Seems Bricked beyond repair... - Samsung Infuse 4G

I rooted and tried installing a rom. I got stuck at the samsung logo and tried many things. Odin stopped recognizing my Infuse, I couldn't fix the drivers from seeing my device as Gadget Serial.
I couldn't install the right drivers, so I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331381
And now my Infuse is the bricked. Its at this screen, it comes up in devices as Gadget Serial still, but boots immediately to this screen, doesn't respond to adb either.

It's ok if the computer thinks your phone is "gadget serial"...I successfully flashed qkster's one click uclb3 that way. Search for my thread using key words "gadget serial"

Its not bricked that screen is pretty much download mode.Heimdal back to stock then use entropy heimdal one click kernel you'll be up and going.Qkster has one too I'm sure works also.

It was actually my friends Infuse, he messed it up and we tried fixing it. I've rooted my Captivate, GSII, Inspire GSIII, Touchpad, Kindle and Nexus 7 and flashed many roms on each, so I thought it would be simple. After hours of trying to get it to even boot during school and a 2 and a half hour Skype call, we finally got it to stock ATT Gingerbread.
We couldn't get Odin to even adknowledge the phone even existed on my laptop. He took it home after school and I walked him through it on his computer and we were able to flash stock with Odin. We did try using Heimdal, it kicked it out of this pretty much download mode state, but it was still stuck at the samsung logo.
Moral of the story: I HATE THIS PHONE. (dont really.. hate it.. just reminds me of the dark days of rooting and roms on my captivate...)

Lil that's easy to fix. I have done it before. Just keep researching you will find one of few solutions. This phone is literally unbrickable

Alright I will help. There is a one click unbrick by the heindall creator. Its a bit tricky to get the driver installed for that though. Once that program unlocks it then you can get back into download mode. From there restock and follow instructions carefully

If you're just looking to get the right drivers try USBdeview. Run as admin, uninstall all drivers that could be associated with the infuse, plug into the direct motherboard USB port (usually left side or rear) and let Microsoft install the drivers for you.
Rinse and repeat till it works (it will) and/or reboot after uninstall of drivers if that fails and try again.
This was the only way I got my comp and heimdall/Odin to recognize the drivers.

Took almost 2 weeks worth of figuring things out since the steps needed to recover from a traditional soft brick weren't working but yeah.. Eventually I put it back to stock, then re-flashed an old ROM.
I basically messed with my boot loaders while trying to flash and could only get into DL mode...

Just as a heads up, posts of this nature shouldn't go in the Development section they should be placed in the Q&A section. Another thing to remember as well, is to make sure you use the search function of the forum. I know it seems like a hassle when you have a problem with your phone and all you want is immediate answers, but a lot of the time you'll find your answer faster by searching rather than posting your question since someone has probably had the same problem before you.
Just letting you know so that you don't get slapped with any infractions for not following the rules.

Battery is not charging when the tablet is awake.

I woke up one day to find that the tablet hadn't charged over night and so ordered a new cable expecting that would fix the charge problem with the tablet. Well it came in yesterday and the tablet won't charge when awake. It stays at the same percent level without changing. The tablet doesn't immediately recognize the charger either. I checked the battery stats when plugged in and the status reads as unknown rather than charging. I've tried several roms and kernels and nothing changes. Here are a few screen shots explaining my set up and problem.

Are you using the lastest version of the stock ROM? Maybe is a bug in the version that you have.
Its the latest version of both kernal and frozn rom on xda. I had also tried the magatron rom too. All the same problems. :banghead:
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
I know it may sound rather trivial, but I had the same problem (wouldn't charge while on) and it was fixed when I looked in the port and saw how dirty/dusty it was and vacuumed it. Make sure to use the 15V charger too, and that everythings secure. If that doesn't fix, try a total wipe using the superwipe script from the Android Revolution HD Rom thread, (make SURE your recovery reads external sd or you have access to adb to push a new rom, it wipes internal completely) then flash Megatron/Revolver/ARHD/another ROM again, boot once, go back then flash Guevor's kernel, and wipe-battery-stats for good measure. (Make sure you wipe cache + dalvik-cache between all of these steps too, but I assume you know that.)
Ok I'll give that all a try and report back soon! Thank you!
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
I tried all the above and its still a no go for live charging.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium HD app
Well, at this point I don't know, something's really weird. Can you do a logcat? What's concerning is that it charges while off, but not on. Do you have a dock to test with too?

