My question is can CM9 run games as smooth as in stock rom..(Heavy games)...Because maybe CM9 wud not have enough free memory...
Yes, it has 406mb of internal space (by default) and ~200mb free ram normally.
I play Dead Trigger smoothly on cm9. See my signature for detailed info.

Besides the fact that you will get as many different answers as there are roms, a little search would have showed you this:

So please read and post there.

Hi there,
I have a little doubt. Do someOne testes this Rom (codename ICS Rom) after having CM9 or Apex OR CyberGr?? If so, what do you think of it? is ot worth to flash?
How about speed & battery Life??
Thanks in advance
Just make a backup of your current rom and flash Codename. You'll find hundreds of responses and feedback in the Codename thread, not sure why you posted this here.

I know that. I posted here because usually the folks comment all about the Thread rom and dont really compare with other roms.
I would do a backup and then falsh the codename but my phone is almost full (11bg - games (gta3, 9mm, etc) so it will take some time to do that. Instead i wanted to hear some opinions.
Thanks anyway

I've done some work comparing ROMs, follow my link...
kernels ; battery ; ROM ; gov/sched
Now with summaries in the first posts. Convenient for XDA app users!
I think that now codename Android is the best, smoot, stable ROM, especially with speedy-7 kernel. it has a lot of improvements, mods, CA also have it's own app, from what you can download some new mods, update existing apps/mods/addons, so you got very useful all-in-one tool. My phone works perfect with liveoc 115%, CPU 920 deadline - ondemand.

hi i'm new 2 xdadev and i'm asking what will be the best ics based rom 4 my next coming galaxy s 2 and maybe some good kernels and tweaks and etcc. thanks 2 all bye
Quick warning that may help you: on the portal a few days ago there was an article about an issue with offical (leaked) SGS2 kernels that can cause your eMMC to become corrupted. That will irreversibly brick your phone. Just be careful

You should give a try to cyanogenmod 9 (they said its pretty unstable but still)
No CM9. Please try one of the many custom Samsung roms and AOKP roms which are trending at the moment....

Hey. Try resurrection remix. It's in the SGS2 android development section. And I find that the SiyahKernel 3.2.7.2 is the best so far. You can turn on bln. This let's your menu and back keys blink when you have a new message.
You have to download "extweaks" from play store to activate this.

CriskeloServanTeam is a BIG rom, it is that i use
Wrong forum. Should be posted in the SGS2 subforum...
Desire S • Fallout V2.0.0 • xda premium
SlimICS
a very good ICS rom
very quick and stable
constantly upgraded
try rom ressurection remix , for me its one of the best
paranoidandroid, for sure
wait to the new

Wrong topic! --> Q&A
You are using stock ics now right?
I recommended the CM Roms because stable and fast.
The CM9 (ICS) works well in the tablet.
The CM10 (JB) really near the perfect. I prefer this, I no have problem with this ROMS, (just some little problem with the autobrightness and some problem with navigation buttons, i hope it will solve soon)
I not tired yet AOKP, i think works well also.
As posted above, questions should be posted in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

I tried the cm10 but the home page is not on portrait mode or cant be rotated?. And there is no playstore, otherwise I would like it. Is it the same with cm9?

I prefer the stock ROM coz it has mini apps & bunch other functionality.
CM9 is good, designed for tablet, but no better (in terms of functionality) than Stock Rom
CM10 is not ready yet, the nightly is just plain ugly.

Yes i prefer cm10 for tablet rotation try setting/display/rotation and tick all options
You could try also a launcher as nova, apex, holo or go launcher hd and check setting of the launcher to enable rotation
Also read reports about aokp working goooood in this tab 3113
I prefer custom roms as no bloatware and nearly zero bugs in this tab and speed increase , i use now cm10 and go launcher hd and so happy
Regarding store not found, i think you forget to flash google apps, if in cm10 try gapp jb, if in cm9 try gapps ics from www.teamhacksung.org

Anyone tried d tab2lite rc2 rom? If so how was it?

Depends on what Rom you are using and the phones I guess, GB is a good OS for gaming and ICS is terrible on smaller devices, I have infinity Rom ICS on my Xperia U and Gained over 1000 points in antutu benchmark. So for me stock Rom was not the best option for gaming.

Benchmarks on other roms are higher than that on stock Rom so obviously they are better in gaming compared to stock Rom
You can try kernel 3 and soon overclock will come so our phone will just fly

Ya dude overclocking is perfectly safe within certain limits Your phone will not blow up
Well actually not yet for our phone, maybe you are not checking out the cm10 thread, there was pretty close to fried nands , so it's kind a unsafe at least for now.

Well, for me,installing cm9b11,was the best for gaming...the best in terms of speed(less lag than stock),graphic clarity was outstanding...
If games 3d did not work as the way as expected..I would probably have gone back to stock...
Having said that some intro videos don't work or atleast very very slowly..video decoding problem still is present in cm9 and 10...
cm9 htc a310e
Ive always considered Stock ROM useless. It could not run simple games like Agent Dash. When i switched to Custom ROM i could run all games.
....
jaggy rom is betr for gaming...
nd overclocking doesn't really help for gaming ...
Lots of heavy games such as MW,GTA VC,MC 3,FIFA 12,SG are running without lag on stock for me.
I would prefer cm9
You dont have to particularly choose and download roms exclusively for gaming. Instead you can tweak whatever rom you have and boost your gaming performance. Just google for such tweaks. Why waste time downloading the same iterated versions of the rom...
Tweaks don't help as much as changing roms...

Trust me,cm9 is much better...for example,in gta,if you tweak resolution and other stuff above a limit, you'll surely experience lag...however,that's not the case with cyanogen..it will also lag but at a very high level

Oh,any special scripts you using?
No...but disabling logcat will surely increase performance..
But make sure that the games run on ics..

I am new to my a700 and so far I love it. However, I would like to root it so I can 1.) connect my Sixaxis controller and 2.) move over game save data. I find the option of picking a rom a bit overwhelming. Can someone offer an opinion of the roms available for the a700?
I'm coming from my first Android device - an HP Touchpad with CM10.1.
If there is a recent thread on this topic, I have overlooked it.
Thanks in advance!
John
I'm using CyanogenMod on mine. I like it. The a700 is a supported cyanogen device so they release stable ROMs and frequent updates.

Thanks for the reply. I will give it a try.
Does "The Simpsons: Tapped Out" run? I have been playing it a lot and I hoped to take my save status with me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283306
For this particular tablet, there's not that many ROM to choose from. I've actually tried all of them and somehow settled on a port from the original jb rom, Alex's Purgatory. I know it's based on A701 but it works well with the A700. Just from personal experience, I find it smoother and the graphics better ( maybe because of original drivers? ) compared to cyanogen based roms. But to each his own so try them out and you be judge.

Normally XDA doesn't allow "Best Rom" threads. For the reason opinions can vary, and in some forums, arguments typically happen.
So in this case, I will close this thread, and re-open a new Thread " What's the Best Rom, Kernel, etc". This has proven effective in the past, as the thread is maintained by a Moderator.
So with that said, Thread is closed. Check Q & A forum soon for the official thread.
