[Q] Futuristic/Sci Fi Ringtones - General Questions and Answers

I am looking for quality futuristic and/or sci-fi sound effects and ringtones from movies like Minority Report, I Robot, the new Star Trek....movies of that sort. If you know where I can find sound effects like this, please point me in the right direction. .....and just an FYI, I've already tried Zedge and had no luck. They have too much "music" and other garbage to be able to find anything useful and of quality as far as what I'm looking for.
Thank you, in advance for any leads.

I'm just tired of music ringtones and all the other "usual" stuff.

Take movie file, make into audio only, cut audio you want - prophet ?

I thought of that, but the problem is that you don't ever get a good clean sample of ONLY the sound you want.which makes for a very poor quality "ringtone" that sounds like it was recorded from a movie scene. .....not what I'm going for.

Depends on the source, I guess. It's not hard to use music from times in movies where it's just he music playing - and it's easy to isolate something like "phaser fire" or "light saber", et cetera.
You could just also search for a specific thing and see of someone has already done it.

[Q] Any programs for Android that do Screencasting?

Have a few questions about Screencasting, and I really couldn't find a definitive answer, so I knew this was the best place to ask...
I review Android Games & Apps for a site, and normally when I need a video I'll just youtube link it. I try to find Indie games, and review things a lot of folks might miss and unfortunately you can't always find a video available.
I know there's a modded version of Shootme! floating around, and it worked well but the quality wasn't really that great for some games I tried it on another big drawback was the lack of sound. Are there any other programs to try, or another way to go about it? Anything that does sound out there?
I've seen some very professional looking videos with audio and flawless video playback by some of the big dev companies so I know it can be done, just not sure how to do it. I know I could record the gameplay with a video camera like a lot of people do, but I'd prefer to keep my fingers out of the picture and literally just do a screencast with audio.
It might not be feasible, but I thought I would ask as it's been bugging me for awhile now. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

AFAIK: for anything above 10 fps framerate, you probably need another solution like a video (HD) capture card + an Android device with (m)HDMI-out.

Best Music Player (IMO)

Just a heads up! I found a really sweet music player that plays any file music file type that I throw at it! It's called DeaDBeef Player. Get it here. You'll also have to install the free plugins pack, which is here. I do a lot with music and what not, and this is the only player that I found that will play wavs; including 24 bit wavs! It's a little ugly, but VERY functional--I may try to theme it.
Does it have lockscreen controls?

I dunno about lockscreen controls--I don't use 'em--but I know it has a 10-band EQ with a preamp control. Also, the free version has no limited functionality, just that it has ads and the pro does not.
Can you defeat the equalizer/tone controls? (Not just "zero" them, but remove them entirely from the path)

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but here's what you get in the EQ: 10 bands and 1 preamp (each with their own slider), levels from -20db - +20db, on and off button, presets button, and an "all zero" button. Hopefully that answered your question.
I believe Jeff is asking if you can "bypass" the software EQ and the associated sound degradation that a software EQ introduces. Please correct me if I'm wrong Jeff.

That's correct. The better your headphones/IEMs get, the more you hear the kind of distortion introduced by most EQ software.
It looks like it has an "on/off" for the EQ which should hopefully pull it out of the signal path.
Sorry guys! For some reason I didn't get any new post notifications by email... but yeah, the on/off button acts as the "defeat" in regards to EQ. I also found out that this is using the same audio engine as the Linux version (link).
Says the Android version is very different but than try for sharing I will try it out

I tried it out and it doesn't have the lock screen or a status bar control. Sorry, gotta find something else.
Yeah... it's more for audiophiles than your average mp3 user. It will play anything...

There are hndreds of apps in the Playstore, most of them free. Go to playstore and search for Sound Recorder. Download 3 or 4 with high ratings and keep the one you like best.
no u didnt got it, i dont want to rec from the mic but direct from the tablet "audio out"
to put it simple,i wanna rec the audio the tablet makes' but not from the microphone through speakers, just direct from "inside" to avoid ambient sounds.
i didnt found any app capable of doing that (about 4-5 i tried)

+1 for the vote
Would recording from the head phone socket solve it?
If not I am sure I saw on youtube someone demonstrating a audio/video out kit.

