[Q] extend userdata and flashing order ZTE V970 - ZTE Grand X V970

Hi,
I would like to flash my ZTE v970 with bruno 3.1mod. But because the phone has only 2gb memory /512mb, i would like to instal the "extended userdata mod". I understood that than the internel memory is disabled then, and all data will be writtten on to the external Sd card ( 8-16-or 32 GB)
Now i am wondering what is the correct order in flashing my device.
1) flash extended userdata etc
2) flash recovery
3) flash 3.1 mod
or
1)flash recovery
2) extended userdata
3) flash 3.1 mod
???????
So i'm bit confused. would be nice if someone could explain this to me!
Thanx
BTW. I got this phone from etotalk, with their ROM. there seems to be a problem with their CWM recovery. help?

[Q] kernel manager problem and nand question

I have a rooted stock rom and tried flashing a kernel via KM but when I hit "download and flash" it takes me back to the kernel list. Anyone know how to fix this?
Question 2
Can i use the 32gb of internal memory to nand backup and flash roms and kernels with cwm? Or will factory reset, wipe procedures before flashing new roms also clear up the internal memory where I plan on storing roms and nand backups?

If you want to flash a kernel, why not just go to the Xoom Heaven thread in General; it's a compendium of Xoom resources. It'n not exhaustive but it's a wonderful place to start.
I'm not sure that Kernel Manager has been updated to work properly to flash current Xoom kernels.
OK, you are better off using the custom CWM Tiamat v3.2.0.0 R4c recovery, which will enable you to flash zip files from, and back-up to, the external microsd card. Get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074979
You can use the CWM v4.0.0.4 from Rom Manager to back-up to your internal storage, but it could get wiped, and you will not be able to flash any roms or kernels from internal storage (sdcard). the v4.0.0.x does not recognize the external microsd card.
There is a new recovery, based on the v4 which uses a usb thumb drive (check out the Rogue Recovery, if interested).

formatted everything ! need help please

Hi everybody !
well i think messed up and I really need your help please
I went through recovery and I formatted every thing ( system cache data everythig ) and now , of course I can't open phone !
Is there any solution to write any rom on my phone to boot up ? please i need help !
You would need to reflash a rom. More info here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427
thanks for the help but even the stock rom is deleted even if i try to access to sd card through twrp rcovery it says :can't mound sd card how can i put a zip file on my sd card that can't be read by phone ?? please help
Well if it can't mount the sdcard theres a simple solution (sorry, can't find the thread anymore with the tutorial)
Basically use something like Hasoons All in One Tool, go into fastboot and flash the stock revovery.
Then go back to the bootloader and first clear the storage, then do a factory reset (out of the bootloader menu)
Then you can flash your other recovery again and it should be able to read the sdcard.
Can you enter the bootloader? If you can, you could run a stock ruu.
I finally got my SD card to mount, now how do I put a ROM on the SD card and flash it?

[Q] problem installing the rom Darkroom Music Edition XXL, somebody help me!

installed the rom "V28b Prerooted with larger System / Data Partitions" in order to install the rom "Darkroom Music Edition XXL", already tried several times and nothing works, put the rom in the internal memory card, do the wipes that are sent in the tutorial, and nothing but "Security error" out, what am I doing wrong? Or the tutorial is poorly explained? Usage of the TWRP v28b rom that is on the site of the tutorial.
Someone put this tutorial could be clearer?
For large partition v28B, after flashing it you must enter System Settings/Storage and erase internal memory (not external sd ) to format internal storage, before anything else.

you say the "wipe internal storage"? but I put the rom in the internal memory, and when I do it and then when I go to install zip (if the rom) everything disappears. What do not know what else to do to with the rom 28b installed again, but now so I will do the procedure again when you have a more concrete solution.
After flashing v28B Large, start up the phone (follow the Android guy to start the phone the first time). Then erase internal memory in Android System Settings, not in TWRP. Yes, it will erase everything in memory. It formats the memory to be 'big.' If this is not done, a ROM like XXL can't fit, that's why it fails to install.
If you look at system memory available space and internal memory available space before you erase... after erasing you will see a size difference.
Then copy ROM zip to internal memory (or micro sd external memory), enter recovery, perform wipes as indicated, and install ROM.

Choose your country's firmware from here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/firmware-Lg+Optimus+3D-Tutti-2.html and then extract the kdz file you downloaded to bin and fls files with this tool http://d-h.st/kIz
Ok I looked over there; that ROM requires wkpark custom bootloader 1.25a. That may explain the trouble. So enter TWRP, first install wkpark 1.25 and then the ROM.
There are links someplace to stock v30A but an alternative is XBSA v8, no custom bootloader required. After installing v28B, installing XBSA v8 updates firmware to v30A.

You need to flash different recovery its in rom . Find
VERY FAST
VERY STABLE
VERY SMOOTH
LOW BATTERY
MADE BY DARKROOM
Then picture above and text above thats it read it and change recovery.
Try this before you give up on this rom its 1000000 times better than stock.

Need Help with CM 12.1 Flashing - ROM Move

Hello,
I was going to flash CM 12.1 into my Xperia L, but stupidly I forgot to copy the ROM into internal storage, it was on SD card, so I believe Cyno Recovery could not detect the necessary system files to flash from SD. Is there any way to move ROM (i.e. make the pc recognize &read the storage partitions) into internal storage without flashing the stock rom?
Also, if I would flash the stock from from SD, will the same problem happen again? So am I stuck?
Thanks in advance.

Flash TWRP/Philz touch and boot into it, mount your device and the PC will detect it, also, It shouldn't be a problem if its in the Ext SD card. You can get Philz Touch by flashing Thunderzap through fastboot

As @priyank.g mentioned, you can flash any boot image having a custom recovery. Pretty much all custom recoveries at this point support flashing from sdcard. If you can boot into any recovery at all, it should allow you to adb push it to your device. Just get an old thunderzap zip, extract the boot image and flash it through fastboot. Get into recovery using the volume keys and flash your rom.
Thank you both,
I have also tried Philz and TWRP, luckily TWRP had somewhat forced the flash into the phone after some tries while Philz and CWM had insisted on fail.
I can declare case is officially closed. :good:

After installing system apps take up that much of space....and plus app data and stuff..it's normal
I'm sorry I can't understand please explain for me
And how the best ideal install rom
Its quite simple and installation instructions are given with every rom anyways as you have unlocked the bootloader now
1. download any zip file of the rom of your choice and place it in internal storage
2. download gapps. for Lenovo P2 select arm64 version. nano package of opengapps will be good https://opengapps.org/
2. boot into twrp
3. wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache (don't wipe internal storage)
4. now go to install and browse for the rom zip file and flash it
5. flash gapps
6. reboot into system
