[Solution] Heimdall on Linux | i.e. ERROR: Failed to recieve response!

I was following the instructions HERE then I had that famous error that no one apparently has a solution for it anywhere!
So anyway straight to the point it, it was some "libusb" components missing. Thanks to AdamOutler in this THREAD I was able to figure it out.
I have Xubuntu 12.04 installed and found out that libusb was in fact installed but it appears to be for some reason - I am not that expert anyway - Heimdall wasn't able to connect to the tablet.
Solution: [should work on Ubuntu, any Ubuntu based OS like Xubuntu, Kubuntu, etc or any other Linux distribution]
First of all for those who doesn't know how to install it in the first place, CLICK HERE! and download both Command Line and Frontend versions because you have to first install the Command Line version in order to make the Frontend version work
1. Now find Synaptic Package Manager, usually in Menu>System>Synaptic Package Manager

If not then you have to install it via Ubuntu Software Center.
2. Now use the Quick filter and search for "libusb" as in the screenshot
You have to make sure the following packages are installed:
libusb-ocaml
libdevice-usb-perl
libhpmud0 (not sure if it's essential)
libusb-0.1-4
libusb-1.0-0
libusb-1.0-0-dev
libusb-dev
libusbprog-dev
libusb++0.1-4c2
libusb++-dev
libusbtc08-1
libusbmuxd-dev
libusbprog0
libusbmuxd1
If you found a package "ticked" then it's installed, otherwise you have to tick it then choose "Mark for installation".
When you finish marking packages, click on Apply to....APPLY! xD
Now restart your computer and now you'd be able to use Heimdall without any problem

Hello, i had the same error in heimdall 1.4.0 n Ubuntu 12..04
i tried to install other libusb package, but now, Heimdall don't recognize my phone !
Any ideas ?

for ubuntu just open terminal and run

[Q] Drivers won't install properly, PLEASE HELP

Hi. I'm having issues installing drivers, i've tried uninstalling them, reboot and install again, various versions... this is what i get...
And can't load lg support tool to download latest and right drivers. I really don't know what to do, i've downgrded from CM10 to v30a, and want to root o3d but drivers are givig me the hard time... Someone pls help ASAP

Its very important to check usb debugging
Before anything make sure that all LG Drivers and everything Installed and run under Windows 7 if you run Windows 8 you should to disable driver signature enforcement windows 8 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337545

I never noticed that and don't know what it is. As long as you have the other 3 drivers you should be good for using LG Flash Tool, Fastboot or whatever software for flashing .bin, .fls, .kdz and recoveries. I have not used LG Update tool in a while. When LG released their official ICS it was bricking some devices; seems it is not very reliable.

try to change usb port and usb cable before that try to make hard rest for phone or install driver manual or from Windows update
or Probably USB socket in the phone some thing wrong in it

Phone can't boot up, how to copy a ROM via recovery?

So basically i am trying to put the ROM zip file to the phone via ADB..
I have TWRP, so i start ADB SIDELOAD
connect phone to computer
and run adb devices
but i have never managed to find the phone...
I even tried to install adb drivers but:

windows sometimes has a lot of problem.

If you've got a driver installed that works fine you can use Device Manager in Windows. Connect your phone, find it in the list, choose update driver, and the option that lets you choose a driver from the list. Select the driver that works (mine is called MyHTC) and it should install. You need to repeat this for eachc of the three states (adb in Android, fastboot, and adb in Recovery)

Yes made it work with ubuntu!

i just had to download adb sdk and install lib32stdc++6
and adb was ready!

When I start FlashTool_E2 the corner left-bottom is pink!?!?!
If I start the "usb map wizard" don't finds any connection.
If I do "start" and clik on "USB1" it give me
An EBL must be injected. None was found in the downloaded file.
For some systems there must be an injected EBL. The file specified for download does not contain an injected EBL.
Check that the file is correct for the target. This error can also occur on a normal boot time out, in which case just try again.

An error happened during the boot sequence.
This could be physical transmission error. Check connection and COM port and try again. If the error persists contact the developer.

I have two Vi7 tablets and after firmware update they both have the same MAC address 0a:0b:ad:0d:00:d8 and cant be used on network at the same time.
Any solution to be able to change MAC address on either of the tablets ?

I think I read everything what was written on this forum about flashing Vi7 but I still have a problem. I can not find an apropriate drivers for CDC, and even Intel(R) USB flash loader doesn't work correctly.
Could you help me? Is there anybody who has a package of driveres for win7 64 bit?

Can you please give me the driver link for CDC?
on the device manager I have:
one port as "Android device" -> "android bootloader interface"
after i install the ADB installer from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
(the fastboot doesen't work for me...)
but the other 3 ports are ander the "Other Devices" and no driver...
Can you please give me the drivers for the rest. and explain?!

The 11 Beta only refers to the Android Flash Tool I cannot find any instructions for using ADB and Fastboot, are you using that tool if not then try that
Or going back to a factory image using normal fasboot and then using the flashtool.
Unusually it also says you need to enable oem unlock as well as usb debugging in developer options before starting.
Other than that, I have run out of ideas as it is 11 beta.

i got the same problem here and i'm unable to solve it , the Pixel 2 is the most forgetten phone i got .
no support here on xda and nothing cool , Kernels and roms are bs
i used to have Hammerhead , bullhead , C'mon even OnePlusOne aka Bacon is still up with new things updated it's a phone from 2014 or something
