I'm not sure if it's just me but I find that text on my TF300T is slightly blurry. It's primarily is only on fine and small text. For example...if you add the calendar widget, the text that lists the time of the event is almost "washed out".
I find my Nexus S has clearer looking text than the tablet in most cases.
This is my first 10" tablet and I'm not sure if I'm expecting too much from it...but I find my 7" BB Playbook screen is much more clearer (by a lot) than the TF300T.
Is this common given the IPS display and price point of the tablet. Besides some minor light bleed I'm very impressed with it.

AW: Text blurry?
I have the same problems with mine. It looks like the low PPI rate is the problem. The resolution is just too small for such a big screen. But maybe I'm wrong and mine has the same problem as yours.

I've done some digging and some people seem to say it's a contrast issue....I've tried a couple apps in the store that allow me to adjust the contrast and white level but it just doesn't seem to work.
I'm within the 14 days to exchange it at the store so I just wanted to know if this is what I should expect from this tablet or I might have better luck with a new unit.

From the picture it doesn't really look "blurry" per say. It looks like its simply not there at parts of the letter lol. I would def try a new unit. I absolutely love my tablet!

I really do not one to create two threads on this...
issue 1
while charging (tested 2 chargers so far) I get feedback over the speakers when using the line out. we have tried 5 devices through the same set up and the skyrocket is the only one with this feedback
http://youtu.be/P-XmzjoMN4g
issue 2
a number of our photos turn out blue, some others have an odd bright line

Your first issue is a common complaint for all smartphones. They put out so much EMF noise that cheaply made speakers tend to crackle when they are near. Only solutions are speakers with better shielding or keeping the phone away. Sometimes a separation of 3-5 feet is enough.
Issue 2 is just weird. I don't know what to tell you except that it is probably not related to one. Do all your pictures turn out like that or just some?
Thanks for the reply...but out of 5 android devices...this is the only one that does this in the same vehicle/same cables (Harmon kardon sound system)
That is the odd thing about the pics.. it isn't all of them. I would say 1 in 20

check your finger placement, it may be guiding the LED flash away from 1 side of the image, and towards the other (at least on pic #2)

Image via: Phone Arena
Phone Arena was just sent alleged press images of the upcoming ASUS-Google Nexus 7 tablet. If the images are real, the Nexus 7 will be a three-toned tablet, with a white front to the tablet and a two-toned black and gray backplate. I’m not quite sold on the three-tone look, so here’s hoping the Nexus 7 will come in two color schemes (white and black/gray) similar to other Android tablets.
Sources for Phone Arena confirmed that the device will in fact feature a Tegra 3 processor, and that the tablet would launch with Android 4.1, commonly believed to be the launch version number for Jelly Bean.
From the press shots, we noticed that the Nexus Tablet features a speaker on the front of the device, a common placement for speakers on phones as opposed to tablets, where speakers are normally located on tablets.
This speaker location leads us to believe that the Nexus Tablet will likely be able to make phone calls using Google Voice or other VOIP services. If not, having a speaker on the front of the device still makes sense to us, as it tends to result in better sound output.
We should be learning more about the Nexus Tablet at Google I/O at the end of this month, with a widespread launch slated for July. The Nexus Tablet is expected to retail in the $150-$250 range to take on the Kindle Fire and a rumored 7″ iPad that could be launching later this year. Stay tuned for updates.

My vote?
Fake.
Look at the front of it.
It looks too much like the Galaxy Note (Even up to the sensors and the camera)
Also the whole ratio seems bonkers.
I've got a 7" tablet and that looks a lot more like a 4,5 or 5" phone (scaled up?) to me.

