I assume that due to the locked bootloader and lack of ROOT for JB on this phone, that there are not a lot of ROMs for this phone. I see SafeStrap is available and that seems pretty cool, but are there any ROMs for this phone that are worth the effort?
On some phones, the stock ROM sucks and there are ROMs that really make the device shine. On this phone, the stock one seems decent and I don't see many alternatives.
Thoughts?
The bootloader Is unlock able from Motorolas website now. I just did mine last night and installed clock work mod.

For the U.S. only the HD dev edition can be unlocked through that site. People should really state that for those that don't know when they post things like this.

Yes, the dev.edition and the International XT925 version can be unlocked.
I am running batakang 1.10 ROM and I'm pretty happy with it.

Go into your settings and look at the model number. X926 is the consumer edition, X925 is the dev/international edition. If you have the consumer edition, you can still flash rooms. Download safe strap and flash away in one of the rom slots. If you have the dev edition, you can install clockwerk. If you need help, just inbox me.

I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking about picking up this phone next week, but there doesn't seem to be much going on with it...
My 2 year old X2 just got a 3rd alpha CM10 build.
Someone I know is working on a Paranoid Android port.... So, ill keep you posted if/when that becomes a reality.

We'd appreciate if your friend could also port PA to XT925 consumer edition!
Many thanks for the news anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt PA just a CM10 mod? Wouldn't that require a fully functional CM10 in order to be functional itself?
Its being worked on... but yes its being built from CM source and in the source just about it everything works. Even the camera apparently.

I came from the nexus and am really looking for more development as well. I've done my share of building and even some of my own apps. What is involved to make a rom for safestrap compared to a normal rom? I M very interested is beginning to build for this device

I still Dont know why no one can crack the locked boot loader
Thx for the update
Sux they patched a lot of stuff making it even harder
I'm a firm believer that the boot loader needs to be unlocked for us Verizon users to have a complete experience
I really love the quality of these moto phones. ...super sexy and solid
But compared to the choices of features And more important the reliability of a unlocked full ROM and kernel ....its just a tease
Every option I have tried with my RAZR HD ...works and gives me some extras but takes away other features and reliability
This may be my last phone
Wish their was a super cracker out there . All of us RAZR M..HD ...atrix users. Make a super bounty to crack the bootloader ...then we will see some serious deving going on
Until then...we are lucky to have the skilled devs we do have....I thank them very much

XDA isn't usually a Motorola phone development stronghold, Droidrzr.com is where a lot of that is going on.
Yea I agree. Lots of posts over there say don't post them elsewhere too or I'm sure they'd be brought over. Oh well, as long as they keep coming, I don't care where they are hosted lol.

Hi guys! A friend of mine wants me to root is moto RAZR HD. I have rooted many devices in the last few years and I am pretty good with directions. After reading the threads here I am curious on how to determine what version of the RAZR HD my friend has. I'm not talking android version more like xt925 or 926. Just want to be sure before I start any processes.

If it has Verizon logo then 926. No logo - 925
You can confirm which version of 925 in about phone section in settings

Just purchased this Razr HD decided to start developing for it. I really like the Optimus G's User Interface Enhancements (LGUIE.)
In my upcoming rom, who'd like to see a LG interface?
Anyone feel the same? If so its no problem for me to make one.
Havent seen it but there is nothing wrong with more options. Can't wait to see what you dish out.
Now that we received a stable CM10/10.1 build, it'll be off of that. (RAZR VZW / RAZR GSM / Atrix AT&T / Atrix Bell)

But it's getting better.
I know. I'm going to release a 4.2.2 version once its stable. For now only 4.1.2/4.1.1. So everything will be working. (Gsm RAZR HD version will be a wip, I need people to test my releases because I don't own a gsm RAZR HD (own bell atrix and vzw razr.) But I'm pretty sure the standard lte on gsm set to 1 and not eri set to 1 etc, with prima should fix the data and WiFi.)
Any gsm RAZR that would like to participate in beta testing... please pm me. They will start soon.
Eta: it will take a while because, I need to fix battery drain. Also I need to get otas working for this ROM.
