SynergyRom Static Noise - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I just updated to Synergy ROM r290 and I am getting static noise in my headphones. The static noise can be best heard through Bluetooth headphones with the volume up on both the phone and the Bluetooth headphones. I switched out headphones to wired ones and can still hear it but it is more faint. I tried playing it through my cell phone speakers and it's there too but faint so I know it's the ROM. Any suggestions for a fix?

Do you notice it more when the device is idle or the screen is off? It might be a voltage issue. Try flashing LeanKernel. Or try boosting voltages on Ziggy kernel.

I really can't tell the difference when the screen is off or on but i'll try to flash to LeanKernal after i figure out how to do it. I'm very new to this so i probably won't get to it until later this weekend. Thanks for your suggestion.

Could someone tell me how to access Leankernal or ZiggyKernal to change voltage? I've never done it before and what voltage should i change my phone too?

Thanks for your help. I flashed back to 169 and my music works fine now. I tried r326, r290, and r257 but they all had static noise on my blue tooth headset. Dalvik cache and cache partition were the only things that i did a wipe on.

Anyone else have audio problems when using headphones/auxilary cables?

So I have my phone rooted with leedroids latest update and when o try to play music in my car with the auxilary cable I will at random times get a lot of static, the weird thing is it always seems to follow the same pattern and beat of interference, I have tried replacing the cable with same results, also sometimes when using headphones I get a little static (but not as bad and not even close to as often), I was using Synergy for a bit and had the same results so i don't think its ROM relatedx any advice would be great

Oh Dang. How Unfrigging lucky buddy. I read one in seven Inspires has this issue....
Totally Kidding. That is not true at all.
I have never ever had that problem, and I am a daily headphones and auxilary cable user - Gotta have my muzak.
So it sounds like it is in the jack itself, or jack input I mean... Used tons of roms and never encountered it. Can you tell if its the cable turning or moving? And is the jack snug in your input?
I have seen this from time to time with kernels that use the sound boost. Try a diff kernel.

Good call Z. I assumed for the longest while all kernels boosted audio output - then I discovered the magic of changelogs! Never knew this though, that's good to know.

nexus s jittery music coming from headphone jack

Anyone know how to fix this? I can play music without jitter from the phone speaker but when i plug it into an aux to car or headphone it starts jitter.
i use voodoo sound on air kernel nexus 4.0.4
edit: I did a factory reset on CWM and reflashed 3.8 air kernel voodoo color vid+wifi fix. changed my scheduler to deadloop and governor back to smartassv2
it solved my problem.
Describe the jitter you are hearing. Hard to determine the problem with only the word "jitter".
the track will start to skip like a scratched cd
and the noise the fills the "skip" is like when you plug in the jack and it initially makes that connection sound
Does it do this with the screen on? Governor and CPU frequency settings would be nice just to rule some more stuff out.
I assume you've already ruled out broken headphones or the likes. Have you tried a different music player, and could you tell me what settings you have for any EQ apps and voodoo control on the phone?
If all this pans out we may be stuck with a port that's given up or part of the DAC and it's wiring. In either case i'd be going to samsung if there is no water damage and you're still on warranty.
use a different kernel
it jitters when the hone is off, phone's not overclocked at all, no eq apps. stock music player. should i tried running a factory reset?
im quite surprised that on demand settings with cfq made such a difference on the stutter/jitter. however, it still is jittering slightly, can someone explain why the governor and the scheduler would make such a difference?
I had this problem too...I changed the kernel and this stopped...try doing this...oh and at the time I too was running air kernel...hope it helped

I run AIR Kernel 3.8 (65fps+Blue Colors), and have never experienced this. 100-1000Mhz and lazy governor.

Did this by chance happen after you closed lock screen? and do you have your CPU governor set to Hotplug?
Download SetCPU and use it to change your cpu Governor to Performance. This fixes the issue. Cyanogenmod has this issue and has had it since the alpha days.
ah right cool ill try thanks

[Q] Is There Any Way to Make Headset Volume Louder?

