Stability of all these JB Roms - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I am running the latest version of ICS. I tried the CM10 rom but found that it was unstable and had a lot of things missing or not working compared to ICS. Anyway, with all the JB Roms popping up in the past few weeks, are there any out there that are better or more stable? I have been waiting for AT&T to release JB for HOC but as usual they are taking forever. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Viper3.1 and it doesn't get much better than that. It's my opinion though. I would also suggest CM10.1. I loved it but I personally got an odd glitch where my screen would go black but the phone was still on, as were the capacitive buttons.
Anyone here is going to give you opinions. It's truly up to you to pick. The 2 I listed are great ROMS, stable and have awesome developers who stay on top of things.

I don't expect the AT&T version of JB to be substantially different (probably just more bloat and annoying AT&T branding all over the ROM, really) than any of the stock rooted Sense JB ROMs in Development, or custom ROMs based on those build. So flash one of those and be done with it.

In my opinion you're not going to find anything coming from AT&T as far as JB that's going to be better than the ROMS in development. If anything they are far better. Download a bunch, try them out and stick with the one you like best.

King Kang is super stable for me. Everything works.

King Kang has been the most stable I've tried. Pretty much every rom I've seen on here is livable though. I'm on CM10.1 now and I haven't had any real problems.

CM10 Question

Sorry if this is a dumb question I'm new to this but why are there two CM10 ROMs in the development forum? There is an "Official" build in the normal threads and an "Unofficial" one pinned at the top. Shouldn't the official one be pinned instead? What's the difference and is one better than the other? I'm just looking for the most stable/functioning JB rom.
Side note, is there a JB MIUI rom foe this phone?
Thanks in advance!

No MIUI ROM yet. The "Unofficial" version was released before CM released theirs (and on my phone it never rebooted with it on phone calls like the official CM one does). The "Official" is the real deal from Cyanogenmod.
which is more stable? I am receiving my s3 Friday and plan on running cm10 asap.
I haven't had issues with either of them. However, there are things that I like in TW more, so before automatically going to CM10, I would recommend trying out the stock, or stock-like roms first.

Are you inferring that the Unofficial has hot reboots during phone calls?

I really do enjoy the stock that comes with the phone. I am not a huge fan of bare bones android I like skinned interfaces but I really do enjoy the speed and features that come with JB and Google Now.
I was running CM10 for while without issues, but when I upgraded to the latest nightly, it soft bricked.

CM9 non-kexec

Does anyone know if there is a non-kexec cm9 port available? Or can i flash the the old version with a new kernal? I have been searching, but it seems that all the focus is on JB. I want to run a stable vanilla build while the kinks get worked out in cm10. Thanks much.

I am actually curious here. What does CM9/ICS have that the CM10/JB builds don't? I obviously jumped right to JB because I could but is CM9 worth the step back?
Anyway, I think there is a way to remove kexec. I don't have time to search for it right now, but I will try to remember to pop back to this thread tonight and see if anyone else hasn't helped you yet.

CM9 doesn't have any features that CM10 doesn't. I am just looking for a stable daily driver. I tried CM10, and there are a few bugs that are deal breakers for me. I understand CM9 has a stable release, I just can't find anyone that has ported it to the vzw gs3. Thanks for your help, if you come across anything I'd be grateful. I'll keep searching and post if I find any worthy info.

You know, ive been thinking the same thing. Ever since I got my original droid, ive been hooked on CM. Amazingly fast and vanilla. Now that I got rid of my iPhone and got the GS3 for Verizon, I want that goodness back without the nightly status. Jellybean isnt a big deal to me. Im not commiting to CM10 nigthlys till its at least in RC status. But i do however want CM9 stable for the GS3
I'm on offical JB AOKP test build 6. Loving it. Been rocking it for about 5 days without any issues.
I am very particular about bugs too because i use my phone for work so much and can't deal with issues.
You might give it a go.

Which is the most stable Jelly Bean Rom any idea?

Hello guys,
I have recently moved on to official ICS but I heard JB is far more smoother than ICS. I can see there are number of JB custom roms available through the superb effort of our developers. Thing is I am kind of confuse which way to go. In JB I am looking for a stable completly working ROM, which I can rely to use on daily basis for long term.
Some suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers.

I'm not sure if you could say it's fully working, but I know plenty of people here are using Andromedus as a daily ROM. I think there's a new build coming out soon, but read the thread to find what people are having best success with.
bnd just ported yet another JB ROM over too. Best way is just to try some out. Personally, I love JB but I went back to ICS (the ICE_DS ROM) because I've had a lot of sound issues with Andromedus in all the builds I've tried.
Hope that helps!

I think the best is just to try a few. As you can see in their threads and changelogs every rom still has its limitations. also check out www.blindndumb.com for some awesome (jb and ics) roms for our device
Thanks guys for advices n link. I for sure read lot more n may be try couple of JB roms as well before I stick to one. May be better to do little more research n wait. I hope recently released ics source could facilitate few things for developers. Finger crossed
Cheers.

