Hi All,
I was hoping to find a solution to fix the Touchscreen issue on Motorola Droid 2 Global. It was working perfectly fine until i installed Task Killer App from PlayStore and suddenly the touchscreen went haywire and it started opening Menu and Apps on its own. In addition, the capacitive "Back" button stopped working. I did a factory reset and uninstalled all 3rd party apps however the issue still persist.
Can someone please help me on how to fix this issue
most changes made rooted, can not be fixed with factory data reset
you have to flash .sbf factory restore image
try
ezSBF & Root 2.3.4/ 4.5.629

if phone was not rooted, factory reset should have worked
but you can still try flashing .sbf

hey guys, my phone was working fine overnight with ICUP-speedy2. i checked my messages, left it alone then went back to it after breakfast and i saw that all these processes were stopped.
so i powered off the phone to reboot and i'm stuck on the bootscreen (aka google nexus square animation)
i'm able to get into recovery. i tried fixing permissions and wiping the dalvik and cache. i tried uploading the kernel again. still no go.
any help? i really do not want to do a factory reset and lose data. i forgot to do an nandroid backup.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
also, my superuser is up to date with the ICS binaries and i'm currently running CMW 5.0.2 with the install-recovery.sh renamed.
i bit the bullet.
i wiped data and just did a factory reset. all is well in the world again.

This has been happening to me on various roms and kernels. As soon as I get a working combo, I back it up.

You know you could have made a nandroid after messing it up, then wiped your data and manually restored some of your settings? CWM Recovery only tar's files and makes a MD5 hash check. A copy/paste is nearly as effective.
The same thing just happened to me as well. I'm using Speedy 3 by eugene. I received a text messaged then my phone rebooted randomly, after that all the apps had a bunch of errors when the phone loaded. After rebooting it cycled the boot animation over and over again. Is there anyway to recover from this state?

How do I do that if I don't have the rom zip on my phone anymore? I do have a restore of the stock rom that came with the phone, but would that conflict with the current kernel? I'm seeing there are ways to use the shell once in recovery, but I do not know all the commands, as to sending the zip.

I downloaded adb shell, trying to figure out how to push the rom to the device. any commands would be helpful.

Hello, I've been on CM 11 nightlies for the past few months and everything has been great but the last few days I'd had a little "R" above my signal status and it's been cuttting in and out. So I tried the *228 and it went through a programming sequence and finished. This seemed to change nothing so I returned to stock and fully updated. I now have no "R" over my signal status but I can no longer get 4G. I tried switching network mode, and disabling and reenabling moblile data. Please help

*228 is not used on 4g phones.
How did you restore to stock?
A data wipe before rsd, from recovery ensures a clean modem.
See my sigi, my restore & ...4g link.

I used the Droid Razr HD Utility 1.34 to restore factory restore and then ran it to flash 4.1.2 Stock System, Kernel, and Radio (Data Wipe). This still did not give me 4G service.

You must not have not wiped data 1st.
Or left out a partition.
Do all steps.

I tried wiping data through the stock recovery and then chose option 1 on the droid utility 1.34 again to flash stock ROM, radio and data wipe again. I still cannot get 4G. I also tried to see if I could go through RSD and flash a stock xml file but every time I tried it failed and came up with a "getvar" error. I then tried to delete the lines in the xml file that had "getvar" in it as some suggested but this did not work either. It just came up with an additional error. I was looking at another post that said I may have screwed up my SIM card by dialing *228, so I called Verizon and have them sending me another SD card. Hopefully this fixes it.
Everything starts crashing as soon as i boot the tab, google search app first then dialer then exchange services and then the ui and then it reboots. It has been doing this since 4 hours now, i made a few dirty flashes of the same rom but no use. I also reflashed Gapps. I dont have any backup of my data so i dont wanna run a factory reset. Can someone help me :crying:
Try reflash with all the wipes without resetting data, it may do the trick. Always nandroid before Nightlies, they can mess things up sometimes. When you nightly your volunteering your tab as a guinea pig.

You may need to do a full/reset wipe in order to fix it.

Hey all. I need your help.
I have a nexus 5 that is unrooted and runs KitKat 4.4.4.
I recently decided to switch from dalvik to ART (what was I thinking?) and now my phone won't let me get any further than the following two errors:
1. Unfortunately, nfc service has stopped.
2. Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped.
How do I get back to dalvik or get my phone working properly again? (Preferably without having to reset my phone and losing all my data.)
Thanks.
switch it back to dalvik via the developer settings

or.. you can unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery, so you can flash a file to convert your phone to dalvik from art.
Device: OnePlus One Sandstone Black 64 GB
This phone only has factory installed software and has been updated after automatically receiving software update prompts on the phone.
On 28th April, 2016 a software update popped up on my OPO. I installed it and started using it. My 4G/LTE internet from T--mobile was NOT working, so I thought of a reboot. After a reboot, I'm not able to get past the phone LOCK. When I swipe the screen to unlock my phone, the screen dims and the phone is useless. What are the options to fix this? I've imp data inside the phone.
Is there a way to go back to the state before the update. I've found lot of stuff on the internet that has overwhelming info. I'm afraid to follow most of them because of the fear of losing data.
Same here.
Wipping data is not working aswell.
Dunno what to do.

Hi @ironhydeq.
So, i own an OPO, stock, running COS 13 ( received update a few days ago). No ROOT, no Bootloader unlocked.
Today, early in the morning (My local time) I restarted my OPO because my Google Fit was not able to record my activity. After the reboot, i tried to unlock my phone, but it got STUCK. Freeze if you will.
I tried from Cyanogen Recovery to Wipe Cache, it did not worked.
I tried from Cyanogen Recovery to Wipe Data, it did not worked.
i do not the reason for wipping not working but i was scared. Because whenever a tried to boot into system, I was stuck at lockscreen
I tried to perform a wipe from adb, but adb shell was printing a "error closed". So i got scared .
I thought that i could fix my issue by performing a Wipe...
I Download the OPO toolkit. Put my device into fastboot, and unlocked my bootloader ( yes i void my warranty). After that, the toolkit installed the TWRP ( Custom Recovery ) with just one click.
Then i boot into recovery and perform a wipe. Phone was no longer stuck at lockscreen (actually i lost all data)
After that, my phone has been working great. (more than 12 hours from the issue)
Good luck mate.!
