I started having problems with my albums being randomized in stock player since I flashed another ROM, problem still persist 2 roms later, I tried mounting and unmounting my sd card media refreshes etc.. nothing.
Does anyone know how I can get my albums back in alphabetical order in stock player or is this the JB way of organizing albums now?

JB way of organizing albums now
This for me is my biggest disappintment in the JB update. Odd this is that on my note 2 it does not do this, drive me crazy. Seems that music on the 10.1 is being organized by date that albums are being added, stupid!!

Good morning,
I have really ben enjoying my TnT Lite 4.24 g Tab. However, I am having problems accessing all of my music on the sdcard2. I am sure it is user error, so hopefully someone can help me out.
All of my music was synced directly to the card on my Windows 7 laptop through Windows Media Player. All of the music is on the card. I then installed the card into the G Tab and turned it on, giving the G Tab a few minutes to scan the card (I think it does that) I start the Music app, but only a couple albums are avaialble. Why would this be?
Using ES Explorer, I see all the albums are there and can even play the music from ES Explorer, but not the Music app.
Any idea on what I may have one incorrectly getting the music onto the card, or how to fix this?
Thanks or any help!
Mark
I finally gave up storing music on the external sdcard. I have the best luck when I put all of my music and videos on the internal card. And the problems existed with the built in music app, and winamp.
Music Problems too
Hello,
I am also having problems with music files...my albums all show, however, some of the albums have songs appearing from completely different artists/albums...it's as if some index is corrupt or not properly compiled.
I'm running TnT Lite 4.4 and I've copied all of my music to the internal SD card. I've downloaded the WinAmp app and have the same problem as with the stock music player installed with the ROM.
Is there a way to rebuild the index? Or does such a thing exist?
Any ideas?
TIA...
Hey guys,
My gallery doesn't display the pictures that i have in my SD card. The stock music player has the same problem with music (Cant locate them).
Ive first encountered this problem with my stock ROM and then Ive upgraded to Modaco's Gr14, and the same issue is there.
Is there a way to force the gallery and music player to search???
Not sure if it's even possible at to happen on the stock ROM, mount the sdcard on your computer, check if there's any ".nomedia" file, remove them if you find any. Also if you have "Dev tools" in your drawer (might be a CM7 feature, can't remember), there's Media Scan, which I think forces a manual scan.
Thanks Si_NZ , really appreciated, I just deleted ".nomedia" files and my photos started to appear in my gallery and music in my music player.
This may have been asked in some other thread, but I couldn't find it explicitly. I tag all my mp3's by inserting the album art into the tags. It seems sometimes the album art will be correct after downloading some tracks onto the SD. For no reason I can find, I'll look at my music and the album art will have gotten mixed up and some albums seem to be using art from other albums. Seems like for some reason the DB is getting mixed up, and no amount of using apps to rescan the card seems to fix it. Anyone seen this before?
Using 2.3.3 stock and the stock player.
There is an album art for every song in my library. And main tags (Artist, Album, Year etc) are there too. In that turn, songs are divided in folders like New, Foreign, National, OST and so on. And my music player mixing up album arts within the limits of one folder. Some of covers are at their places, but most are wrong. I've tried a lot of popular players, but the only one, that shows EVERYTHING right is PowerAMP, which is shareware. I've checked also are there hiding pics - nope.
What is the problem? Really need to know!
I have the same problem in stock rom

Click to collapse
So, what are you using instead of music player? Or you just accept that and using stock?
I just accept it... sadly.
Cheers

i have the moto xoom and have problems with my stock music player. for some reason most albums are shown in the player as seperate albums. so every song has a seperate album. while meta data is exactly the same. and the muzic player is telling the albums are the same. but still showing them all seperately. the strangest thing is that some albums are shown correctly. if i copy the album to my desire hd the same album works like it should. wich makes me thing it is a xoom problem. some of the albums on my xoom are not all seperatly but some songs are seperately and the other half is grouped.
i reseted my xoom back to factory defaults. without adding google account i copied the albums straight away. and still having this problem. so it also happens on a clean install.
i wonder if more android 3.2 devices are having this problem, and if its fixed in 4.0. its pretty anoying to say the least!
