True,Anyone curious why NO other smart phone company made a gaming smartphone device embedded with a gamepad???...i mean they have done EVERY KIND OF PHONE!! why leave us to hang on touch screens???...

Probably because of Sony patents and technical difficulties (slide part, hard to make something that can resist time and not copy the play system).
Also I worked in a phone shop and they didn't sell well: when a male customer was interested, his girlfriend was pretty quick to say: " What? Are you a child?"

ANDROID MARKET LINK
With very low expectations, I booted up this latest release from Gameloft, expecting a complete mess. To my suprise, its a half decent brawler, that also works with the Xperia Play controls! D-Pad only, and there doesn't seem to be a way to hide the touch screen controls.
Looks like a Genesis game. What is the gameplay like? Is the game based on something, sounds like a terrible film name lol
Seen the film ,that link doesn't work forme and I cannot find it on the market or gameloft site.

looks much like God of War for Java.. oh god, what's with gameloft these days?
seems like gameloft published the game but they did not make it
looks pretty bad. I won't play this game. I bought a play to play games with decent graphics and gameplay. not to play with this kind of junk to throw away some $$$

I would actually prefer the Java version of God of War, it was more fun than this!

I thought so too, but the Relativity is the name of the film studio that made the movie.
will ask gameloft to confirm hehe lol
yeah God Of War java version seems a lot better than this but hey atleast gameloft makes new games for android. wish modern combat 3 was out and gangstar rio too
Hmm maybe ill try it to see myself if its a lame ripoff..
Now im playing Gears of War 3 for android
SHADOWGUN
and it rocks!

Generation of Chaos released! ...and with that Android is now ultimate for J-SRPGs.

So if you're real into niche rpgs, you might've heard of Generation of Chaos. A real hit in Japan because its does a superb job of mixing war, simulation and strategy RPG in a way we haven't seen since Dragon Force (not the hella repetitive band, the awesome Sega Saturn game)...and if you're really into niche RPGs, you likely also heard this getting slammed on PSP... not because it was a bad game, but because PSP had trouble handling it properly... leading to loads of performance/loading issues.
Anyway, the same team that brought Spectral Souls from unplayable on PSP to perfection on Android have done it again! Generation of chaos is now on Android! If it's anything like Spectral Souls, I would lent be surprised to find that every issue of the PSP version is now gone.

This is definitely a cut above most - it's a game that's easily ready to compete on a console level, so its no surprise that this game is pricey... near fifteen dollars! ... sweet Jesus.
GENERATION OF CHAOS on the Android Market
Very worth it though IMO.
...and its Xperia PLAY optimized, of course
1.8gb data download o.o

I bought the Japanese version. The difference with Spectral Souls is that most if not all dialogue is voiced in GOC4, especially in cutscenes. The English version probably has English voice acting, so I suppose that's contributing to the huge game data.
Har, har. 10 Euro again... I admit I've splashed that kind of cash in romance novels in the past without giving it a thought, but now (probably therefore) I can't really buy that.
No way should Android games be that expensive
I like the graphics. It looks like ShadowGun.

Its only a matter of time before all of the "A" level titles are. We are lucky right now getting all these freebies (like the EA Games) through Sony trying to push this device out to the market. It won't last forever...
I would bet in a couple years both iOS and Android market are going to see more A level games, in the $10 plus range.

It's not a problem as long as we get value out of them. Quality stories, good voice acting and intricate gameplay need to be paid for.
I just bought Spectral Souls recently... I definitely don't have the cash or time for this with a megaton of PC & Android games to play...
Maybe later on, I'll have to buy this, too.

Dead Strike, Mike V Skateboard Party HD and more kart racer lovin' coming to SEXplay?

So, quite often, I sift through loads of Android games and find something that's just begging to be broke free of the constraints of "touch screen ghetto" gaming, and I'll sometimes drop the dev a line to see if they're open for the idea of Xperia PLAY Optimizing their game, and questioned developers about the following three games to get the following responses:
Dead Strike

Q: "I remember playing this game on my old iPhone! So glad to see its come to android! Any chance it'll be Xperia PLAY optimized?"
A: "Yeah I've been getting a lot of emails asking me this , it will be in the works very soon"
Mike V: Skateboard Party HD
Q: "Any chance this will support Xperia PLAY physical controls?"
A: "Yes, Xperia PLAY support is currently in progress. We are expecting it to be ready by the end of the month approx."
Tiki Kart 3D
Q: "This is running quite smooth on Xperia PLAY, but is there any chance that this game will ever use Xperia PLAY's physical controller?"
A: "were talking to them now about it "
I like the zombie games we have now, but none of them feel as fast-paced and "horde"-like as Dead Strike. Always loved skating games, and there's never a such thing as too many well-done kart games. I won't say anything's concrete until we have the final products playable, but sometimes it pays to ask developers things

