HI everyone, i was just trying to revive my phone out of the invalid cg errors, and i couldnt so i decided to flash 2.3.6 through rsd.
Before that i did the cwm on boot option as well as per the guide, now it has flashed to 20/20 flash webtop gfrs.img and it has been 20 mins at that step, what do i do now? does the battery keep draining? do i unplg it?
Please reply before my battery might run out :s
Im no expert, but i can definitely say that unplugging or pulling battery will brick your phone. Dont do that. The battery does not charge in fastboot mode so yes it is draining. Wait it out a bit.. my best advice. Sorry!

if you were on 2.3.6 then you have to read the beginners guide once again as you will have to replace song files to the rom and it would work like a charm i was stucked too yesterday
So you flashed a stock 2.3.6 from? If it was any ICS build, you just hard bricked for being unable to see about the million warnings of not doing so or ending up with a brick...
Perhaps you should provide more information of exactly what you were doing, and exactly what software you were using.....

I had 2.3.5, i did the cwm on boot and it sent me to 2.3.6 now at 2.3.6 i just flashed a stock 2.3.6 with rsd lite 5.6 and it is still at 20/20 after about an hour.
What is a cwm on boot?

Ok, so you installed that modded bootstrap... That alone would not magically put you on 2.3.6 from 2.3.5. You would have either flashed it, or ota'ed from 2.3.5.
So I'll ask again, exactly what were you doing. And again, WERE YOU EVER ON ICS.

Never ics and this is the second time that i applied the reboot.zip and its sent me to 2.3.6
so do i just wait it out till the battery dies?
That doesn't make any sense.... Flashing that in cwm would not apply the 2.3.6 update to 2.3.5.....
From what I can tell you will probably softbrick due to not doing something right.
If I were you, I'd pull the battery and see if the phone will boot into fastboot. Then reflash using the official 2.3.5 fxz, then ota to 2.3.6.(that guide you're using is 10 months old...) You can also use the leakes 2.3.6 fxz.
I'm doing this from my phone, so it's cumbersome to include links to the file, but all the info is in most of the recent posts here, and in the dev forum.

Well i guess there isint much else to it then, but i have had this problem before of going 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 and i guess nobody else has or there would be threads here... i guess i got a wierd phone pulling battery in next 15 mins just to see if anyone else has something to add.
Probably not, since then you won't be able to boot with a dead battery. Pulling the battery now or waiting for it to die is the samething.... At least you won't be stuck with a completely dead batt.

I still don't understand your process of going to 2.3.6 from 2.3.5.
Why are you even rooting 2.3.5 just to attempt to go to 2.3.6.......? Unless you're a dev trying to unlock the bootloader from 2.3.5 somehow, it makes absolutely 0 sense of why you are rooting and backing up 2.3.5...........
You should be ota'ing from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6....

That makes no sense what you are saying.... All I can suggest is what I've already said...
If you're trying to get your phone back to stock, you need to just flash the stock 2.3.5 from fastboot, then ota directly to 2.3.6 using the update utility in android.........

hey guys i just recently bought and unlocked my skyrocket...the phone has been working great for a couple weeks now the battery randomly shuts off and i get a black screen with a vibrate when trying to boot phone up. I installed the Juggernaut ROM onto this phone and it works like a charm. I even bought a new battery and it worked for a day and now back to square 1. I even tried my battery from SGS 4G and that started the phone. What exactly is wrong? Rom or battery?

Are the battery contacts all dirty, bent, or something look wrong with them?
Restoring to stock makes no change meaning that the problem is with the phone itself or something. Maybe you had messed it up by doing something wrong while flashing or... ))
I think what better for you is that you should contact your carrier and have them replace your phone. This will not be a problem as you've just got it.
Just tell them exactly what happens to the phone, but don't tell them that the phone used to be rooted.
When you got your replacement, pm me inbox, I'm gonna show you how to install CMW, and then go straight ahead to Jelly Bean which is the ROM I'm running right now. Since you said your phone was unlocked, I think even if you use your stock ROM, you still are able to use T-Mobile SIM card or any others. ( But I was told by an ATT agent that the phone needed to be used at least 3 months or something in order to get the code to unlock it)
The reason I'm using custom ROMs is that I can do a wifi tether whenever I want, and be able to run the most recent Android version as soon as it is released.

By flashing 2.3.5 firmware on top of 4.0.4, you have most likely hard bricked your device and it will be near impossible to fix. Moto made certain that there is no downgrading..

