I was trying to make a backup of my current ROM/info before I installed a new kernel, but when I click "Backup current ROM", I get a pop up that says
Flash Clockworkmod Recovery
You must have CLockworkMOD Recovery Installed before continuing! Install the recovery through ROM Manager first.
I click Install and it asks me to confirm my phone model, but the closes thing that it offers to my phone model is the Samsung t-Mobil Galaxy S2. Is this the one I should use? Or is there another way I should be going about this?
Sorry for all the n00b questions, just want to make sure I do everything right incase I have to fix my phone. haha
Select t-mobile.

Yes you must choose tmobile galaxy s2. Its the same as our phone, ours is not listed. But that is what everyone who uses rom manager does
Don't choose Motorola Startac, you're phone will explode....
As mentioned, the T-Mo Clockwork mod option is the one you want. That is, unless they have added proper Skyrocket option since the last time I flash in CWM.

I just installed the Touch Recovery from Rom Manager using the Android Market in-app purchase. Updated my CWM to 5.8.1.3, from what I gather on the website, this is the T-Mobile SGS 2 version. Works fine from what I can tell/tested.

double checking
Hi,
So just to double check, if I have a ATT Galaxy S2 Skyrocket that I rooted with the zergrush method I should be able to use Rom Manager Premium to push the "Clockwork Mod For T-Mobile GS2" on to the device?
Thanks,
Dave

Installing a recovery doesn't affect the rom you have installed on your phone. You can still remain stock which means your apps will all continue to work as they always have.
Hi,2 weeks ago I was trying to install custom rom on my galaxy pro GTB750 using rom manager.while I was trying to take a stock rom backup my handset got bricked.however I had a warrenty and so they fixed my set for free.they have changed the motherboard.well,I rooted my set again today.this time I am not going to try custom rom.I wish to install a zip file, where they are saying to install via clockworkmod recovery.
Should I try it? How to install cwm? Via rom manager? Last time I did not found my handset on rom manager's cwm version list. but I selected another version and they said successfully installed.
Feel free to suggest me.I am not afraid of brick my phone and you do not have to take responsibility for suggesting me.

Download goo manager and install twrp from there. Its easy and should take only a minute or two. If u are confused on how to do it, go to the TWRP thread in development.

Twrp hands down over cwm. Plus many of the hox custom ROMs require Twrp.
TWRP is the only officially supported recovery for the HOX right now. CWM is unofficial and contains some bugs last time I checked.

Well you can but rom manager can be flaky. Plus I don't believe that version supports kexec so you could end up in an unbootable state if you accidentally flash a rom that still uses the older method.

Thanks everyone but I didn't use kexecI don't believe I rooted using easy method and then unlock vis app just bought s3today
If it helps at all and if you're still trying to decide whether to use EZ-Recovery or not, I'm using Rom Manager and boots into CWM no problem. I used it to install the alpha 2 CM10 that was posted yesterday.
Yeah you'll run into serious problems if you use Rom Manager and accidently flash a kexec based rom, but if you're smart about it you should be fine.
Rom Manager kept crashing on me every time I tried to install CWM through it

The rom is Baked Blackbean and its compatible with the vzw gs3... the problem is the op simply did not unlock his bootloader. Now he needs to follow section 6 of my guide linked in sig and then unlock the bootloader with ez unlock!
This time I got everything correct now, after i got my phone rooted i installed ez unlock and ez revovery, and this time booted just fine. Thanks for all your help.
Nice, now scrap that ez recovery and install rom manager. From there you can install cwm touch recovery 6.0.1.2 which is awesome. The version in ez recovery does not support jelly bean, so be careful.

I installed the cwm 6.0.1.0, is that the one you are talking about? I installed just fine fine with it, I really would like to use the touch screen one like twrp, what do you guys think about it?
Cwm has a touch version that you can install through their rom manager app. It's the same 6.0.1.2 version. EZ recovery only has the 5. something version of cwm touch which cannot be used on jb. Download rom manager app from play store, install current cwm recovery through the app, then choose install cwm touch recovery option on bottom, choose download from website (it's free there, paid through the market for some reason), choose your phone model, and that's it.

incorrect again! Imo rom manager can cause more problems then its worth...op follow section 5 of my guide for flashing anything aosp jb related.
It's not the touch version 6.0.1.2. It's the regular one. The touch available in that application is 5.8 version, not wise to run with jb. How can I be any clearer? That app will not give you cwm touch 6.0.1.2.

you dont need cwm touch...regular cwm6.0.1 works just fine from the ez recovery app. not to mention it works for everything. the reason im saying this is because new users need to learn how to manually flash things first to get a better understanding of what they are doing. rom manager can cause more trouble for folks like the op who flash things before doing research. sorry not trying to give ya a hard time as what you said is correct, i just dont think its a good recomendation for the op.
