[Q] Help installing ROM CM10_VJ_4.1.2_v3.0 - General Questions and Answers

Hello, first of all i apologise for my bad english, i'm italian and i speak so and so.
I'm trying to install rom in the object on my HTC Desire and i have some problem.
The device is more than 30 minutes with the screen of CyanogenMod with the blu circle rotating after i proceded to install rom from sd card.
I had the same problem with installation of Runnymede aio 6043 (i left my device for a whole night waiting the process of installation without results..) and now it seems it's going to happen the same with this rom so i think i'm making some mistake.
Before to try to install this rom i re-installed without problems the Froyo official rom for my phone.
I need your help to understand where i'm making a mistake because i think it's not possible that i have the same problem with two differents rom.

[Q] ROM issues

I had a ROM for the HTC Desire installed and I wiped it to install a new ROM. Which didnt take, I kept getting an error message in the ROM installer. I took out the battery and kept trying til it fully installed but I posed with another problem, the touch screen no longer worked ( I also had trouble with while running the Android ROM but I could get it to work most of the time.). I only like to NAND installs as I only have 2GB SD cards (2) which are full as is. I would like to install the stock ROM but it wont download for me or I would like to install a better working ROM.
Everytime I try to install a ROM I get the same error messages in the ROM installer. How can I fix this and get a working ROM (whether it be Stock or otherwise) installed on to it?
(HTC HD2 T-Mobile)
Edit: Got the original ROM on but touch screen still not working. I have found out it could be the Digitizer, is there a way to fix this without sending it to HTC because I got mine from a friend (pretty much brand new) so the phone it not registered to me, only the sim card is.

CM9 can't get past welcome screen

Hello,
I appreciate everyone here is from quite a technical background. I'm quite a noob with these things but hopefully this isn't a massive issue.
I have a HTC sensation (I'm in the uk) and I have been using cm7 for many months. I've just decided to download cm9 and install and everything was going smoothly until I get to the welcome screen.
I try to change English (USA) to English (uk) but this freezes the phone and makes it reboot. I go through this motion over and over again. Any ideas please?
When I updated to cm9, I assumed my phone was already s-off (to be honest I still don't know what this means but thought I did it when I installed cm7) so all I did this time was download cm9 and gapps to the root folder of the SD card. Then I opened rom manager, flashed clockwork recovery and went into recovery mode. I then wiped the data on the phone, wiped the cache, installed cm9 and then gapps and now I'm here!
Any ideas anyone? Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Once you are s-off,you do not lose it,unless you manually switch it on in fastboot.
Did you update your firmware before installing the new ROM?

Hi, many thanks for your reply. No I didn't update the firmware, I don't think it states this in the update instructions on the CM website - I assume I was supposed to update firmware?
What should I do now, considering the phone is in this silly loop (welcome screen to off to welcome etc...)

Hi,
The best guide on firmware update is HERE
Substitute ARHD for CM9.

The post above mine links to the best guide to get CM9 booting.
But in the mean time if you don't have the time to figure all that out (it's not hard, but it can take a little while your first time because you'll be extra careful and read all the instructions 100 times before each step) you can revert back to a Gingerbread ROM. I assume that's where you started, so if you have the Gingerbread firmware you can boo any Gingerbread ROM. That will only take about 5 minutes. So if you're in a rush to get a working phone right now just do that and it'll boot right up.
haha yes i read the instructions several times, although it's quite clear, to a newbie it's still very complicated! managed to get through it though and in hindsight that thread is pure awesomeness.
managed to get cm9 working now so will spend some time messing around with it.
thank you for all of your help.
ps. yes i began using gingerbread (stock) but i didn't have a ROM to hand and I wasn't sure if I can just download and install any rom (stock or not) willy nilly without having to do several different things to my phone so i just tried to get cm9 sorted. hopefully won't have to update rom now for some time.
thanks again!!

[Q] Failure to install custom ROM or RUU

Hey all! This is my first post here since i got my htc one S 2 days ago. I have read quite a bit on how to install custom roms and everything.
The very first ROM i installed was the venom viperOneS OTA 2.1.0 and it ran well until i noticed that my camera was not working. Not even through other apps that require camera. All it says is that the camera is unavailable and shuts down the apps. I tried dozens of things to fix the camera, but no luck. Then realised that my microphone didn't work and i couldn't call anybody.
I decided to get my phone back to stock, but it seems to be an extremely difficult process. I downloaded loads of RUU files (including the newest RUU Ville U JB 45) and after re-locking the phone, and running the .exe file i always get an error after its trying to change the signatures saying that this is not the right file for my phone. (When i press 'update' in the installed the current version is blank, not sure if this means anything).
Then i tried an older viperOneS OTA and was left with a bootloop.
Could somebody please help me out on how to get my phone to stock version?
And before you ask if i've wiped my phone before any ROM installation - i have multiple times.
Thank you in advance.

[Resolved] [Q] Impossible to instal Android Revolution

Hello.
First of all, I tried searching for a similar problem but I haven't found anything quite like this.
I have a SG S3 with a stock 4.3 Rom (but I was on cyanogenmod 11 before that).
And I wanted to try Android Revolution (ARHD), so I added CWM and downloaded ARHD 51.0 from here. I then proceed to install it via the SD card in recovery mode (after wipe) like it's recommended. The installation goes on, the phone restarts. And I'm back to my stock rom (rooted mind you), like I did not even try installing ARHD.
My current version is I9300XXUGNA8, I guess I should be on I9300XXUGNB6 after install, but there's absolutely no change whatsoever. I tried this 3-4 times with always the same results.
Has anyone ever had this problem? Do you know why I can't seem to install this ROM?
Many thanks in advance for any help on this!

[Completed] Galaxy Fame s6810L - Stuck in CWM after flashing a custom ROM

Hey!
First of all, this post will be too hard to write because of my English.
I had decided to improve the performance of my Fame a long time ago (I have to clarify that I'm a noob at flashing roms and doing related stuff). So I flashed Galaxy Fame - Stock deodexed and it worked perfect.
After a while my cell phone became slow again so I installed Cyanogenmod 12.1. I didn't like that rom due to the bugs and performance.
So I wiped the data/cache/dalvik and re-flashed the previous deodexed rom again.
What's the problem? It boots and stays in the "s6810L" screen for a few seconds, then reboots and stays in that screen again for a few seconds and THEN it shows the CWM recovery menu.
I haven't tried another rom yet, but I want to know why it didn't work this time... I really like the deodexed rom because it's so smooth and fast.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm sorry for my english again, thanks in advance, and regards!
Edit #1: I'm using this CWM
Hi !
When flashing roms a factory reset is recommended especially when flashing between 2 totally different based roms , cyanogen / stock
My advice is to use odin and revert to stock , don`t flash via recovery
Also , I can move this thread to the designated location if you continue to have problems and the solution I suggested doesn`t work , there may be more users with the same device.
Use the same thread you have linked above to get the firmware
Good luck and let me know !
