[Q] Still stuck - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I still can not get my TF101 to connect to my windows 7 64bit computer. I have downloaded asus sync, naked drivers, I have installed the stock update from asus causing me to lose root. I can transfer files using filezilla but would really like to be able to connect through usb. I think the tablet itself is missing something. Right before I tried the stock asus update when I was in CWM it said it could not mount E: I think and that something was not there but I can not remember. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank You.
Model number TF101

Do you still have CWM installed?
Also, is your tablet recognized if you enable USB Debugging?

No I am stock no root

Seeing as how this is the 2nd thread you have on basically the same topic (much better to keep all the replies in one IMO), I still do not see where you confirmed or denied specifically if your tablet can be seen by windows when USB Debugging mode is enabled and the tablet is booted up.

I do apologize for a second posting. I also did not see that question. No my pc does not see it on or off or apx

When it is on, booted up and has USB debugging checked in settings.
This is different from APX mode.

Same thing I get a pop up that says One of the USB devices attached to your computer has malfunctioned. In device mgr it comes up with an unknown device (code 43) nothing else is there even with show hidden devices.

[Q] device not recognized over USB

I've been trying to connect my Trasformer to my computer over USB for a while now so that I can use Nachoroot. When I plug it in, a bubble pops up on my PC on the bottom right saying "USB device not recognized". If i go into the device manager and click update driver and have it look in the folder with the USB drivers from Asus's website, it says that i already have the most up to date drivers. I've tried uninstalling the device, installing the package with Sync and web storage, but get the same result.
I have tried using a different cable, a different computer, and a different operating system (specifically windows 7, windows 8, and ubuntu). I've also restored my Transformer using the option in Settings.
Anybody have any ideas as to what will work?
Have you install Asus PC sync?
If you haven't you should
yes, i've installed sync.
Take a look at this thread, especially the "trouble shooting" portion
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13635629
I had looked at that thread before and have tried all of those steps, and tried them again, but no luck.
One note being that with the other drivers from the hotfile download on that thread, i'm unable to install them. In the device manager on my computer, when I plug the computer in it shows up as an unrecognized device, and when I try to use those drivers it says that they don't apply.
I am having the same problem. I was rooted on the 3.2.1 system with a US version BAO transformer TF101-A1 and the computer was able to use the drivers. However, I could not upgrade and was having issues unrooting, so I did a factory reset then upgraded OTA 3 different times until I got to the ICS 4.0.3 (which runs fine, just unrooted!). Now I cannot get the transformer drivers to install! I get the "USB Device Not Recognized" error and in the device manager it shows up as an Unknown Device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. I try to update the drivers using Asus drivers, Vipormod drivers, and the drivers I used to originally root it which was Brks_rootkit_v7, but it won't accept them. This is without Asus Sync installed and trying on four different computers using Windows 7 64 bit and two different cables. I even tried loading the Asus Sync and it will not find the device. When I try to boot into stock recovery, I just get an Android that falls over with a red exclamation point. Also to note, my wife has a transformer still on 3.2.1 and rooted and it recognizes it immediately on all four computers using either cable. I have been everywhere searching for an answer (including this site) and tried just about everything. I just submitted a service claim email to Asus telling them that after the update I am unable to use Asus Sync and the drivers aren't recognized. I am extremely frustrated! Any help will be appreciated.

and

These also seem to be a similiar problem and as yet a solution has not been found.
Thank you for your quick reply. I will head over there.
Just to clarify, I can download the appropriate file, flash that file (using cwm) and then it will boot up in ICS or do I need to update to ICS after that?
Thanks,

DRIVERS?

No USB access but need to root

I have a tf700 with a strange problem. When I plug it into the computer, it reports there is an error in the USB descriptor and doesn't install the drivers. I know the drivers are installed OK because I have a 2nd tf700 that installs fine. I also tried linux with no luck - lsusb reports nothing when I plug it in, but it does find the other tablet fine.
The error occurs in MTP, PTP, debugging option on or off, and fastboot. It charges normally through the port.
I disassembled the nonworking unit and swapped the port/cable assembly but the problem stayed with the tablet. I also reflashed stock from SD using the stock recovery with no effect.
My goal is to get root access and install TWRP. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to connect to adb wirelessly without root access or is there an older version of stock I can flash and self-root without a PC?
So it looks like I'm out of luck then?

[Q] My PC can't see my TF300T....any ideas?

Hello
I am slowly trying to learn how to root my TF300T in preparation for installing my first mod but I have a problem. I am using Android 4.2.1 and as far as I can tell I have USB debugging ticked on my settings.
I am following the Cyanogen tutorial and I have installed Android SDK to my PC and put it into the root of the C\ folder. It is revision 22.3, if that helps anybody.
I do not know if I have the correct settings within the Android SDK Manager, however the Google USB Driver says that it is installed.
However when I connect my TF300T to my PC, with a 'male to male' USB cable nothing happens.
If I connect any USB device to the TF300T, then it is recognise and I can use it.
If I connect my Nexus 4 phone to my PC then the PC recognises the device in both the Device Manager and a Auto-Play pop-up menu comes on the screen. I can then freely move files to and feom the phone to my PC with no issues.
Does anybody know where I am going wrong with either my Tablet or PC which is stopping them communicating with each other?
bump
Anybody able to help me?
please.

Not sure, where you are connecting that cable.
You need to use the USB/charger cable that came with your device and connect that to your PC.

Fantastic
Thank you so much for helping me with which cable I should use. I thought I was going mad.
Using the USB/Charger cable worked.
When I connected my Tablet to the computer, my PC went looking for the drivers. The PC found most of them however I got the following error message
ASUS Android composite ADB Interface No Driver found.
Any ideas how I find and install this ADB Interface?

Sorry, I am a Linux user, never had any USB driver issues myself. If you search the forums for "USB naked drivers", you should find some help and instructions.

Sadly I do not have a clue how to use this bit of software. I have installed it. My Tablet is connected to my PC.
But I do not have a clue what to do from there.
Thanks for trying to help me.

[Q] Recovery Help

Ok here is my problem and I will try including all the relevant information that I am aware of. I can't see my TF300T when I enable fastboot mode on the tablet.
1. I turned on usb debugging in tf300t settings
1. I unlocked the tf300t using tool from ASUS
2. I installed the android sdk kit
3. turned off tablet
4. Plugged tablet into usb
5. Held power off and volume down ( boots up with 3 icons. RCK Android Wipe ) pc comes up with failed usb device. I go into device manager and
under usb controllers it shows unknown device. I click update driver select the naked driver winsub and it says it is not compatible. I tried deleting device and rebooting etc but no matter what I do or what driver I use I can't get the computer to recognize the tf300t in fastboot mode. It will work fine when it is not in fastboot mode I can transfer files all day long. but no matter what I do I can't get computer to recognize the device in fastboot mode.
Computer.
asus H87-pro motherboard
8gb ram
Intel I5 Haswell
OS
Windows 7 Home Premium Service pack 1
I am really befuddled and could use a hand.

Just a quick update. I used a different computer that I had never plugged the tf300t in and before I plugged it in, booted it into fastboot, It showed up as a fastboot device and installed the naked driver. So that problem is solved.