Boom! One down, two to go.
This is good, especially since PAC-MAN Kart Rally is our only other kart racer (which has extremely awkward handling, btw... and there's that whole thing where it's only really available to Verizon users). This one's controls are decent, even if it didn't cover menu control. What I'm really anticipating though is that Mike V Skateboarding game's Xperia PLAY Optimization.

Loco Roco Midnight Carnival, only half the game?

Hello everyone, let me first say that I searched the forums and couldn't find any evidence of this being stated so I felt it was appropriate to post a new thread but if any mods feel otherwise please remove as I'm still new and learning. I managed to get a hold of Loco Roco MC the other week and I've been having an absolute blast with it; I had never before played a Loco Roco game since I never owned a PSP. The game really kicked my ass around and finally I looked up a video playthrough of the level that was giving me trouble, level 8. It turns out that this is not level 8 but rather something like 12. Weird. Well I managed to beat it and then there's no more ****ing levels! Am I missing something? Is there a trick to get them to appear or is this only half of the game? I also noticed some of the graphics were toned down and the performance wasn't as hot as it should have been given that it was an exclusive.
I downloaded that game today morning for try it and know what are you talking about, when the download was ok i opened the game and "ok, that's ok... Very funny music and customs" but pressed start and "WHAT T......F...K!!! IT'S ALL ON JAPANESSE!!! I can't understand anything and just for it i'm stock in level 1. Is there another version on english??? Ah??!!
Only Japanese, it was never released out of Japan
Yes, it is Japanese but most games have similar menu setups and dynamics, figuring out what does what was as simple as clicking X (or L+R ). I'd highly recommend you guys give it a try if all that's scaring you off is the Japanese language format. Still really sad I only get to play eight levels because I was getting really in to the game and could have sworn it wasn't marketed that way
There are more levels when you press triangle. I think you have to unlock them.
See this map square is a level, and so is that paint one?

For some reason the paint one just takes me to a little video of those bouncy red guys talking and then shows me a picture with an X in it so I guess I have to do more before I can play the (from what I've read) minigame. The other level is a little bonus level/tutorial but beyond that there are supposed to be 8 more levels in the main game. Unless I just need to unlock them, I wish we had someone who speaks Japanese or played the PSP version here
You were right guys!! 1 1/2 day took me to learn how to play this game and yes, it's very very funny!!
100% recomended :-D
Is it on Google Play? Or have you guys got it 'elsewhere'

Actually this can be bought on the Japanese PS Store on the device. Through a special offer (or something; can't remember) you can get it for free.
How can you access the Japanese Playstation store?

Game works fully in menus and ingame with Xperia play controls. Does not show in launcher
DOWNLOAD GOOGLE PLAY
Up = Nitro
Down = Brake
Left/Right = Turn
Cross = Shield/Enter or Start in menus
Circle = Pause/back in menus
Fire = done in game automatically when get lock on enemy's.
Don't think Xperia Play was in mined when herocraft made this, but for some reason the game knows to turn off accelerometer as not needed (this only happens on Xperia Play as not the same case with our Tabs + HID controller which accelerometer is still on).
Good find Poo-tang. Looks like a good wipeout type game.
In that video the sound effects remind me of the first extreme-G game, which is one of my faves so thanks
60FPS? Worth buying if I already have TurboFly HD?
Nice, good to know, can never have too many Wipeout clones. I wasn't gonna get this one since I just got Flashout 3D, but sounds like this is much better for our Plays.
I love wipeout, so is dis better than flashout 3D?

Both have good and bad points. I must admit Flashout looks slightly better graphical wise but let down by the music and lack of controls, it is a full on wipeout clone mostly straight line racing.
This however has slightly better music (more like what it's cloning) controls (fully working hardware support) but is really a mix of Wipeout, Extreme-G and F-Zero, straight line racing but with a big part being shooter/dogfighting.
Both games could do with more work as neither run as fast as turbofly but as both are only first releases their is scope for improvement down the line.
If people want a Wipeout clone I would just recommend the original which is still available for purchase here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sony.playstation.NCEA00010_0
If want something new try these clones out but take them on their own merits as they (and others) can't be compared or come close to the classic.