I'm with him
As long as Asus releases their own MeMO 370T tablet, I don't care about this watered down Nexus Tablet.
Definitely not sure what to think about these pictures though. Interesting find, nonetheless.
Also, what's the deal with Computex? Was Asus just there on June 4th and that's it? Just curious because nothing about their Nexus Tablet or ME370T (just went through FCC) was even mentioned. All the rage was about the AiO Windows/Android tablets. Is Computex 2012 over?
Im still awaiting a case/protection for my nexus 5, and until i have some protection for it its not yet my main phone, however ive been using it at home, and ive just noticed a mark under the screen, which could be a dead pixel or dust

outlined in red ( phots not that great but you can see the mark that doesn't move regardless of whats on screen) - highly irritating now i know its there, my eyes are drawn to it. would this be a RMA job?
Yeah, its kind of tough when it's near the middle of the screen like that. It really depends on how much it bothers you. Mine just came in the mail an hour ago and after playing around a little, noticed 1 small dead pixel on bottom right of screen. It's kind of gray, not black. But I'm not really noticing it, I have to really look for it and even then it's hard to see. My phone is otherwise perfect - no vibration issues, power button is solid, etc. I think I'll just keep it.

Yeah I would rma it. That would do definitely bother me.

I have a speck of something in almost exactly the same place. RMA won't be shipped until December 3. Hope the replacement doesn't have this issue.

its a dead pixel, mate
Its dead pixels. I had two of this massive dead pixels on my iphone 5 and the apple genius guys replaced it with a new one.
You should definately RMA it and get it replaced. I was planning to buy a nexus 5 myself but have been getting negative feedback on the speaker quality and the dead pixels issue hence I think I will either wait for the LG G2 Mini or something else.
I bought 3 note pros, 2 were bought as soon as it was released here in Canada for my father and girl friend, and another one just few days ago for my self.
then i found out as soon as turned the new one on, the white color produced by later wasn't quite white compare to the ones i bought several month ago. and maximum brightness wasn't as bright as the first two as well.
so i decided to exchange, went to the future shop with my girlfriend's tablet to show the difference in white color and brightness. I opened up a new box right in front of customer service and guess what it has same problem. I asked for another set and the technician refused to do so saying there's nothing wrong with the unit. so i took my girlfriend's tablet out and show him how bad the screen is compared to old tablet and told him me being picky with 800 dollar tablet's screen is normal, he could not say a thing and opened up another box telling me he would not open up another one anymore because "company cannot make any money selling openbox item" which i think is DEFECTIVE UNIT rather than open box. He said he will do return if i am still not satisfied. (Can they really do that? seriously? now i am thinking i might complain this matter to head now..)
anyway the new one had the same problem, so i had to return the unit that they will not exchange anymore regardless... and went to best buy across the street and the first unit i opened was same thing again so i just kept it assuming Samsung might have changed the panel or something.
my point is.. LCD panels used in later batch of note pros might be differ from the first batch and it is really bad compare to the first batch.. or i am just being super picky.....
i will take a picture later tonight to show you guys as well.
is anyone having similar problem with recently purchased unit?
Are the screen modes all set the same across all three devices? (Referring to Settings--> Device--> Display--> Screen Mode, also check Reading Mode is off).

Yes thats the first thing i did. Ser brightness to max, reading mode off and tried 3 different modes one at a time.
Odd. Ironically there were early complaints that the display doesn't do yellows well lol.

I have the same exact problem. The yellow and green have 'black dots'. It looks awful! Is there any solution?
Last night while using my phone in the dark, the brightness set down low, I noticed on sites that were darker themed that there is an odd anomaly in my screen. There is a line (that reminds me of a hair, maybe an eyelash) that only shows when the brightness is low. I was able to take a picture of it with my girlfriends G3, though it's much more noticeable when you're using the phone, as it's stationary when you scroll.

This is my first Super AMOLED screen in a while, but I don't remember anything like this before.
If it truly bothers you i'd see if your carrier will exchange it for you. I had a notification light go out and tmobile exchanged it forb $5. You'Lloyd get a refurbished device, but eliminate this issue.

Just exchange. Next time look at the one you are getting in the store more carefully.

You realize the lights are so bright in store something like this would never show up, right?
Actually, those spots are not considered a defect in Samsung's eyes. The spots are the nature of producing amoled screens. My old PSVita(3g wifi) model are riddled with these ink spots that are only visible on a black background in a very dark environment. Also my s3 and s4 had them. Not all of them has these spots and some are more prevalent than others. It's just the luck of the draw when it comes to this matter.
