Clarivue hd glass on sale, $30 - Nexus 4 Accessories

On Sale, seems to be their regular price will be $50 in a while.
Anyone know the reliability of this company? I'm tempted to go with Xgear simply because they're more well known, even though Clarivue's product seems to be better (.1 mm thinner and 1 level higher hardness rating).
(Can't post links b/c I'm a noob.)

Oh it's temping to buy

Frankly, I call bull on this! Ain't no way it's 9H! I have absolutely no proof, but I simply don't believe it.
IMHO, what Clarivue's has going for it over XGear is that it'll be available ~1 month sooner.

Yup, this is why I'm asking for the reliability of the company. Is it a legit company or some scam?
(I'm a relative noob to the smartphone world, please forgive any ignorance.)

Clairvue is a 100% legit company.

Okay, so it's not a scam. I'll buy and post a review when it gets here. (Not sure how to do those but w/e I'll try.)

Am I missing something? Seems kinda expensive..

Clarivue is pretty known in the screen protector industry.

yeah but a glass screen protector on a curved screen is going to be crap.
It's going to be something like this:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.1.BqoZYa&id=16794485007
look at the pics, you can clearly see the gap between the screen protector and the nexus 4 glass at the edge where it curves. Otherwise they have to make it smaller and have it looks really obvious that there is a protector there.

Do they not offer same warranty they do for their film protectors? i.e. hassle free exchange policy etc?

Doesn't Sapphire Crystal have a hardness of 9H?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2

that is super cool! just watched the installation video on their website.
so tempting..i don't want to be a guinea pig..but the 'early adopter' price of $30 is very tempting.
this is sometihng you almost need to see and feel in person before pulling the trigger.

Anybody having any issues using their coupon code 'glass' ?
I get an invalid coupon code error.
After using a GLASt screen protector on my old phone this is a must have for me.

That is because the 25% is applied at checkout automatically. In cart at checkout it will be 29.99 not 39.99.

It's a different hardness scale. It's based off of the hardness of graphite, for instance a number 2 pencil has a hardness of 2H. So, they are saying that graphite with a hardness of 8H will not scratch the glass, but one with a hardness of 9H will.

I haven't looked it up, don't know offhand, but let's say you're right. If that's the case, then your large, single sapphire crystal screen protector will likely be costing ~$200,000. Not $30. This is just tempered glass, not sapphire.
Again, I call bull. But I have no proof. I'd believe 8H at most.

I don't use screen protectors, plus I don't think they are really needed with gorilla glass 2.
Thanks, I ordered one. Now this means I HAVE to buy a Nexus 4!!
Thanks for the heads up! Just ordered mine and, with shipping, it brought the total to $10.88, saving me over $5.
Thanks for the heads up!

Seems like this might be a good idea to get to be extra sure and maybe provide a slight extra layer of protection to the glass panel on the back.

Still waiting for Clarivue/Steinheil offerings, as I prefer dry-application protectors with a harder surface.
Wait, it looks to me as if the screen is curved the same way as the Optimus 2x... Doesn't this mean that screen protectors won't cover the entire screen?
Yea I'm gonna get a screen protector an hard case, anyone know when they will be out?

Screen protector - oil resistant and no scratch due to stylus usage - which one?

I have read through tons of the threads regarding the screen protector for the Note 8.0, and I haven't found one yet that meets what I want:
1). Oil resistant: the naked screen is REALLY good is resisting oil from my hands.
2). Won't scratch due to stylus use: I bought the Note for the Stylus and I use it extensively. Some screen protector I read got scratched with the stylus.
So if you have a screen protector, can you tell me your experiences?
This is what I learnt so far:
No plan to make one for Note 8.0
SGP Steinhell
XGear
Have bad oil resistant capability
iSmooth: more oil accumulate on the screen?

Know what you mean. I shy away from buying directly from China whenever possible mainly due to the incredibly slow delivery times. I took a chance on this and while I've not gotten it yet the communication from the seller has been pretty good! I inquired why the tracking wasn't showing and he investigated and replied twice in 24 hours. (Granted I "did mention" I was awaiting the item for an XDA review....)
Using a credit card usually protects one but the long delivery wait can be extremely annoying.
I had never ordered from them before and as it says in my thread, I was slightly concerned, but it came quicker than stated and is a really good product, no problems with the seller or the protector at all.

I have the TechArmor anti-fingerprint anti glare protector and it's great! Doesn't pick up oils, stylus works (and I like that it has a very slight texture to it giving a little feedback) and the anti-glare world's great! I have never been unhappy with Tech Armor... used it on 5 or 6 devices now. ..

Not sure if you ever got your answer from them but it does list Oleo phobic coating in the item description
Tempered Glass provides your device with the best surface protection without sacrificing the responsiveness of touchscreen. Despite its slim 0.4 mm glass base thickness, this transparent tempered glass is nearly impossible to scratch or penetrate thanks to its rating of 8-9H hardness, while its oleophobic coating offers resistance against smudges and fingerprints.