I use Blindbean for now (not the new one available now) and I like it.
Since I use Jellybean, I don't wanna go back to GB or ICS, to much of a difference.
I mainly make phonecalls and use internet, so I don't really care about camera, pictures, games, music, ...
And for now, it holds up to my expectations. There are off-course some bugs, but for a phone that's that old already, I can deal with that.
(hell, I bought a Xperia U, because the stock HTC desireS was giving up on me, so when I got the Xperia, I could begin to experiment with root/roms and stuff, and now, the newer xperia is on the closet, and I use the HTC again (spec-wise, the desireS and xperia U aren't that different.)
I used to have BlindICE in its latest edition with which I was satisfied, but I've changed to JB with Codename Android and recently JellyTime, both from blindndumb. They are so smooth, I really can't come back either. But I'm also a bit lost concerning the differences between all of these JB roms. From what I saw, none of the 2 were really stable. In Jellytime, video playback can be glitchy, pictures have a green/purple line at the bottom and browsing with chrome shows weird artefacts. Other than that, they work fine. What changes visually in AOKP and CM10 are the ROM menus.

so what do you think which one looks better CM10 or AOKP?
Try both, it's a personal choice
As you can see I am on Androdamus, which is cm10
Tapatalked from Desire S running Androdamus
I run JellyTime R15 as daily, no bugs that are important to the grand scheme of things.
A few weeks ago I tested Andromedus and the latest CM10, and they didn't have FM radio tuner. I listen to the radio almost everyday, so FM radio support is kind of important. This is mostly the reason why I'm still not using Jelly Bean. That and some other little things I enjoy and didn't find, like "render effect", automatic screen brightness control, launcher settings...
I'm kind of new to the ROM flashing scene... Is FM radio one of the last things to become functional on a ROM? Do any of the other ROMs have working FM? I guess it's not a very high-priority item.
I guess I could try to setup a script to automatically download the radio show I listen to, after it's available on the radio station website, then send it to dropbox or something.
I'm usually a very patient guy, waiting for a final release, but it's becoming harder and harder to wait.
edit: By the way, I'm using CM7.2 now
As long as the camera doesn't work I won't use JB Roms.

Should not try Jelly Bean now for Desire S since it is not so stable.
If you want to use the stable ROM, please use this one. I already installed for 4 weeks and it is awesome. But this one is just Android 4.0.4, HT sense 3.6.

Well I've recently swapped to BnD Jelly time and I'm impressed. I've been using Niks CM10 for months and decided to try a kernel 3 ROM. I can't see myself swapping again as Jelly time seems the better daily driver IMO.
I also want to try this Jelly Time but just being cautious, are there any particular bugs you can tell or anything about this Rom or it also has Google Now in it right?!!

Camera works fine in Jelly Time, works perfectly if you download JB Camera+ app.
I personally use CM10 with my Galaxy Mini. Everything works perfectly, but seems there is a problem with the native tethering of both type. 3rs party software solved the problem.

Yes it has everything, including now. The small bugs I've noticed are the brightness sensor is a little laggy, takes a little longer to correct it self to ambient light. Chrome sometimes gets a little buggy, Netflix isnt perfect, front camera doesn't work, video recording is broken and I'm sure there are other small issues I've yet to notice.
None of the above is a deal breaker for me, as we have an increasingly unpopular phone we will always have to expect some issues as a price to pay for the latest os versions.
do we have cm10 for Desire S also?

[Q] Is CM10 Stable Enough for a Non-Flashaholic?

Hello everyone! I used to have the HTC Sensation until I switched over to the SII, which I absolutely love on CM10. Now that my sister has my Sensation, she is beginning to complain about lag, freezing, and other issues. I want to root, S-Off and install CM10 on her phone, but it seems like it is such a pain for this device, and I'm not sure if any of the CM10 ROMs are stable enough yet for her. What are your thoughts on the matter? Thank you.

Bruce's CM10 is almost stable...beside little glitches in chrome...im also using it...and hate sense roms...:d you can get it here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009
Its lag free and comes with oc cpu...but u can intsall Sultan's Kernel (best kernel ever made for Sensation JB)..and check battery saving options besides losing performance ..

u can follow guide to unlock root and s-off ur phone..only s-off part is little bit difficult due to wire trick..
I find Albinoman's CM10.1 smoother and more stable than Bruce's CM10. Worth the upgrade imo.

I tried Bruce's CM10 and for me it didn't work that well. Had a few awful glitches which kinda made me lose interest in CM10 until they throw out an official release.

But guess I'll wait for Eleganzia to show it's dark side regarding bugs or other pesky issues to show up to me though. Recieved an update just yesterday so I'm still eager to test it out

rom for wife..

my wife and i switched from verizon to tmobile a few months ago. she knew i was flash happy and after number comments about rooting her phone , i did so one night after work.. so right now she is on a stock rom, i'd like to get her onto something non-stock, but i need it to be stable & jb based, functional camera... i'm running a 4.1.2 jb on my s2 and just want them to be somewhat similar in the event she has a problem im not clueless to it..
any suggestions?? i'm leaning towards the aokp thats out.. much thanks..

This. CM10 is about as stable as you are gonna get atm. Funny thing is most ROMs atm are CM based so tbh you should be fine with any of them.
If you want to avoid dealing with minor problems. I would say cm10 is your best bet for your wife.
I'm on zero45 slimbean with lightning zap kernel and running fine with most inverted apps

I would also say CM10 or either of the SlimBeans.
