I did everything what user "inam ghafoor" did in his you tube video "How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 Easily (SIII, I9300)"... *I was unable to post link*
And now when i goto CMW Manager it says "This version of CWM Manager should be used with CF-CWM v1.1 or newer..."
I really have no idea what to do next

Also you dont have a i9300, thats the international version with different hardware, you have the sch-1535. Just flash this stock rooted image with odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984436 and then use ez-unlock 1.2 which you can find on xda when you search for it to unlock. Then use goomanger or ez-recovery to flash a custom recovery.

First off, what phone do you have?
To Check:
System Setting -> About phone -> Model number
If it's other than Samsung SCH-I535, then you're in the wrong forum.
If it is, Samsung SCH-I535, we can help you.
Edit:
Your location is Finland, so I'm guessing your Model number reads I9300. If so, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1563

Yes. Go to the correct forum I linked to and post there. They would be able to help you a lot better than we could. And no worries.

I was trying to make a backup of my current ROM/info before I installed a new kernel, but when I click "Backup current ROM", I get a pop up that says
Flash Clockworkmod Recovery
You must have CLockworkMOD Recovery Installed before continuing! Install the recovery through ROM Manager first.
I click Install and it asks me to confirm my phone model, but the closes thing that it offers to my phone model is the Samsung t-Mobil Galaxy S2. Is this the one I should use? Or is there another way I should be going about this?
Sorry for all the n00b questions, just want to make sure I do everything right incase I have to fix my phone. haha

Yes you must choose tmobile galaxy s2. Its the same as our phone, ours is not listed. But that is what everyone who uses rom manager does
Don't choose Motorola Startac, you're phone will explode....
As mentioned, the T-Mo Clockwork mod option is the one you want. That is, unless they have added proper Skyrocket option since the last time I flash in CWM.

I just installed the Touch Recovery from Rom Manager using the Android Market in-app purchase. Updated my CWM to 5.8.1.3, from what I gather on the website, this is the T-Mobile SGS 2 version. Works fine from what I can tell/tested.
I'm sure this has already been posted but I can't find it. If so I'm sorry and please just link me to it. I just picked up my Verizon Galaxy S3 about an hour ago. I rooted it using "RootDebugfs.bat". After rooting I installed ClockworkMod ROM manager then installed the ClockwordMod Recovery. Then I downloaded CM10 Stable using the ROM Manager and installed the CM10 Stable ROM. After the phone got done backing up my system and installing the custom ROM it rebooted to a screen saying
System software not authorized by Verizon wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help.

I worked like a charm, thank you very much for your help!
Ultimately what I am trying to accomplish is to install SlimBean ICS on my friends Froyo Galaxy. (I am a Motorola Guy)
From my understanding you need to go to Ginger first. Easy enough, use Kies.
Next I need to install CM, this is where I am getting lost. Do I need to install 7 (GB) before I can install 9 (ICS)?
How do I install CM on this device? Totally lost because there are so many extra steps.
Lastly there is install SlimBean once CM is installed which is easy enough via CWM.
First question is, are you using a Galaxy or Galaxy S 4G? They're different.
Second, skip KIES, use a one-click. Flash once, reboot, Linda, Flash with bootloaders.
Then you can move on to the fun of ICS.
Please remove the battery from the phone and verify that the model for the phone is either
SGH-T959V
or
SGH-T959W
Those are the only phones the files on this forum are meant for! Reply with the model here so we can direct you to the right forum if your friend's phone is different than the Galaxy S 4G

Always make sure you have another ROM you can flash to if the one you want doesn't work. Also make sure you have a backup

Hmmm, sorry but I'm confused. If you're on cm and you can open recovery I can only think you are still rooted (check this with root checker app) so not sure why you think you need to root. I see you tried to restore, what to? I can only suggest flashing back to a stock rom and then do the rooting process again.

It's been successfully rooted with POOT.
It has also been rooted via CWM by Area51 Here for CWM and then Here for Root! I did find some ROM development going on at Area51 as well here. Area51's CWM does not appear to play nice with any phone rooted with Poot however so it's best to install CWM from Area51 first and then use their root method.

The root method used at A51 is out-of-date, and can't be updated. Therefore, you'll continuously receive an update notification and won't be able to stop it.

Not True! All you have to do is just not install the update when it boots you into CWM. This will be fixed when they complete the ROM they're working on. I don't get update reminders after accepting the first one and just not installing it once in recovery mode at the install screen!

You might want to wait for Area51 to complete their first ROM for the phone. Currently it has an annoying update that keeps trying to install over the rooted stock OS that will break root if you install it. Of course you can just keep clicking on accept and then selecting NO when you get to the install update screen in CWM like I do, but it's an annoyance.

Did you rename the backup? If it has spaces, it will cause that error.
