install samsung drivers on your pc and connect again. Any change in storage isn't needed. Defaults are OK.

If you already have installed kies, then look in its installation folder. There will be the required file in that folder. It is a setup file named as Samsung USB drivers.
Thank you all. I found it right here. Thanks :cyclops:

Go into Device Manager and delete the Samsung device.
Reboot your computer
Download the USB drivers and install
Reboot again
plug in phone and see if it detects.

Do you have Samsung Kies?
(That's probably a dumb question now that I think about it..but that's where I got my drivers when I rooted it)
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SGH-I997ZKAATT
One of the superoneclick packages has drivers included, that's what I used.

to root :
disable anti-virus
also put your phone in usb debugging mode.
download again superone click or lost1's zip file(there is root script file inside zip)

That's most likely because you haven't uninstalled and reinstalled your drivers. That's why I suggested a package with known working drivers.
So in preparation to install V21D I had to uninstall everything and reinstall everything that included the USB drivers. Something went wrong.
Now when I plug my phone in:
Installs Drivers (Android Phone)
No Driver found
Computer doesnt detect anything
Phone doesnt detect being plugged into the computer (can still charge)
No USB storage
Help please

I have fixed it by downloading the LG United Drivers through the Unbrick thread
see if you can help me,for some time now no device recognize my tablet, did not give much importance and all that happened I do sd taking the tablet and connecting it to my s3 this if I catch him, but clearly not as comfortable.
I thought it would be a thing of windows 8, but I've tried on other computers with xp, win7 and nothing.
I do not remember if it stopped working when I put cyanogenmod10. I love cyanogen by fluent but I downloaded the latest official samsung already incorporates the attractively landscaped MULTI I find on a tablet.
I installed and uninstalled samsung kies but nothing.
and clear to not hold my tablet I can not flash by odin.
I'll see if I find any official version as I downloaded but it is for recovery mode.
the model is the tab2 10.1 gt p5100
ThankĀ“s in advance
Have you installed the drivers properly for your tablet? It took me sometime to get my tab to register on the computer too.

If it was when you went to Cyanogen Mod then something you could check (haven't heard of it on these tablets, but it is a known issue on another device I own) is go into the settings menu, scroll down to "Storage" and click into it, now find the menu button (not sure where it is on these) and tap it, it should not give you an option for "USB computer connection", tap that and make sure its on MTP or Mass Storage (if that is an option, depends on device and ROM), on the unofficial CM builds for my other android device you can't connect it to the computer after flashing the ROM till you go in and pick a setting there.

Kies drivers have NOTHING to do with being able to connect it to the computer to transfer files, also there is absolutely no reason to ever install Kies as you can get the Samsung drivers easily enough and that is a much smaller download. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956

That too. But it is easier to let Kies install it for you.
I was baffled by a similar experience.
The answer for me was to go to your settings in your device > storage settings > choose either MTP or Camera (check / tick a box)
Then the mac or pc should connect or recognise your device as long as you have the latest version of kies correctly installed.
:good:
install the drivers properly
or use another usb wire
i was trying to root my phone by following the guide from the FAQ
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895545
and i got to the step:
point it to where you downloaded the Android SDK (..\android-sdk-windows\google-usb_driver)
Make sure to CLICK "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Then from the list 3 choices select Android Bootloader Interface

to install the usb driver and it didnt work as there is no google usb section of the SDK download.
I went and downloaded google-usb-drivers from google but my computer (win 7) still cant find anythign compatible.
what do i do?
EDIT: oops i didnt realize i had no title. Sorry. Feel free to add one if you want.
Also i did search for this. and was suprised to find no results... however there are lots of different search boxes to choose from on this site. I was pretty sure i chose the one for nexus s

is there another good guide i can follow? maybe there is a step i need to do before usb install? This guide assumes the usb drivers will come with the SDK but the only data the SDK tries to update is itself to SDK15 which the guide specifically mentioned not to do.

that has the same issue
i cannot get usb connectivity in for the fast boot mode
from the rootkit the when i plug in my device even after installing the universal usb drivers i think windows is installing something else. Thus stopping me from accessing it while in fastboot mode
Not really sure what to do here. USB debugging enabled and everything all the guides are pretty easy to follow and have the same steps.
Google PdaNet, download and install it after attaching your phone to pc via usb. It will also install device driver... I think it is 'android 1.0' driver issue...

nope didnt work
just so you know when i plug in the phone with debugging on i have 'android composite adb interface' installed
i have removed all the drivers from this computer previously. i can do it again though.
after installing pdanet i have 'android 1.0' pop up under other devices with an exclamation on it in device manager...i don't know if that is normal or not?
how do i know when this is working? i always try to run "oem fastboot unlock" which goes to "waiting for device" but will i no longer see the
USB control Init
USB control init end
??
It is the same issue of android 1.0 driver which i also faced in win8... You have to install android 1.0 driver manually from device manager

so if i go to install the drivers from the pdanet folder if i tell device manager to search the winusb folder it says "cannot find drivers for your hardware" and if i dont search and say have disk - i chose 'android device' then the file in android_'winusb' file but it says "specified location does not have information about your hardware"
so i cannot get it to work.
This is on XP and win7 (2 different computers). I prefer the XP one for this though
Install nexus s root toolkit, then try to install driver from there.

i had same problems on win 8.1
the problem is due to mtp windows drivers,
the problem is that windows will install his generic drivers and will override nexus 5 drivers installation
i solved by
1. uninstall all adb intefarces (for example, on acer, I had 2 acer adb interface and another adb bootloader interface)
2. deleting all android_winusb related folders from
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