Sound/Audio studio software
There are a few apps on the play store . That are meant for recording and mixing sounds. These are what you want.. Maybe search for Audio Audio mixer... The term to what you looking for is Internal Mixer . Sound Blaster made up the term What you Hear as being easier for people to understand.. One of the ring tone creation apps could do this as well...
Good Luck .. Sound/Audio Mixer app is what you need

Thanks for the answer , i saw that Portugal isn't on the list of country's that can use Paypal to buy apps on Google Play, but i also saw that i still need a credit card or bank account for this Paypal and i just said that i Don't Have a Credit Card 'the same as saying, i don't use Bank money yet and i don't have it'. The only way for me was to buy apps with the money of my SIM Card, if there isn't a way to do that then i have no choice but to go to free software . Why i don't have bank accounts? Still got no job 'never had', so not needing the use of an account for now'.
Well i guess it's a impossible request for now =/, i wanted it more to not need to buy new phone because if i at least liked to hear music on my phone 'a Xperia Mini Pro x10' then i would be happy with it because hearing Music is the best part for me on a phone and it's what i most do with it after the Sending of Sms of course xD, but if i got no reasons to like the phone then oh well it's what i have =S, and i'm lucky to have a phone like this of course i know that, but it's also true that human beings always want better as time passes by.
Cheers.

Thanks for the answer. Yes it's a good player but it's also a paid one that i can't aford because of what i said about not having credit card, only way was to buy by Sim Card money. Volume limiter is just another app to up and down the normal volume of the phone, it's not a limiter to avoid Distortion on playing music, the goal is to hear music as loud as i can but without distortion, that's why i need the limiter.
Cheers

I had tried it as well but that doesn't have the Limiter in it :S. Volume limiter e lock is a different thing, it's to Save The volume settings that you want and won't permit you to change those values, this is in case you accidentally switch volumes of your alarm etc...
Maybe i didn't explain correctly what i want xD, i'll try to explain more detailed:
For example, you know that there are songs that have more volume than others, the same will keep happening even if you put an Equalizer because it affects all songs, so if you use the Equalizer for the Low volume songs to be higher then that will make the High volume songs Distort for sure. Example: Song 1 has 94db and Song 2 has 99db, i use equalizer to gain 6db, so now Song 1 has 100db and Song 2 has 105db, what will happen? that's wright, Song 1 is on the limit without distorting '100db' but Song 2 is Distorting Way Big '105db'.
So the only way to prevent that distortion from happening is...with the (Limiter), that will make Song 2 reduce to 100db avoiding it's distortion.
Examples of that is Gonemad Player, Poweramp, Playerpro and RocketPlayer, the catch? All of them are 'paid'
That's why i'm asking help to see if there's a free alternative, or if it's possible to pay the apps with money from my Sim Card.
Cheers

I have yes to thank you for helping me find a solution , good luck , i searched everywhere for days but without any luck , i remind you that my rom is a GB Rom 2.3.7 for a 600mhz device named Xperia Mini Pro x10 and that makes the job more difficult :S

Well, i think you should start considering to buy a new device. At least a JellyBean 4.1 will do. It's worth buying rather than paying an app to achieve your wishes.

If it wasn't for the part of wasting so much money on a device 'specially not having a job or credit card, with almost no money left' that would be my first option. But i can't afford one right now, so the only way is by an app. Besides...I will always need an app like this on any device because No Device has a Audio Limiter xD.
Solved!

Hey mates, thanks for the help . Viper4android really was the solution after all , but it can only be version 2207 because other versions will do awkward restarts to my phone, this version is stable and has everything 'limiter, reverb, stereo widening, output gain' very good indeed , only thing is that i can't use convolver because that will crash android system and make the same awkward restarts then so i must be careful. No need for new device now xD .
pinkLeviosa, if you're trying to find the same thing as me, then also try viper4android you will like it .
CrazeXDA, looks like you were right after all since there still was one version stable for my phone 'not available anywhere, only on 4shared, not easy to find' xD.
Thanks mates, cheers :good:

Music recording sounds very bad

Hi everyone,
It is common knowledge (I hope) that when you try to recording a video or just a simple audio file with some music (for example a song during a concert or, in my case, an audio while I play the guitar and I sing something) everything sounds very very badly! Now, my question is:
Is it a software or hardware problem?
This is important to me because I use very often my phone for these kind of things, mostly during a concert. I've tried to look for something about it but I could't find any useful answer. I hope it's a software problem and it can be fixed just changing a ROM. I'm using the phone as stock now. With no root and, of course, no custom ROM. Thank you
Wtf, completely disagree...
Em, I am a musician, and I wouldn't really agree. There's no way that recorded music is better than live music cause obviously, the live one is 100 times much more powerful.
Do you have a case on it?
(Lol, don't cover any of the mic ports with your fingers and keep people, objects out of the sound path.)
Are all the mic ports open and free of debris?
What file type are you recording in?
I wouldn't expect miracles from any smartphone for HQ sound with the built in mics. Some do fairly well.
