[Q] Samsung Infuse 4G Stuck... - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hi, I am using an at&t Samsung Infuse 4G... My phone is stuck in the Samsung logo.. it doesn't reboot or anything.. it is just displaying the logo and that's it... The phone was working great running RemICS-UX rom but I installed ROM Manager and selected 'Backup Rom' and it did some thing in the clockwork recovery and took me to the blue recovery screen.. I selected reboot now and it took me to the clockwork recovery reboot again... I did this several times and it still took me to the same place.. it wasn't loading the rom.. I tried wiping the cache, dalvik cache, and user data and reinstalled the RemICS-UX rom.. when I select reboot again.. it took me to the same clockwork recovery again.. it was in a loop... I tried installing another OS.. MIUI gingerbread one and now the phone is stuck on the Samsung logo and I had to remove the battery to switch it off... I tried holding the vol up and down and power key but just reboots to the Samsung logo... its not even taking me to the recovery screen...
Is my phone gone for good??? I tried looking for the solution all around xda and nothing seems fit my problem.. if someone could help me out or link me to a similar place.. I would be very grateful...
and my clockwork recovery was very messed up before it became like this.. looked all glitchy and stuff..

Try heimdal or Odin back to stock and start over.

The rainbow recovery is because you don't have GB bootloaders.
Be careful flashing those as a bad flash of them would live you with a complete brick.

okay.. i am in heimdall one-click and it connected to my device and when i tried to flash it.. it says i have to install driver.. and from the drop down.. i have "Gadget Serial".. in a tutorial, i saw that it should say "samsung USB composite" and so i downloaded and tried to update the driver and i am getting the error "This device cannot start".. how do i fix this??

Gadget serial was the only way my computer would recognize my phone.... so I ignored the tutorial and selected that option...worked fine for me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844630&highlight=gadget+serial&page=3

My phone is working again all thanks to XDA.. After many and many attempts, my system connected to my phone.. I was able to flash successfully, but encountered rainbow screen multiple times.. but at the end, everything was working normal (In gingerbread).. I flashed again with the bootloaders and that got rid of the rainbow screens... I now have my Infuse back!!.. Thank you all!.. :good:

Yup ya just have to keep at it the infuse is unbrickable lol well you know what I mean.

[Q] Loop and rainbow screen after flashing

Ok i finally found out how to root and flash my SGS4G and after finishing everything the phone got into a rolling restart loop with a rainbow screen. Trying to use odin to return to stock but it doesn't stay on for more than 10secs so Odin cannot really do anything....
Help?
Can you get into download mode?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
The rainbow screen means you flashed a gb ROM on froyo boot loaders. What ROM did you flash? Is Odin recognizing your phone?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Audiophile-ftw-newbuild. Odin sees my phone but the phone is restarting before i am able to do anything. I cannot get on download mode because i cannot see anything on my rainbow screen. Only a t-mobile logo at the beginning saying Galaxy S 4g
Here is the link for the ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1214260
This is what i got for trying to work on it at 4am. I did not install the bootloaders for GB as you said. Anything that I can do to fix it?
Did you even try to get into download mode?
pull battery out then turn it on while pressing both volume buttons, and have USB connected. I don't remember exactly how to get into download mode, but try everything, then you Odin to a froyo ROM and start over.
Sent from my SGS4G using xda forum app
yes i did. I managed to make stop restarting, odin sees the phone on com3 and i am trying to flash it back to stock but Odin stacked on setupconnection for a while now (10mins)
Just to clarify a few things since i am new to this. (i flashed my vibrant with no issues many times before)
Where do i add the *.tar file in Odin? PDA-Phone-CSC?
I had that issue.. powered the phone and the computer off and on... plugged the phone in after Odin was up and went into download mode then it worked.

Im on DL mode now finally but odin does not see my phone and the drivers failed to install on my pc. restarting pc now to retry
now im on the DL screen but Odin does not pick up my phone. Anyone has a link for the drivers of SGS4G to install them manually?
ok i manage to connect everything together and i am now in the recovery mode. whats next? please help!!!!
This is what you need to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223765
Once you get to step 11 you can flash Audiophile again (or any other GB ROM you wish). This will install the bootloaders you need and fix the "rainbow screen".
i managed to fix it and i got black_ice. I am on the "wait 10mins" part and then have to restart one more time. We will see what happens. If it doesn't work i will follow your steps

Glad you got it working. Just make note of which roms are froyo 2.2 and which are gb 2.3. They require different boot loaders and the only way to change boot loaders is with Odin. I hate Odin because of the frustration when it freezes, stalls, or doesn't recognize the device. To each h his own though
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
ok i flashed black ice when it boots though there is an android logo on top of the t-mobile logo and the phone doesn't seemed to change anything.
I am currently running on KD1 baseband and v3.0 bali_sgs4g kernel what did i do wrong?
Did you read the black ice thread? The whole thing? That would be a good place to start. I don't recommend black ice for your first flash though, allot of people never got it to work or went through hell to make it work.

