a little research.
U can relock it with htcdev....but it will be flaged as relocked...
Sent from my HTC ChaCha A810e using xda app-developers app
you can lock bootloader by simply typing this code in the adb "fastboot oem lock"
nice info smell, they won't be looking for those kind of things if you have the stock room, I have a couple of almost dead keys because I slept with my phone under and the keys are too sensible to actually get away with it.
They repaired the keys once, then it happened again (because of the sleeping thing) and finally they changed the phone.

[Q] Totally Revert To Stock For Warranty

Is there any way by which we can achieve stock intact ROM, recovery image and NO root and yes, locked boot-loader for warranty purpose. If there is , please share it !!

i also need this .. type info .. cause RUU gives me signature error or sumthng ... n have to flash thorugh fastboot but the bootloader says: RE-LOCKED .. ;(
Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500165
And download RUU from here http://androidfiles.org/ruu/?developer=Pico
Regards .
Even if you go back to stock with RUU, you cant claim warranty! Because now the bootloader will show relocked instead of locked!
SO there is no way to get the "LOCKED" status back once you unlock the boot-loader ?
and i also read somewhere that using htcdev to unlock bootloader gives them our IMEI and so, they know about our device even if we reset it and htc can cause us not to have warranty or so and we can't give any stupid reasons to the service centers to believe we did nothing wrong.

You can read VERY carefully the s-off thread, somewhere there was .img , that you can flash and it will show locked, but also it will stuck on hboot screen, so it's up to you.

Do you NEED to? No, and most certainly not for the uses you've just mentioned.
Should you?
Decide for yourself!

I am sure there are plenty of people that have bought the phone that don't even know xda exist or what rooting/ unlocking the boot loader means which is fine. But since you are here yes do it you won't be sorry.
Follow the above URL instead of using chainfire or whatever Google comes up with in the first search results. It has been causing problems and goofy things.

No you don't and also, no you shouldn't. Not unless you identify the need to. People jump into root for no reason and without understanding. These people often break their phones. Don't let this be you.

Even if you don't decide to root right away, I would suggest at the very least unlocking the bootloader before setting up your phone. When you unlock, it wipes all your data so it's best to get it out of the way before you invest too much time setting up your phone. If you unlock but never decide to root, it's no big deal, but at least you're covered if you do decide to take the plunge.

[Q] I need help with my Htc One M8 Verizon (Rooted)

I purchased a Verizon htc one m8 off some guy and i went home erased the phone a 2nd time and realized something called SuperSu was installed and i knew right then & there this fool gave sold me rooted phone so i click the app and pressed full unroot then restarted the phone the app was erased... Restarted the phone in bootloader mode or what ever and the top says Unlocked and S-off but no tampered sign and the software status says official so the questions i have are
1) Do i have to re root this phone in order to lock the bootloader and return to S-on?
2) Will re locking the bootloader or returning to S-on brick my device or any chance of bricking my device ?
3)If my software status says official is that good or bad ?
4) Will i be able to install future updates at all if i leave the device like it is now ?
Thnak you for taking your time to read this.
Why would you want to relock it? Learn how to do things this way and take advantage is the fact that you aren't locked down to Verizon's chains.

Verizon doesnt care if its rooted or S-OFF.
If I have to send a phone back I send it with my own ROMS on them.
They have never said anything.
As well, I dont recommend turning S-On as you have a much greater chance of bricking the phone.
I would just leave it as it is... Well, actually... I would load my ROM
Well lol