Yes it is from sourceforge, but there is an mb865 version out there too. The mb version is labeled incorrectly. It is the SEARET mb865 version of the kernel. All that needs to be paid attention to is the WiFi, video, and GPS kernel modules &/ drivers.
Now, it is not ATT based, but that should not be an issue.

You can always use mattlgroff utility to flash an older SBF.
However its going to wipe your phone so I suggest using titanium backup to backup your apps.
You might also want to do a nandroid backup either via safestrap or TWRP just in case you want to get your phone back to the 9.20 with all your informatoin still intact.

Thanks. I'll try that. I'm surprised I'm the only person experiencing this problem. It must be an updated app that has changed its resource utilization.
Hmm I'm going to have to try this. I did the factory reset last night after the upgrade due to reboots and horrible battery life. Still getting the reboots and too early to tell if battery life is better or not. I was a fool and didn't unlock my bootloader, only rooted because I was as happy as a pig in mud with this phone prior to this last upgrade. I wonder after the sbf if its unlockable again? Probably similar to the droid x sbf?

I don't know why do people want to update at all cost. If it ain't broken there is no need to fix it. Quite frankly I liked ICS best but when I sent my Droid for a repair it came already with JB. Just disable moto services and you won't see those nagging, annoying update requests. I am aware that many guys will always want "the newest" version... F.e. The newest gmail client sucks big time. In order to delete the message gotta click twice. They got rid of the trash can. Who believes it is better/more beneficial now? Just my 2 cents.

Now I have 2 superuser apps, one with a pound sign icon and the other with the green android with an eye patch. I went for the gold and the boot loader unlock failed of course. From what I read I knew it would but had to try anyways. I'll be happy if I'm back to where I was before. Got the updater froze now in titanium backup.

FYI give 9.18.79 update about 3-4 days. After that you will see your batter life go up. I got 1d 6h 35m on medium usage after a couple of days. The first day I only had about 16 hours.
So the two things I have circled never used to be listed under running apps. What would cause these to be listed? Only since the VZW update have I noticed this.

Hi, i am really new to all thing like this, especially forum posting and my new phone motorola Atrix 2. so, i'm sorry for mistakes that might come out.
I just bought it a couple days ago and now i really love the phone, on the day i bought i updated the OS version from 2.3.6 to ICS 4.0.4. ICS which gives me a horrible battery drain, however, i did some researches that stated that battery life of Atrix 2 is quite good (but not with ICS).
I have tried to find many things to downgrade it and come to the RSD option, which i'm planning to use. However, i just too scared that this will hard brick my phone. Some people said they were successful and some didn't.
i am using Motorola Atrix 2, with:
system version: 67.220.3.ME865.Retail.en.05
Model Number: ME865
Firmware configuration version: GAS_ASIA_EDISONHKTWNGNC_P012
Build number: 6.7.2_GC-220-EDS-3
so, my questions are, is my phone with ICS Hong kong retail version which is different from AT&T? (as i cannot remember my Gingerbread previous one).
and, should i downgrade with retail Hong kong or Chinese (which one might be better?).
Will, this be successful? (as many people seems can do and some fail).
I've as well searched through many sites about this and could not confirm what firmware should i use and my version of firmware.
I have tried to download the firmware retail Hong Kong from the droid developer site
(sorry i cannot post any link yet). However, my speed download is very slow, may i have another mirror link?. i still don't know if this is because my internet connection or not, but for other site, it seems i can open and download fast compare to this site.
Sorry for asking so many questions, and thanks for all the help.
There is no downgrading after official update.

You have an ME865 or HK version, which is locked down just like the AT&T version. You can not use GB (2.3.6) anymore.
Go look in the dev section, for non-stock (lite) ROMS, there are a number of them that will give good battery life, also disable things you do not use like Bluetooth, WIFI, etc. when not in use. Disable auto email checking, and other push services. This way to can start from ground zero and add things in slowly to see which is causing the drain.
What exactly is the length you are getting between charges, and how much drop do you get say at 8 am you are at 100% and by 12 noon you are at 70%, and by 10pm you are at 20%... Info like this will help us help you. Also you may have a rogue app that is draining the battery by running all the time.

wow, thanks i almost brick my phone then. the battery life is horrible, i charged it full, then by two or three hours it can drop by 10-20%. When i checked the battery status, the screen display takes like 70% of the activity or the android OS 48% and 30% of screen display, although it is in locked state/sleep. is that means there's an app that keep turning on my phone?.
this lite ROM is it about rooting and flashing?, or can i use RSD in fastboot mode?. if i cannot go back to GB so that means i can only use the 4.0.4 or Jellybean ROM?.