The andoid logo over the T-Mobile logo is normal from what I understand. I had that issue as well when I was on froyo.
If you are still experiencing other issues, I would suggest restoring a nandroid backup (if you have one) and starting over fresh: install a fresh kernel and ROM. If you want to stick with froyo, I suggest drhonk's Bali v3.3 kernel, and any of the froyo ROMs will be fine.
If you want to try GB, follow the link that I posted earlier to find FB's GB Starter Pack.
well i just reflashed again, im waiting for the phone to boot up..my issue was that the phone looked stock and couldn't find any themes or something to change it. i read the thread, i guess my question is the theme that i saw on the screen shots of black ice, does it come with it or not because im getting really confused with this thing lol
Axura was much easier on my vibrant....
So the only issue you have now is that the phone looks stock?
i followed your guide and i was able to flash it everything looks ok. thanks all for the help and special thanks to ultimakillz

[Q] Infuse Bricked (I think)

I was running stock 2.3.6 and attempted to root it using Odin. During the process, it was stuck on cache.rfs for a long time...I took the battery out and turned on the infuse again. This time it said I needed to do recovery mode. Kies woulnd't recognize the device. So I went back into download mode and tried GTG Ultimate Unbrick. This isn't working because it keeps getting stuck at factoryfs.rfs. It's currently there now, and its been here for at least 15min. I've tried closing Odin, retrying, removing battery and SD and trying but nothing is working! I'm not sure what to do. :/

If you can still get into download mode, you aren't hard bricked. That's a good thing
As for recovering your device. This has happened to me multiple times. There are about a million different things I've tried. 1. Simply use a different USB port, 2. Try a different cable it it's available, 3. Use a different version of ODIN, 4. Try using the heimdal method, 5. Completely uninstall the drivers for the phone and then reinstall them.
Try all of these, not necessarily in that order. I tried last time and it turned out all I needed to do was switch computers for god knows what reason. Good luck!
I'm trying Heimdall right now. Will let you know how it goes..
So as I click flash, it starts...but then it says drivers not found so I click their "Reinstall Drivers" and then after 5min, the installation fails.
I got past the driver error. Now what it tell me is:
Uploading KERNAL
0%
>Then it says
KERNAL upload failed
Ending session...
I have managed to successfully run the Heimdall. But now it turns on and goes into recovery everytime. I wiped data and cache. SOMEONE HELP PLEASE?
I have had a similar experience. My flash would freeze at random points and never complete. This was using my laptop with windows 7. Tried a different computer (same brand, same OS,same USB cable) and it worked fine. This was the case for SOC and ODIN.

[Q] Having issues trying to get back to stock

Ive been using the thread to Odin back to stock as im getting a replacement phone in a few days. Followed everything correctly, but Ive been getting a boot loop between the green android guy and the white Samsung startup logos. Redid the process in odin and now im getting "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in Kies and try again" when I go to download mode. i know I have a saved Nandroid backup on my SDcard, I just cant get to it. I also have mini Kies installed on my computer if there is a way to fix it thru that. I cant figure out how to get into recovery mode either. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Im just trying to get my phone working until my replacement is here.

That's because you had to factory reset and erase all data before flashing to stock. I had the same issue when flashing from dk4 to stock to lf4

So how do I get my phone working again? Its stuck in a bootloop after following the directions for Odin back to stock thread

This issue only occured when you uncheck Auto reboot in Odin. Try Odin again with Auto reboot checked
If you getting an boot loop, do exactly what I've done in Odin thread
If you get a boot loop All you do is boot in stock recovery and wipe data

Can't go to stock recovery in this case. This issue only occoured when Odin to stock ROM after using/flashing custom ROM that you forgot to format system or clean data. I've run into this problem before
It looks like after all this, Titanium Backup's backup was erased. I do have a Nandroid saved on my SDcard. Is there a way to pull everything from that? When I go to CWM and try to do a Nandroid, it says there isnt anything there. But When I connect to my computer, I can see the saved backup. I have been able to pull a few backed up apps off the Nandroid backup, but only certain ones or it says batch restore failed. Im wonder how it can see the Nandroids, but CWM cant? They're saved on my SDcard.
Is there another way Titanium Backup saves backups that I could possibly get to them? Im really trying to figure this out before my replacement phone gets here in a few days. I did backup everything, Im just having a difficult time restoring after the numerous problems Ive had thanks to Tmobile's "troubleshooting"
What are you currently running? If you are back to stock titanium won't function correctly as you have to be rooted. But since you mentioned cwm I wasn't sure.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
Im just on stock but I am rooted. I just dont know where all my backups went after the bootloop and issues with reverting to stock after Tmobilr screwed up my phone trying to figure out why I kept getting "Call Ended" when trying to dial out.
Where is your nandroid backup currently located?
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
On my external SDcard/clockwork mod/backup/ whatever the date was.
Seems normal. Not sure why it wouldn't be visible. Sorry I can't be more help.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
In recovery they are visible, but when I go to flash one it says no files found..
I was also stuck in a boot loop after attempting to get my phone back to stock since I got a replacement phone. Followed all of the instructions, but realized although I did a factory reset, I forgot to wipe data. So I simply got CWM through Odin....got into recovery wiped data....rebooted and voila! I'm back to stock no root. It took all of 1 minute to do. Maybe that will work for you too