... I really have no idea, I get the exact same thing and it works. :/ At this point, I'm fairly convinced it's hardware, but why? Last resort, try NvFlash to complete stock ROM from dev thread. (Don't worry, you can easily NvFlash and root again) this will reflash your bootloader and everything to should-be-working stock. Link for sbkv2 in my sig, sbkv1 in dev forum.
Haha I was thinking hardware too. I'll try that when I get the chance! Thank you for the help!

That doesn't matter. You don't need to set it up or anything. Once you get a good install on CM9, just reinstall the CM10.
You worried about an official cm9 but not cm10? Lol just giving you a hard time
But yeah flash any ics Rom...it will require a double flash most likely....as in flash like normal, reboot, get stuck on Samsung/cyanogen logo, three finger back to recovery (hold volumes and power) reflash and your good, once you boot up boot back to recovery and flash cm10
Make sure you remove any sdcards before flashing cm10

Post 1 will get you back to stock and post 2 will restore root.
After you are successful with this, flash a CM9 rom such as Entropy's Unofficial build here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601844
Run this for a little while then flash the CM10 rom of your choice.

Go back to stock and start over...your system partition is messed up, what your getting is basically saying it can't find the device info in the build.prop and there fore not flashing it (its a little mechanism that prevents flashing on the wrong device)
So back to stock
Get recovery
Flash cm9
Flash cm10
Should be good

ubuntu touch is in development..it can be ported but it's hard!!
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
You can't just flash ubuntu to a phone just like that.
Think of it as trying to teach a monkey to ride a unicycle, it's a lot of hard, complicated work.
There are some options.
One is just to search the market and follow the instructions of one of those apps how to install ubuntu to run inside an android session.
Another is to wait for Ubuntu Touch to be properly ported, as the dude above me mentioned.

All of you are wrong. Ubuntu can be flashed via on nexus devices 4 7 and 10 through multi rom twrp which is two components 1 is a zip file to be flashed in recovery. The other file is flashed in bootloader. That will give you multi rom recovery which allows you to store multiple roms on your device. Meaning no more wiping data etc. Basically when your device powers on you choose the room you want to boot with. You can even boot from usb if you want to save memory. You need version 4 or higher (8 is the most recent)
You also need to flash a kexec kernal or it won't work.
Once you have the multi rom recovery I stalled (twrp)
You can download the ubuntu touch image and flash it. Go to twrp, advanced, ,add rom, choose ubuntu style rom (which is not a zip) and flash it. It will take a while to flash as it's about 1.5 g
Then reboot and you will have a list on the left showing your roms to boot from
Choose ubuntu. It should load fairly quick. If it doesn't and gets stuck on a screen which I will post a pic of go back into twrp advanced list roms choose ubuntu and click patch .inti.d (something like that) and swipe to confirm. Then reboot and try again and it will work. I recommend a mouse and keyboard for ubuntu. But you don't have to. I did this all on my nexus 7. If you don't have a nexus 4 7 or 10 this won't work. And there are videos on you tube showing how to install it using your pc basically saying you need to have ubuntu on your pc to do this. I wouldn't do that if I were you. I learned the hard way that by doing that you will loose everything on your device including all your nandroid backups and be stuck on ubuntu unless you un root them re root. It sacked when I realized I lost everything and got stuck in a soft Brick. And on all the you tube videos none of the people warned you about it either.
I may have left out a few details so if I did don't crucify me as I'm doing this off the top of my head..Here's some screen shots. Last one is the error you may get