Hello everyone!
I got the S III a few days ago and so far I'm pleased with it. I rooted it yesterday and got rid of the Verizon crapware and it's even better! I do have one issue though. I often listen to music in my car, and for that I usually use my phone. I'm having an issue with it being to quiet though. All of my other phones and tablets have been loud enough, but the S III is just barely audible when I'm on the highway even on full blast. Is there a configuration file or something I can edit? I'm also wondering if it has something to do with the "Loud music may harm your hearing if you listen to it for a long time" prompt.
Thanks for any help!

That doesn't help me, I don't even have the galaxy 553 or whatever.
You could use Volume+ in the Play Store. Many GNex users used that for their lower than normal speaker.

I just tried it. It did nothing to the volume level. Neither quieter or louder.
I take it there's no way to do it?
Try this. Phenomenal sound. Read the op carefully for all the install instructions. Hope it works for you.

Try playing with it some more. I use the paid version and it works great at increasing the volume.

That prompt appears to be only a benign warning - happens when you have a plug in the headphone jack and then raise the volume beyond a certain point.
This phone's playback volume is good for me using the headphone jack in the car, for what it's worth.

I've been searching to solve this issue as well. Try awesome beats http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1819353 (note: I just made a nandroid backup and flashed the zip and it works) in the awesomebeats app I set bluetooth tab(assuming bluetooth headset) I set beats boost enable and moderate, enable equalizer: preset: vocal boost, loudness compensation: weak or strong. It seems to make an improvement unless I'm just experiencing a placebo effect.
Just search volume+(volume boost), on play store a simple app to boost volume

Ok, so I really thought this would work, but once it hits a little over half way volume level (or the point where it starts saying loud music may harm your hearing), and I try to turn it up, it doesn't get any louder. Seems like it just increased the gain. Thanks though.
I'll try awesome beats next, I just don't need the bass so loud, I already have a subwoofer in my car. ^^
Volume+ is what you need I use this myself and it definately works, make sure to go into each of the settings speaker, headphone, bluetooth and check off audio modifications and use custom eq settings then slide your eq settings up. play around with the settings to get best balance. Bottom slider is volume boost.
I use my GS3 in my car and I don't have a problem. I run it through a horrible fm transmitter and it is still loud enough. When I plug it in at first it cuts my volume in half due to the headphone safety setting which I can't find to turn off. It was an option on my Droid Razr. I'm running the synergy rom on my phone. You can try messing with the equalizer settings depending on what you play your music through that should help. but it sounds like a problem with your radio or your aux cable you are using. Try it in someone else's car or a different cable.

Amazing. Exactly what I was looking for! THIS IS A GREAT SOLUTION FOR ANYONE LOOKING!
Thank you for sharing, it is indeed an improvement.
I'm just trying to find out whats draining my battery now though. Seems the "Phone" application has began to drain battery life, but it may just be a coincidence.

It's my setup. I'm using computer speakers and an inverter with a subwoofer to listen to music. It's all good now though. I found a great solution.

Speaker crackles at higher volumes

My speaker sound crackles on high volumes. Anyone else facing this problem?
Have you used any mod/app to increase audio gain? With/without root? Using any custom ROM? Kernel manager?
Volume too high, bass clipping...
blown driver or something is loose.

Hi.
No mod/app to increase audio gain; with root, OS11, no custom ROM or Kernel.

This issue only occurs when the speaker gain is too high. Means there's something odd with your audio system.
Check mixer_paths_*.xml files located in /system/vendor/etc, check if they got any modifications. Speaker gains are usually valued by 84. It can go up to 87 for high volume without crackling.
Anything higher, and it will go crazy .. it'll be just like an old Radio lost signal. Of it was 84, Try to lower it, even 78 is a good value.
If that didn't work, there's probably an app modifying the gain externally, similar to this app.
Try booting into safe mode.