Thank you for your quick response.I am able to get to recovery mode.and wipe data and factory reset.I got cm10 1117 nightly on my SD card and I install that and my phone is back.then I install jelly bean Google app.I will never try to go back to stock ROM again. this ROM is cm10 1117 nightly is better than stable cm10 for me.I thank all the devs who worked together to bring this your effort is much appreciated.
This is how I get to recovery mode on my Samsung galaxy s blaze.
1.press the vol up + vol down + power button at the same time.
2.as soon as the Samsung logo light up I release power + vol down button but not releasing releasing vol up button but rather press it harder..and there it comes....may be someone might be having the difficulty I had before
Give it a try...

[Q] Totally Screwed Infuse 4g... Help meeeeee

So basically I have tried everything I could find to fix my friends phone (it was bootlooping on the samsung screen) and nothing has worked for me. after many successfull flashes of various things, and unsuccessfull and interrupted flashes as well, all I am left with on the phone is 3e recovery... cant get into download mode or fastboot or anything else. It still bootloops on the samsung screen and isnt recognized in odin or heimdall. Oh and theres one more thing. Anything I try to flash in 3e recovery comes back with an error "E: signature verificatioon failed" and then it aborts install. What does this mean? Can I flash anything?? nothing seems to work and I want CWM but idk how to get. I think I'm just totally screwed at this point. What do you guys suggest?

If you can get to recovery then 99% of the time you can get to download mode...the 1% time you can't is when your USB port/and or cord is broken or you don't have the drivers installed
Download mode in case you don't know:
pull battery
Put battery back in
Hold volume up and down
Plug in USB
The 3e recovery signature failed is cause that's not a custom recovery/its not made to flash ROMs or kernels

You were right it was the cable. however I do have the Samsung Kies mini driver installed and it still doesnt show up in Odin. Ideas?
Please read several other posts that talk about removing mini Kies. It doesn't play nice with the infuse. Do a search on the forum. Get the proper drivers and then go from there.

Stuck in boot, have cwm

Hi there. I had a stock S4g, had froyo 2.2.1. I Rooted the phone. That went fine. I went to install a new kernel (baliSGS4G) The instal got interrupted, second reboot had the android logo flashing while the normal galaxy s logo was on, so I knew from there it was screwed up...
It booted up fine actually, and i was able to operate around in on the phone, altho the home button didnt work... I went ahead and tried a restart to see what it would do and it would stick at the galaxy s boot screen and the voice would say "restore operation" and just reboot and be stuck on a boot loop...
I CANNOT get into recovery mode UNLESS I remove my sdcard... if I do I CAN... BUT it seems as tho the cwm recover is somewhat useless to me now that the sdcard isnt in.... If I boot into recovery and THEN put the card in, it saws E: Can't mount /sdcard..
Ive tried wipe cache partition, wipe data/factory reset... nothing..
Any suggestions? THankyou!

p.s. gb is a better os

And yeah, I actually have a galaxy SIII.....the reason i grabbed this one out is i have a little go pro style project im going to do with it and dont want to risk breaking my new phone.
I will try the newer os If i can get this fixed.. Hopefully!

Ok Lumin, I did what you said and I am getting to the command promt and it is not seeing my phone, It still shows the phone is disconnected... I have CWM recovery, is that an issue?? That opens when i hold the up,down,up button combo, not the stock download mode screen.
Very well written tutorial btw.

Try One-Click Gremlin Remover to flash and fix. Found this to be easier than Heimdall for the uninitiated: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500427
1 Open Gremlin remover on PC
2. Remove battery from phone
3. Hold down both the Up and Down on the Volume Rocker
4. Plug Phone into USB (without battery)
5. Insert battery into phone and replace cover
The phone should automatically boot into Download mode, and Gremlin Remover should recognize the phone. This should wipe it back to stock but leave it rooted. Then you can start again. I recommend the SGS Kernel Flasher App to flash new kernels in the future. Much less prone to error.

You might refrain from recommending a different flashing utility (ODIN) when somebody has already started using Heimdall and is just asking for help to finish the process. All you are doing is inviting more problems with driver and USB port issues by doing so. You gave him a simple set of instructions that mentioned nothing about drivers.
And SGS Kernel Flasher is great but it only works properly on our GB ROMs.
