Hello,
I was going to flash CM 12.1 into my Xperia L, but stupidly I forgot to copy the ROM into internal storage, it was on SD card, so I believe Cyno Recovery could not detect the necessary system files to flash from SD. Is there any way to move ROM (i.e. make the pc recognize &read the storage partitions) into internal storage without flashing the stock rom?
Also, if I would flash the stock from from SD, will the same problem happen again? So am I stuck?
Thanks in advance.

Flash TWRP/Philz touch and boot into it, mount your device and the PC will detect it, also, It shouldn't be a problem if its in the Ext SD card. You can get Philz Touch by flashing Thunderzap through fastboot

As @priyank.g mentioned, you can flash any boot image having a custom recovery. Pretty much all custom recoveries at this point support flashing from sdcard. If you can boot into any recovery at all, it should allow you to adb push it to your device. Just get an old thunderzap zip, extract the boot image and flash it through fastboot. Get into recovery using the volume keys and flash your rom.
Thank you both,
I have also tried Philz and TWRP, luckily TWRP had somewhat forced the flash into the phone after some tries while Philz and CWM had insisted on fail.
I can declare case is officially closed. :good:

Yes the 5.5.0.4 and 5.8.1.8 flash file from the internal storage.
It work great, just keep in mind NOT to use something like the Superwipe script
as it will wipe everything from the internal storage, leaving you with nothing to flash and no OS.
Hi,
I'm running an Transformer TF101 with Clockwork Mod Recovery v5.8.3.4.
However some time ago I removed the zip file with the ROM from within the SD Card memory space - that of course being actually the internal 16GB of storage and not a MicroSD.
Since I cannot boot into any ROM and I haven't got a zip file with my ROM on my Internal Storage, what do I have to do to install a ROM back onto my transformer. It seems that unless I boot into the ROM itself (which by the looks of things has been wiped) I cannot access the internal memory storage.
Please help. How do I fix this and make it running again?
I have a very similar issue. I can boot to the ROM but there doesn't seem to be a launcher so throws up a load of errors.
Essentially I cannot access any external memory in the ROM or recovery so need the same instructions.
Cheers

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012 Follow the instructions in this thread. This will completely wipe your device and bring it back to stock no matter what SBK version of TF you have. You can then also choose to install a custom recovery as well as root it all from right here. Then you can install a custom rom back on. I also recommend using a recovery that uses the internal storage or external as it is much safer. You can always take out the SD, put a rom on it, replace it and boot into recovery. Much easier than using Easy Flash.
I cleaned my tablet tf300, to install a newer and different rom, now i can't get twrp to see my microsd card to install the rom, how can i get the rom file to my internal sd card to proceed, as i can't get adb to work either, i've no idea how to copy the files to internal to get going again.
Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure the SD card is mounted in the "Mounts" section of TWRP.
I did that but it won't stay in that mode, keeps on reverting to internal.

Did you try unmounting the internal, then mounting external?
I have zero luck in getting it to stay on external SD, I've tried to unmount the internal and then mount the ext sd, so I am stuck. I don,t even see USB mode when I hold volume down and power, the only option is recovery Android and wipe data, so I don't seem to be able to get the zipped rom i want to install copied where I can use it.

Thats how the new bootloader works, fastboot protocol is enabled the second you boot to that menu. So make sure you are on the patched 2.4.4.0 recovery.
I've downloaded a patched version of the twrp 2.4.4.0, but i can't access usb function to use fastboot or any other method to get the patched file to my internal storage on the tablet. Any ideas as how to transfer the needed file? Hope it's not bricked beyond repair. Plus my pc fails to install device driver, i am stuck at the starting screen that says "the device is unlocked" and asus logo.
Hi I'm a little bit confused and lost between stock recovery, cwm, rom manager and my new SD card.
I browsed 100s of threads and watch alot of good and some not so good videos but 'im still not sure what my best next moves are and why some things dont work.
I have a
Sansung GT i9300
Anroid 4.1.2
Baseband I900XXEMC2
Kernel 3.0.31-1032335 [email protected]#1SMP PEEMPT Mon March11 ..KST 2013
Build JZO54K.I9300XXEMC2
I wanted to use apps like Titanium BackUpPro and Avast so I rooted my phone flashing CWM v3.55 via Odin and have been using it with out any problems for a while.
Then I decided that I would like to flash a custom rom like cm and I downloaded Rom Manager thinking it to be the right tool... ?
I let Rom Manager flash the latest version of CWM recovery 6.0.4.6 ...
but when I look on the apps on my phone I find CWM v3.55-Chainfire ? and
if I try to update I get directed to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
When booting in rcovery mode my phone enters the android system recovery e3 and I get an Error message:
E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument)
What exactly does this mean ???
Should I try flashing CWM 6 non toutch via Odin or flash back stock ROM?
I thought I would try backing up to an ext SD card so I orderd a SanDisc mircosd 64GB card but the problem still remains.
I still cant back up my ROM using ROM Manager or CWM
Why ? What happend?
I tried formating the SD card with ROM Magager but SD card fails to load. I tried formating with gparted fat32. Still wont load...
The ext SD card shows up in the file exlporer on my phone just fine but
I can't seem to be able to get Rom Manager to recognize it and CWM recovery isn't working.
So instead of backin up my exsiting ROM to the SD card maybe it would be a better idea to install CWM and CM to the SD card
and keep my ROM on the internal SD as it is???
I tried creating a bootable ext sd card with CWM and CM like here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_acclaim
but when it comes to booting the phone in recovery mode I still get the E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument) message....?
How do I boot from ext sd card?
Whats my next best move?
I have a working rooted ROM on my local SD card with all my apps backed up in clowd. But my recovery mode issue remains to be resolved.
and I have a 64GB ext SD card with CWM and CM on it but I can't install with Rom Manager? because SD card fails to load.
Thanks for trying to follow so far!!!!

First option:
1- Download Philz recovery from: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.07.9-i9300.tar.md5
and flash it with odin 3.07or newer
2- Downlad SuperSu root from: http://vk.com/doc167892454_171297436?hash=877f29ccdb4e944a70&dl=28aabb49a7217e1962, copy to your device, go to recovery mode and do 'install zip from...'
Second option:
1- Download CF-Auto Root from http://download.chainfire.eu/229/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip, extract and flash it with odin (that should enable root permissions in your device).
2- Download CWM Manager from PlayStore and do a flash, or better- flash the Philz recovery as above (you don't neet the root file)
Follow the Odin packages instructions...?

Yep, follow it,
And yes- both backup and exSD use (called sdCard0 in the recovery), here's the developer's thread & guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860
Easy way to flash CWM or Touch wiz is to download EZ-Recovery from the play store, open the app scroll to recovery, click recovery and choose which one you want and click flash. Done. I personally like TW.

Hello there,
I was in the middle of installing recovery, root and a custom ROM on my SM-T210 (Galaxy Tab 3 7"), when the title happened. I don't think the issue is device related though, so that's why I'm posting here.
I have StockRom Kitkat Version 1.7 (not the stock rom, that's just what it's called) installed at the moment, but I didn't like it so I wanted to go for Supernova (2.1) and flash that. This would've worked if TWRP didn't suddenly stop being able to see my files in internal storage...
My device isn't encrypted so that's not the issue. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
Hello,
Make sure you are mounting system and data
Make sure zip files type is selected and not IMG files
Try moving to SD card and try to see if it's there if you have one
Reflash twrp -make sure it's the latest twrp-
Then boot into it, flash rom

Thank you very much sir, using an SD card did it for me! TWRP was already the newest one I could use so that wasn't an option, the other 2 tips I also already tried.