I think it was a price mistake from Amazon. I also thought it was a fake one sold by a reseller, so I checked the "My Order" page in Amazon and it shows $8 and "Sold by Amazon".
I'll update when I received the item today.
I got the Green Onion Oleophobic screen today (the $8 one) and I can tell you it is a GREAT screen protector.
It's quite easy to install and it comes with a LARGE dust cleaner screen to help with the installation. Aligning this big screen protector is a b*tch though. I still got a small bubble on the right side, but it's not evident since my Note 8.0 is white.
The screen protector feel very solid and smooth. It has the coating, as you can feel it when you run your finger on it. I like it more because writing with my stylus feel better and not too smooth, just enough for me.
I highly recommend this, though you may want to wait for the price to come down to $8.
UPDATE: This thing is a dust magnet!
Just stumbled upon this on eBay from a US Seller. Quite probably would have sprung for this instead of playing the waiting game to receive virtually the same product from mainland China. It's also listed about 8 bucks cheaper.
A real viable alternative IMHO.
Anyone noticed that the Note 8 comes with a preinstalled screen protector?!
I just noticed when I was peeling off all the tiny protection plastics like on the home button and camera lens that there was also something on the screen just to find out it was a screen protector
Nice!

I just bought a tempered glass screen protector for $6. Looks pretty decent. use code 90OFF1 at check out http://www.xtremeguard.com/Motorola-Moto-X-2014-Screen-Protectors-p/motx2014xgrds.htm
I also saw this deal. I bought all 3 screen protectors for a little over $7 shipped. Even if they are not that good, it's still worth a shot. The tempered glass one is regularly $60. Crazy.

There is no indication in the description. of it being curved. I gave it a try and hopefully it's good.
90% off?
PRO LIFE TIP: If a company regularly discounts a product by 90% off the listed retail price (Google-search "xtremeguard 90%"), then the actual value of the product is 10% of the listed retail price.
It may be a fine $6 screen guard, and I'm actually going to buy one, so I'm not being critical of the product. But it is a $6 product--not a $60 product.

I got a full body protector from them with this sale. It came in yesterday. The protector for the back of the phone does not have a cut out for the dimple, so that makes it a no-go. I also got a screen protector since they were pretty much free. I haven't put it on yet, but I am hesitant just because I like the "swipability" of this virtual no edge phone.
Mine is still in the "Processing" stage . ordered on the 7th, so I'm pretty confused
I received my order yesterday. I didn't put anything on yet as my order was screwed up. I order 1 regular screen, 1 HD screen and 1 tempered. I received 2 regular, 1 HD and a tempered for the 2013 X
I emailed the company and am awaiting a response before I apply anything.

Has anyone heard or spotted any yet? I hate using my tech without some sort of guard on the screen.
Maybe the awesome people over at @intelliARMOR have plans to support it?
I'd like to know this as well, as taking the keyboard away from the screen seems to have some jeopardy involved each time!

I'm interested as to why you would cover the camera with the glass?
The other glass screen protectors I have for my Xperias all have the camera uncovered.
Also, would the glass in any way stop the keyboard charging or cause there to be contact between the tablet and the protector when the glass is installed?
For me i prefer the camera to be covered just to void from dust, i also wondering will it be interfere charging from tablet to keyboard , what im worried just the magnet not strong enough to hold once u put tempered glass on it @intelliARMOR

@intelliARMOR I am probably going to be picking up one of your screen protectors, but I was wondering if you could provide some insight into your oleophobic coating. Every tempered screen protector I have tried for my various devices has claimed to have an oleophobic coating, but fingerprints stick to them like there is no tomorrow. Can you speak on your process as compared to other manufacturers of tempered glass screens? I want to buy one, but I'd hate to waste my money if it is going to have the same "coating" as all the others out there.

Are the cutouts actual holes, or clear glass? I've had proximity sensor issues in the past, and am concerned about that an issues for the radar sensors.
Ordered one for the XL. Hopefully it is as good as your old school flat screen phone models.
So the tempered glass you're making are going to only be like the picture above? I'm not a fan of tempered glass where is just sticky around the edges. Are you making regular ones too?

So the tempered glass you're making are going to only be like the picture above? I'm not a fan of tempered glass where is just sticky around the edges. Are you making regular ones too?

Yes, our glass is full adhesive. We are not fans of the ones with sticky around the edges either.
If it's full glass adhesion, why the black trim?

The black trim is 3D molded to accommodate the Pixel's curved screen. The full adhesion gives superior performance and feel over models without.
Thanks!
Do you have a retailer in Europe?
okay, ordered, what the hey-..
I've learned the hard way.. gotta protect the screen asap.
I had an intelliglass on my pixel Xl. .that was fine..
but curved edges was a disaster on the pixel 2xl..
lets see what the pixel 4 xl is like.. (totally skipped pixel 3.. i was notchblocked)
been a fan since nexus 6p days. Will you be making a blue light version? also way some other company have a installation tray for align not sure how useful one would be to have precise install.
Looking forward to getting on my pixel 4 xl when i order!

We have some distribution in Europe, but no retailer in the UK yet. If you can tell us the retailer you'd prefer we can work on getting them setup.
This is stellar. Actual interaction with a product distributor, rather than just ordering something, hoping it works out and if it doesn't, moving on to the next protector without actually having any realtime knowledge of the product ? I got burned so many times with OP protectors, this is quite appealing. Think I'm gonna grab a couple friday, along with the spigen crystal clear case. That will be a killer setup. It will be...oh so badass ?

You bet! That's one of the reasons we love XDA, we can speak directly to our customers. Also, we have a satisfaction guarantee, so if you are not happy with any of our products you can just let us know and we'll take care of you. :good:
