[Q] Where to find ROM zip in TWRP? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Long time reader, first time poster, which just goes to show that the answers are usually there!
However this time I just cant find an answer and i've tried searching for similar posts but the search function is broken!
Never used TWRP before only CWM and this is my first time trying to flash my TF101 from stock having grown tired waiting for JB.
I'm trying to work out why i can't seem to see ANY files in TWRP 2.2.1.4 on my TF101. There are folders listed on the left for both internal and external SD but my external SD doesn't have any of those folders on it, yet they are still listed. Do the zip files for ROMS need to be in a specific folder for TWRP to see them?.
I did a full wipe ready for the new ROM but now cant find a ROM to flash so I'm stuck in TWRP!
any assistance greatly appreciated.

Sussed it....
Puzzled it out after a few minutes.......the files are in the sdc folder...not sdcard or sd-ext.......still don't understand why i couldn't see the backup that TWRP itself created though. Many thanks to Rayman FX for what looks to be an awesome ROM. Just gotta work out how to do this overclocking to 1.6ghz!:good :good:

oh dear
Flashed the wrongs gapps, wiped everything in TWRP and somehow wipe TWRP too.
I wanna cry. Back to square one.

Not sure how you wiped TWRP from TWRP, but boot to APX mode and use EasyFlasher to install TWRP again.

cheers for the reply
cheers for replying, i'm presently trying to do that but having issues getting my pc to recognise my tablet when i try and put it in apx mode......i dont get any chime or indication at all......

IT may not actually be in APX mode then. It's a little tricky sometimes since you have no way of knowing if it is. Try putting it in APX mode again (hold power for like 10 secs and start over when you're sure it's powered off). Also make sure you have the drivers installed (it should chime anyway though).

[Q] Need help ics update wiped out my cwm

Hi every one,
My transformer was working fine... then came ICS, I was prey of the savage need to update, Made a backup with CWM and download the new rom.
What i did first was wipe cache and data, so far so good, flashed the ICS revolver beta, but in some point I screw it up and it just didnt boot anymore, just keep rebooting to CWM, couldnt turn off it keept rebooting, so I tryed flashing the new rom and... nothing it kept rebooting to CWM so I flashed back to revolver 3.1.* In booted OK, was runing fine till It crashed and restarted and couldnt get to CWM any more, Used NVFLASH trying to reinstall it but the screen stays off Windows detects it as a APX device but NVFLAS doesnt work since its a B70... it shows some letters in the screen but does nothing.
Please help me. Is there other way to install CWM maybe get acces to the files in the internal memory trough ADM or APX??
I would really apreciate any help, Im desperate!!!
Best regards,
IaxBay
Sounds like your recovery is missing. Can you still boot into revolver? If so reflash CWM recovery from within revolver.
Dead transformer?
Yes you are right, I think I messed up the CWM but cannot get into android at all.
Actually the tablet doesnt start, If I press the power button, or power+vol up or power+vol down... nothing works, but when I plug the usb windows recognice it and make the sound of device found, Actually It apears in device manager. I can get into APX, wich gives me hope... theres maybe a way to acces trough APX to install recovery or something...
If APX work and you have SBK v1, Tran Rouge has am nvflash version of their recovery
Yesss its alive!!!
Thanks so much to the creators of nvflash for saving my transformer.
it Actually my transformer happens to be a B70 I still it has to be SBK1.
Just follow thevinstructions of a video I found somewhere Ill post the link later cause i cannot seem to find it , anyway its working and im writing my horrible english in my revived tf101. Lesson lerned: READ A LOT about what your are going to do before you do it.
Thanks again XDA

[Q] Blue logo screen on g2x PLEASE HELP

This is my first thread that i ever needed to start on anything on phones so please understand that i'm REALLY DESPERATE i have looked in a ton of places for this fix and i tried to use clockworkmod and ended up doing that correctly but when i tried to restore it it say i dont have any backups nor recovery files and i tried putting cynagenmod on my sd card but it couldnt find the file and then i tried to use NFFLASH and make it stock android again but nothing happened and ended up stuck on the blue logo screen again. please i dont know what to do
Which version of Cyanogenmod is it? Put it on the root of your SD card. Is it already on the internal storage? I believe when you click "install from .zip" or something of the equivalent there's an option to select "choose from internal storage".
You can boot back into clockwork mod by turning the phone off, holding down the power and volume down buttons until the lg logo with the BLUE background appears, then release.
I was trying to install cynagen mod 7.01 from Rom manager but it froze in the logo screen and so i took out the battery and put it back on and it still continued to do that. After that i used CWM but i didnt have any ROMS to restore it and before it didnt correctly make my backup so i just want to restore it like the way it used to but i dont know where to put it in my sd card

Your sentence is incredibly long. Gave up after the desperate grab for attention. You may have wiped your backups by mistake. It happens. I did it not once, but twice. Give us more info so we can help. ROM, kernel, etc. A list of apps you run on a daily basis would be helpful.

Never use rom manager to install on this phone, you'll continue to run into this problem.
Can you access your phone storage when it's plugged into your computer? If you can, drop CM onto it at the root directory, put it back into your phone, boot into CWM and install the zip.
i think my rom was stock rom 2.3.4 before i tried flashing cynagenmod the apps arent very important to me and i only had this phone for a week because i got too excited about the dual core.
Follow the instructions HERE to the letter. You'll go back to stock and you'll have to root your phone again (if that's what you want to do) but it should get you up and running again.
In future, search, search, and search some more. I assure you, most problems people have had have been discussed and probably solved on these forums.
Welcome to XDA!
What is the name for this process of trying to restore my device from blue logo screen? If i know the name of the issue im trying to fix maybe i can start searching for the guides. I can't really access my internal or sd card when i plug in my usb and i don't really understand what the problem i ran into if its even fixable or not. The link you've sent me for the guide i'm trying right now but i can't just sit here and wait for an hour. Feedback is really appreciated

The whole process (if done correctly) should take but about 15 minutes give or take. What you'll be doing is Flashing Stock Recovery. Download the file provided in the link I gave, and then follow each instruction exactly as it says. Shouldn't be a need to Google any guides as this spell it out for you. Just have read and execute.
If you used NvFlash/One Click Recovery to flash Clockwork Mod to your device then you should already have the APX driver installed on your computer. In that case, half of the battle is already done.
But, if you installed your recovery using Rom Manager, then I would download the APX driver and go through the whole process in the guide I've linked from start to finish.

[Q] Help installing a rom

I have clockwordmod installed on my tf101, however it was the internal sdcard version. I cant boot into Android, as it hangs on startup. This shouldnt be a problem because i should just be able to slide in a microsd and flash a rom as usual right? Well, since the internal cwm is installed, i cant use an internal sdcard. So my next thought was to reformat /system then mount usb device through cwm to transfer a rom over to the internal storage. However, i think something is wrong with my cable. I only have one so i cant test another unless i buy another. Soo.. i have my tablet that wont boot into android, but recovery works fine, and i cant think of a way to be able to flash a new rom so the tablet is usable. Im going to be up trying to remedy the situation for a while, but if anybody has any input and a solution i would greatly appreciate any help.
Cheers!
Try installing TWRP the manual way
Teamw.in/project/twrp2/109
Im assuming you are reffering to the ADB/Terminal method? If so, I cant get that to work because I have no way of transferring the blob onto the internal sdcard.
adb push somerom.zip /sdcard
If this does not work, I'm lost
huh??
if i remember correctly, even when i'm in cwm recovery, if i plug the usb cable into my windows laptop....it picks up the internal storage of the tf101. lemme know if i'm wrong. been a few days since i was in recovery, but i'm almost sure of it.
That should work, but my cable isn't working for some reason. My computer doesn't even detect apx mode, or else I would have just used NVflash. I will definitely try it though, thank you.
All is good now. Ordered a new cable and used easyflasher to reinstall clockworkmod recovery.

[Q] [HELP NEEDED] Asus TF101 Stuck on splash screen ADB doesn't work!

Right, I searched on numerous pages on these wonderful forums, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. So I'll try my luck here. I'll describe my problem.
My TF101 was rooted using the CWM recovery. After doing more research I found out I shouldn't be doing this. But, unfortunately the damage has already been done. After several succesful ROM installations I wasn't quite happy with, I tried one last CM10 install. That's when it all went to ****. My TF101 has been stuck on the Eee Pad splash screen for nearly 2 months now.
Normally when going into the recovery mode I can simply select install from SD card and install a new rom. Now it can't seem to mount and displays E:Can't mount \SD card or whatever.
Further on, I tried using the ADB tools to manually restore system files. Without luck. After which I tried to install the naked USB drivers using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502. Without luck as well. I simply ran out of ideas.
The thing is, in Device manager I do see a device called Android. But, for some reason I can't seem to install any drivers for it. I guesse this would be the first step towards getting it back to work? Or perhaps I should just get it fixed at the computer store?
Any sugestions would be more than welcome!
Easy Flasher will get you back to stock as long as you can access APX. You will lose all data however.
1st mistake read forum before you do something, coz you would have learnt abt CWM issues, anyway thatsvan old story
You got Two options, find an flash able twrp.zip and flash it using current recovery if its still working otherwise as the other guy says easyflasher
To use easy flash you need
Easy flash software from forum
Universal naked driver installed
Asus firmware and PATIENCE
Follow the steps given in the forum and you should get back a tablet running stock rom, then if you want then use easy flash to root your device again but this time use TWRP recovery.....
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda app-developers app
Right, so far I've done everything I could find. I have installed the naked ADB files and thus was able to make a connection through USB. However, I wasn't able to push any files onto the tablet through ADB commands.
I entered the (what I assumed to be) APX mode and tried to use EasyFlasher. It seemed to have worked, because a DOS screen asked me whether or not I wanted to overwrite several files. After ending the procedure I rebooted my tablet. And guesse what: CWM is still there and the tab is still stuck on the Splash screen. Also the internal SD still can't be mounted.
What am I doing wrong. I'm slowly but surely going mad here....
hmmm, easyflasher should not prompt you to overwrite anything, it should just wipe it clean. The only prompt is when you select SBK1 or SBK2.
Can you post screenshots? It'd help us understand what exactly is going on...

Right. Apparently I didn't put it in APX mode correctly. Windows asked me to install APX drivers. Which I now did. I then (I assume) was able to install the new recovery. The screen says !!!!phone update succes!!!!!. As we speak I am trying to install the stock ROM. Fingers crossed.....

I'll just sum up what I've been doing so far, because it still ain't working for me....
1) Put the TF101 in APX mode using POWER + VOLUME UP
2) Started up EasyFlasher 0.8.3 and selected "Flash Asus stock zip / Unbrick"
3) When prompted "file ..\temp\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF" already exists I selected "A(u)to rename all"
4) And then starts doing it's thing
5) Stuck at creating and formatting 15 partitions with several three letter codes.
I've ran the program three times now, but without luck. Any sugestions?~
[EDIT]Alright, managed to get it to work! Ended the tasks in through task manager about 4 times, but the 5th time was a charm. Exactly work as said. All thanks to EasyFlasher![/EDIT]

[Q] TF101 cwm loop. I've looked (and looked), but..see thread

Alright, I hate being that guy. You know, the one who posts the same question as 50 other people because he is too lazy to search. But in my defense, I have spent the last three days pouring over thread after thread and still can't find the answer, so please be patient and gimme a break!
So, I'm stuck in CWM 5.8.3.4 loop after flashing Katkiss and not knowing I couldn't use the "boot to recovery" option. I've got no access to my micro SD card and my x64 Win 7 won't recognize the TF101 so I can't put my own recover zip on. Cold boot goes to the screen that lets me boot Android or Wipe. If I pick Android, it hangs (for hours). I've wiped everything and reinstalled Katkiss, Revolver, Revolution, but I have the same problems.
Is there a thread that starts from the BEGINNING of the fix and sees it through? I've found dozens of threads that say, "Just input (code), flash, and you're done!", but I guess I'm not that far along. I've bricked Dinc/Dinc2, Razrs, etc., but never had trouble fixing them like this TF101.
I've got ADB, JDK, Ubuntu, etc. since I've tried numerous times. Also, I've had no luck with the one-touch fixes. I know I'm missing something easy, I just can't figure it out.
Thank you.
Incidentally, I've tried ***http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...ry-bootloop-fix-tested-my-c10-windows.html*** , but the SDK files come in a zip, not exe and none of the files execute/install in such a way that will let me input commands. I know I'm missing something because a soft brick isn't that big of a deal.
Huh. I don't know what happened, but it involved me cleaning the screen, accidentally pushing buttons, and rebooting, and now it works. No clue, but as long as I never shut it off again, I'm set!
You're gonna need to get the PC to recognise it to fix it I'd say
Easiest way would be using Easyflasher to get TWRP recovery installed, it sounds like you have stock recovery installed at the minute
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
Few people have needed new cables to get the PC to recognise the TF again, might just be needing the correct drivers though which are also linked on that page
Basically install the drivers, put the TF into APX mode,
(Vol Up & Power from powered off state while plugged into the PC)
Then run Easyflasher as admin and choose to flash TWRP (CWM is probably the reason for the bootloop, it doesn't play nice with JB ROMs)
Once you have TWRP installed, flash whichever ROM you want from new recovery and you should be good to go
I appreciate the suggestion, but that isn't doing it. I have the tab booted up and recognized by Windows, but when I try to update to a different CWM or TWRP, nothing happens. I can reboot into CWM 5.8.3.4 all day, but it won't say anything about any different recoveries I've tried to install, though the recoveries appear to be installing correctly according to the dialog given on the tablet.
I've also tried running NVflash, but nothing happens (apx drivers installed). The BAT file briefly says USB not recognized and closes.
Further, I've tried Easyflasher / one click root+recovery and I just get messages saying "ADB server out of date. Killing." The tab still reboots, but upon rebooting, it gets stuck in CWM 5.8.3.4 unless I force cold boot.
I guess the best way to describe this is to say that no matter what I do with the tab or different recoveries, I can't get rid of CWM 5.8.3.4 and no matter what I do, it default boots into CWM.
It default boots into CWM.... I think that is the key here
I remember something about that from a while ago, having to hold Power & Volume Down to boot normally, as if the OS and Recovery partitions were reversed
Unfortunately I can't remember the solution atm, but if you head over to transformerforums.com or give frederuco a PM from here or over there, Im pretty sure I remember him having a solution some time back
I shot him a message. Thanks for the suggestion.
I swear all I did was root, install Katkiss, and reboot into recovery. Is this a common problem to have THIS much trouble with such a simple process? I know now that booting into recovery can cause a loop, but this seems like way too much.
It's having CWM as your recovery when you flash a JB ROM that causes the problems
CWM & JB = Problems
TWRP is the recovery to use once you get out of this mess, good luck
